i think it would be an honor for an upstart band like the Mavericks to be introduced into the mainstream by the great Tammy Wynette. Tammy was so prophetic.....
I think the way Raul channels Roy Orbison in his singing style is really cool. There aren't many people who can do this, but Raul Malo does so with ease. I also wish the Mavericks would put out some new material!

as much as I"m a fan of the mavericks,I find the singer performs great in a studio, but is a little flat (off key) when he performs live.Too bad thet are no longer together.
Raul Malo is the singer. He is still performing and his voice has matured. Saw him last May at a free concert during SXSW at Lady Bird Lake in Austin. They were great.
After his band, we got to see Arc Angels kick ass.
You're right, seventiesclassic. Looks pretty gay doesn't it? Like the hair and the song sorta don't actually belong on the same planet at the same time. Sure do like his voice, though.
I remember these guys when they 1st came out. Robert was then married to Trisha Yearwood & I asked him if he was Mr. Trisha Yearwood. He got pissed! LOL
This is a good song...im a heavy metal at heart and grew up in the 80's and the mavericks was the first country music i tried to listen to because i wanted to have some variety...then i listen to their music in 1994 when my father died.
I love this song - The Mavericks are wonderful. Raul has such a terrific voice. Was this their first hit? The first time I saw them on a video with lots of action - in color - on a Nashville country station I became a lifetime fan. I'd like to know their top songs. Thanks for this video. - Paula

A favorite since I heard in on a Lifetime movie
"For My Daughter's Honor". Later the name of the movie was changed, so there may be some confusion as to what movie it was in.
