@kimlene05 They were on their way, but Greece for example had actually used tax payer money to invest in these bad mortgages because Goldman Sachs told them they were triple A lol. Once the American economy slows down, so does the world's and the banking crisis was the catalyst.
@kimlene05 Yes, the whole planet went through a crash that was a result of American banking policies... and while dems didn't do much to control it, bush tried to use it for political gain touting more Americans have homes than ever before. Also, the stimulus has tax cuts in it that don't expire, and the stimulus is just slowing down, not ending.
@kimlene05 Right, but in a crash, revenue goes down, spending goes up (unemployment, which Obama has very little control over, although yes he did extend it by like...8 months). Unemployment isn't going to fix itself over night, it was a BIG crash) and 2.5 million jobs were gained, saved by some of this debt you are complaining about, and finally some of the debt is also for tax cuts to people who actually spend money.
@kimlene05 Just the facts. The unemployment is a result of a crash that happened under Bush's watch when he had super majorities for 6 years, and his party controlled congress since the early 90s.
@lisabob22 You are calling Bachman dumb? Are you praising Grayson, the moron who speaks bullshit every time he opens his mouth. Are you praising a plan that NO ONE knew what was in it before it was passed? Are you praising paying higher taxes to cover illegals, birth control, and abortions? Are you praising for taking away American's choice to choose their own healthcare and be forced to pay for government controlled healthcare?
Plain and simple: Obama is NOT healthcare reform. It is government take-over. Obamacare is forcing Americans to use the health care plan the government decides.
Yes, healthcare should be affordable and accessible, NOT controlled by our government. Obama got his health care plan passed by bribing and buying support from people in HIS OWN PARTY! 65% of Americans were against it and he did not listen.
I would have more respect if Bachmann and her Regressive collegues went before the cameras and publicy stated they are refusing their congressional health care plan.
Wow...I don't think you understand the meaning of the word eugenics buddy, not if you think of all people Obama is planning to commit it. Statements like that just prove your ignorance and when you say things like that it makes people of a sound mind less likely to take you seriously. Lay off the koolaid sir.
Hey good news everybody! The health care bill has passed and my daughter gets to remain on our family plan till she's 26! Thank you! But millions of Ameicans are rejoicing who now have access to Health Care Insurance when previously denied by the Insurance Cartel because of pre-existing conditions. This bill will help millions of other ameicans from filing bankruptcy due escalating medical costs!
@breeze787, . So your deadbeat daughter gets two more years on your health plan and for what? . 1. An Unconstitutional Bill undermining the American People and 10th Amendment . 2. Massive entitlements and spending . 3. Nationalizing Student Loans and Healthcare. . 4. Support of a Hitler-like regime complete with eugenics as the ultimate goal. . Hey congrats for your daughter! I hope you guys aren't jewish or black!
@AmericaSucksify My deadbeat daughter is completing her 3rd year in college. I know that you aren't an expert in our constitution so your 10th amendment comment is baseless. There are no "massive entitlements" and spending at this economic time is necessary. You need to catch up with your reading. I'm in support for nationalizing Student loans. We haven't nationalized healthcare yet! And you need to change your reading material its awful! Nope not Jewish or black but why are you going there?
I don't have to have a law degree to understand the Constitution of the United States of America. Besides I do have a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering.
.
The 10th Amendment states:
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
.
The Federal Government infringed upon State Rights with Obamacare.
@AmericaSucksify but asucky, what you don't understand is that you don't understand! Myself and millions of other Americans wanted Obamacare. You are in the small percentile that does not want this. Ohh well?
Furthermore, the Constitution of the United States is a charter of negative liberties, meaning it states what the government can't do to you not what you think it "should" do for you. Mandating citizens purchase health insurance is Unconstitutional.
.
Also, John Holdren, Obama's Science Czar, advocates use of sterilization of the food and drinking water as a means of population control in his book Ecoscience.
@AmericaSucksify And you went on to believe how you twist the facts to fit your nazi, white supremist, kool-aid drinking america sucks point of view. Your username is "AmericaSucksify"! You think America sucks! How do you get off thinking like that? Are you an out of luck, unemployed, self pitying alcoholic, pissed off at the world, Obama is to blame for everything kind of person? Geesh! Smell a rose will you?.Enjoy a good ballgame and get back to me when you're feeling better?
Bachmann definitely in over her head on this one. Despite her carefully scripted little talking points, she looks ridiculous in this.
The system is broken. Sen. Bachmann, what is your solution? duh...leave it like it is and hope the ins. co.'s don't completely rape the public, like they are poised to.
Ask yourselves, DO I WANT A CORRUPT, GREEDY, FRAUDULENT, AND BROKEN GOVERNMENT TO INFRINGE ON HEALTH CARE?
People are so stupid when it comes to the free markets. Everything you buy whether its a product or service is inevitably subjected to inflation (the rise in the cost of living). When you're at the pumps paying $10/gall don't blame it on the gas stations, blame it on bailouts, jobs bill, TARP's, tax cuts, 23.7 trillion dollar back door deals from the FED to foreign banks or governments.
There is NO difference between Democrats, Republicans, Lobbyists & Corporations. They all work ONLY for each other. Neocon Democrats LOVE it when Neocon Republicans are in Power (but make sure to act like they hate each other), Neocon Republicans LOVE it when Neocon Democrats are in Power (but make sure to act like they hate each other). They LOVE putting on an Act, a Show to Deceive, Manipulate & Exploit the Public, making the Public think that there is 2 parties & democracy in Fascist America.
Im not paying for this they can take me to jail and the taxpayers can pay for that. So now the GOV can force you to purchase something this is going to open the door for the GOV to make you buy whatever they want or not give you what they don't want you to have. Totally unconstitutional you can't make 1 American buy a good or service from another.
Ron Paul has been right with most of his economic predictions. I hope to God he is wrong this time. The American mind - long suffering from an addiction to porn, video games, and cable news - is entering a suicidal stage. The country is on the verge of collapse and most American Sheeple do not even know it. They are like lambs led to slaughter by elites that have nothing to lose. History is so predictable. Obama is no more qualified to be President than is Sarah Palin.
The "certification of live birth" posted online and widely touted as "Obama's birth certificate" does not in any way prove he was born in Hawaii, since the same "short-form" document is easily obtainable for children not born in Hawaii. The true "long-form" birth certificate which includes information such as the name of the hospital and attending physician - is the only document that can prove Obama was born in Hawaii, but to date he has not permitted its release for public or press scrutiny.
bigdog, yep Bachmann is a conservative WELFARE queen whose family farm gets $250,000 a year of free government money. I wonder how many working families that would buy insurance for? Maybe that's why she's against healthcare reform. It means less welfare for her.
All politicians are welfare queens. Maybe that's too harsh. They're little babies sucking off the federal tit. That's better -- they need to enter the private sector and produce something.
incognito, you mean the PRIVATE SECTOR that is also one colossal welfare system. Please the so-called FREE MARKET gets more government money than many government departments do. so spare me you "capitalism" vs. "socialism" rant. It's clear you have no idea how our economy works. Bachmann is a corporate tool whose only job is to get more corporate welfare for people like hereself and her families farm She doesn't see her as helping the average American but helping herself to corporate welfare.
You're talking about all politicians, especially those in the Obama administration. Spare me the garbage about average Americans. They are the nobles and we are the peasants.
You forgot a Jobless Recovery! Obama himself stated this is a jobless recovery! Meaning that all persons losing their jobs will not have a job to go to!
Opposing healthcare for all U.S citizens makes you a cunt, And a greedy, selfish cunt at that. These bastard republican warmonger fuckwit christians don't give a fuck about their fellow man/woman ,Unless of course he/she is on their side. At least the majority must be kinda decent people.
Libs&neocons spew information without supporting facts. It doesn't matter which side it is. All sides spew information with the goal of steering money and influence to their pet group be it corporations, unions, gay/lesbian, black caucus, hispanic caucus, environmental movement.... You name 'em they all want as many as our tax dollars for as long as possible and they don't give a crap who is disadvantaged as a result. priorzola decries talking points but that's all I see in the multiple posts.
aj294, sorry the only one in this video who uses facts and figures instead of talking points and diversions is GRAYSON. Because the last thing that the factless Bachmann wants you to do is to find out how much money her family gets in free govt handouts for their farm ($250,000) and if the govt gave away that kind of money to working families for health insurance instead of to corporate welfare con-artist like here, then she might have to EARN her money. Spewing w/o FACTS is a TALKING POINT.
BACHMAN: Oihh Laiiry, eets teh govrn-ment taik ohvrr of eleventy-hundred prrcent of the ekonomee. we caint have this socialist taik over of our health care!
Why is it you libs resort to adolescent name-calling instead of debating the issues - with civility? And what is this about hate? You "hate" someone because they oppose your agenda? Get a grip.
How is Zombie Stepford Wife Talking-Point-Spewing Borg Bachmann (With those Disgusting Brainwashing Huge Eyes and that Abhorrent Sick Gaze and that Forever Fake Smile and Acting) any different than Marshall Applewhite.
You are a childish moron. Get off of your Mommy's computer now, go wash the cheetoes off your hands and go find some relevant purpose for your silly little life.
Grayson: "How can we spend so much money and get so little?" We are 50th and mortality rate.
The US has the most regulated health care industry in the world - from the AMA, FDA, ST medical boards, etc.
If you believe the stats saying our health care quality is relatively poor to other developed nations, then regulation has done one thing: reduced supply, innovation, and increased overhead costs tremendously. Hence, the reason we have the most expensive health care in the World.
BasicFreedom, we ARE NOT the most regulated healthcare system in the world. That is a blatant lie. The countries who we are competing against are far more regulated from the number of GENERAL PRACTICTIONERS to the COST OF PRECEDURES. Comparatively (considering that 50% of all health care costs in America come from the big bad govt) we have very little regulations. Hence the ability of health insurers to keep Americans off the rolls while pocketing the profts. USE FACTS not talking points.
prior, the HC industry is extremely regulated. But as someone has pointed out below: If the patient has no incentive to shop around, cost will spiral out-of-control.
Meaning, if a patient can't shop around for their care - b/c gov. or insurance companies have individual costs for procedures buried in the 3rd-party payer system plan - the patient will not be aware of cost for procedure X at locations Y, Z, etc and therefore cannot reward those most efficient - which reduces cost.
Basic, the statment made was that ours is the MOST REGULATED in the world which is a blatant falsehood. ANY INDUSTRY that relies on free govt money to do business also accepts the regulations that go with that free money. Sorry, most AMERICANS don't shop around, their employers do. Most Americans rely on employer-sponsored healthcare (which is why job creation is effected by health care costs and unemployment reduces the number covered) The bill does allow for SHOPPING AROUND.
@priorzola, half of our code of regulations is applied to the HC industry, we might not be the most regulated, but there are negative consequences to excessive regulation.
Doctors get paid the most in the US, because it takes years of standarized training and testing to become a doctor in the US. In the same way, drugs must pass many phases of testing before they hit the market, and the test must be paid for by the company. This might keep us safer, but it raises cost.
Basic, the LACK of regulations over the 14years of neocon control of Congress until 2006 is what has caused RECORD PROFITS while 19% of once-insured Americans have been kicked off the rolls under the Bush Administration, not the other way around. REGULATIONS are meant to protect the consumer. DRUG TESTING does that and the government requiring that NOT SO PRIVATE INSURERS don't reject or eject customers for bogus reasons does so as well. If you don't want REGULATIONS stop taking FREE MONEY.
priorzola So what is the solution then - a public option does not lower cost - it might lower prices.
The solution I support gest HC spending in the hand of the patient so efficient businesses can be rewarded.
Yes, regulation protects the consumer, but there are consequences - like HC becoming unaffordable. We can make HC "perfect" but no one could afford it b/c of the cost of doing so.
Insurance used to mean insurance against those things we have no control over, not everyday needs.
basic, more access to healthcare does indeed lower costs because it allows people to seek treatment when they're initially sick, not waiting for expensive emergency services. And, your argument about healthcare regulations and cost doesn't jive. Countries with even more regulations are able to rein in costs because of streamlined funding & because insurers arent gouging the customers for unearned bonuses. Most peoples health is uncontrollable. You can't control a car accident or genetic disease.
Basic, I know neocons like Michelle Bachmann have taught you that it's ok just to spew information as if it's factual without one scintilla of FACTUAL support for what is essentially an opinion. And neocons like Bachmann are notorious for having factless opinions. You can't just say that PUBLIC OPTIONS drive up costs when a NON-PUBLIC OPTION America has the highest cost healthcare in the world. It's nearly double what the rest of the world pays. So that obliterates another talking point.
@priorzola I'm a Libaterian, or try to be. I know Bachmann and Grayson are not offering any solutions, just political propaganda that maintains the states power or their jobs.
Can you explain with your same logic why the public educational system is failing, or why scores remain flat while inflation-adjusted spending has continually increased.
Cost is the cost of providing medical procedure X - the health option does not address this. It only addresses the "profits" of insurance co.
basic, being a "LIBERTARIAN" is the new talking point that's meant to really say (in many cases) that I'm really a Republican but after the colossal failures of the Bush years (which was indictment of the failures of conservative policies including DERGEGULATION) I'm too ashamed at admitting to be a REPUBLICAN. Public schools are failing because we tend to pay our teachers the lowest amount of money and there are THREE LAYERS of bureacracy for American schools (federal, state AND local).
Basic, even the so-called "privately" INSURED are not paying full price for procedure X, they are paying a govt subsidized price for that procedure or medicine that often only exists because of further govt funds that paid for the r&d of that procedure and medicine. It streamline the system so that more people are on ONE insurer with the same rules and regulations instead of 1300 "private" insurers who seem to making their policies up as far as who and what is covered as they go along.
Basic, the bulk of costs are being shelled out for paper pushers not because of MEDICAID or MEDICARE specifically but because of the 1300 private insurers with their 1300 sets of DRIFTING policies. Again, the heighten costs of late (healthcare costs are growing 2xs the rate of inflation as record profits are being made while reduced care is being given) shows you what's at root of the problem Profits over people and DEREGULATIONS will not help anybody but the profiteers.
Like I said remove 3rd-party payers - govt. and insurance companies - and the patient can shop where they want. Rewarding efficiency in the face of open competition is how quality improves and cost drops. (General point: without profits, there would be no savings, investment and economic growth - I think you have a problem w/ over-consumption, since many salaries are "profits").
Basic, I have no problem with PROFITS so long as they are made off the efforts of those who are actually accruing the PROFITS and taking the majority of the risk and theyre not got at the expense of providing WORSE SERVICES and less access. The ultimate problem w/ health care is that it does not jive w/ the ISM that matters in our system CONSUMERISM (not capitalism or socialism). CONSUMERISM teaches us to buy what we want NOW not what we'll need LATER.
Lilliputian, Obama and Bush are different sides of the same fascist coin. The same Democrat hacks that handle the puppet called "Obama", were the same group of Clinton loyalists that gave us an unconstitutional war (I mean, "conflict") in Kosovo that killed thousands of innocent civilians, as well as made the ORIGINAL case, in the late '90s, for regime-change in Iraq. That former fraud Al Gore is now the high priest of the climate fraud. Joe Biden is about as credible as Bush. LOL.
lorkops, you're just full of all kinds of talking points. I know the big bad govt is your enemy but if you don't like the greedy, indebted, willfully ignorance that is sometimes our govt, maybe you should look in the mirror. Americans CLAIM that they want a fiscally responsible govt but they themselves have the highest debt ratio of any citizens in the world. They CLAIM that the want to protect the Constitution but most of them haven't even read it let alone can comprehend it.
Lorkops, so if you want to overlook the intellectual laziness and willful ingorance of the American people and it makes it easier for you to blame the govt you hate (and who pays for more your daily needs then you'd be ever willing to admit) than the people who elected them then I guess you'll never get to the heart any one of your random youtube inspired conspiracy wingnut theories.
Lorkops, but I'll take your random off-topic spewings for what they are, someone who has know idea about what's really going on in our healthcare system and needs youtube videos to even begin to assemble an opinion on it. Next time use some facts to back up your tinfoil hat accusations. Your diversion tactics, like bachmanns, might work for some but not for us adults.
Basic, there was a time when there was NO THIRD PARTY and people either DIED or went BANKRUPT trying to healthcare (and that was at a time when services were relatively inexpensive). People AVOIDED 3rd parties when getting credit cards only to watch said BANKS arbitrarily jack up interest rates or lure people (ie college students) to accounts w/o giving them the full disclosure of what they were getting into. You can't expect the average American to have the wherewithal to HAGGLE for a KIDNEY.
Basic, the whole point of INSURANCE (from car, home, health) is that there will be accidents and incidents which are not foreseeable and no one can be expected to have the all the necessary fund to pay for the unexpected especially when, in the case of the majority of Americans, they're already living w/ the highest debt ratio for their citizens of any other country. POOLING funds together from various individuals is the system that allows for funds to be there when you have an emergency.
basic, BASICALLY the so-called PRIVATE health insurers are no different than those who run so-called PRIVATE PRISONS and "charter" schools. These are people who want the govt to do the bulk of the heavy lifting and pay for the most important parts of the system and then all they do is sit back and collect profits off of their handiwork. This is not an issue of "free market" vs. "Socialists" this fake capitalists reaping rewards off of the govt funds that are meant to help the American people.
Basic, but thanks for a) using a diversionary tactic like Bachmann does to AVOID addressing all the points I've made and admitting that you support a failed 19th century economic ideology that has never been successful implemented anywhere in the world ever, and that is your rationale to hating government paid for health insurance (even though existing govt insurers do the same as private insurers for 1/10 the overhead costs). It's more complex than the neocons make it out to be.
Basic, we have employer-based health insurers because the likes of former GM chief Charle Wilson offered such perks to emplyees because those employees were going to try to pull their own resources together to have those benefits. Local union leaders in Akron tried to have a regional poll of benefit funds for workers so that they could not only have benefits but job flexibility. Wilson stepped in and offered EMPLOYER-BASED healthcare to KEEP workers LOYAL so they wouldn't leave GM.
Basic, the TAX CODE (which was written wit plenty of influence of corporate lobbyists) only further enhanced this employer-based system so that INDIVIDUALS would not UNITE to secure their own benefits separate from their employers which would have given them the leverage to leave. The last thing that THEN major manufacturers wanted is employees leaving WITH their benefits intact. The Benefits were meant to enslave the worker and reduce their employment choices.
Basic, the core of this debate is that health insurers have been getting more free money (poured into the system as a whole) while providing less care. The DEREGULATION of business in general (thanks to the neocons) doesn't mean that there is a reduction in CORPORATE WELFARE> So-called "private" insurers don't want to stop the free flow of money, just the requirements placed on that money that means BETTER SERVICE for MORE PEOPLE. It's the failings of the modern business model you're defending
You actually reduce the 3rd-party payer system by deregulation and abolishing many policies that have made the 3rd-party payer system prevalent in the US.
The 3rd-party payer system is not something created by the free-market, but gov. interference in it.
basic, don't act like it's the govt that FORCED all this free money on corporations. it's the other way around. For well over a century but since WWII in earnest most Americans industries have not only WANTED that free govt money but they will pay millions in lobbyist fees to secure BILLIONS in free money. So exactly what FREE MARKET are you talking about. The one that existed when corporations could enslave workers, pollute at will and gouge customers.
gracelikerain, sorry if the Iraq War was worth wasting a TRILLION DOLLARS health care for every man, woman, and child in America for a whole decade is worth a TRILLION DOLLARS. It's called PRIORITIES and it's obvious that the GOPs priority is to KILL and not HEAL.
Yes, the war in Iraq has been costly. It is unfortunate that our former president grew the government so big. But...this healthcare bill is about far more than providing healthcare for those who need it. That could be done without a gov. take-over of the health care industry. The U.S,. government can't run anything worth a crap and they need to leave it alone. They also need to stop spending our grandchildren's future away.
grace, and OFFER up some solutions. The ones that the GOP have offered up (not being to sue a doctor) will hardly effect costs at all and will do NOTHING to enhance access for more Americans. It's not a GOVT TAKE-OVER. It's clear where you getting your talking points from and it's not surprising that they're both free from facts and offer no real answers. The only answer that the GOP has given on health care for 40 years is "IT'S FINE, NO PROBLEMS HERE". That's not an answer.
grace, the GOVT continually paying 50% of an increasing expensive but dysfunctional system that only ENHANCES a CEOS bottom line while it negates the quality and access of care for the majority of Americans is also going to be a colossal waste of your grandchildren's money. I know you like to defend the corporatists who are controlling this failing system, but the last thing they want to do is to provide better care or secure your grandchildren's wealth. They want FREE MONEY w/o ACCOUNTABILITY.
Oral Roberts College student Michelle Bachmann sat there with tears streaming down her cheeks as Oral Roberts told of having a conversation with Jesus & that Jesus was over 900 feet tall (the Statue of Liberty is only about 160 feet), and that Jesus assured Oral that if he opened up an expensive hospital with donated money it'd be a huge financial success.
Purchasing insurance over state lines is already in the Senate bill (see Section 1333), and my former GOP still voted against it. Will Rep. Bachmann vote "no" against her own suggestion when it comes to the House? The wide-eyed looks of desperation and outright lies would sadly tend to reveal that she is not willing to compromise in good faith.
Wow, what a dolt. Even I know that a 51-49 vote wins in the Senate. Her eyes and smile tell you everything. She's as dumb as Boehner, if not more. How she got into congress is beyond me.
It was almost unfair to pair Bachmann up with Grayson. Her stupid radicalism, ignorance, and irrationality are a true reflection of the blind abyss in which the GOP finds itself nowadays. Grayson did a fantastic job of highlighting this during this conversation. She didn't even know what a filibuster is, or how reconciliation works in the Senate. All these ignorant clowns within the GOP are a liability, but the party doesn't seem to understand this, and that's just fine with me.
My common sense says don't trust BACHMANN. She believed in fictional "death panel", was for Palin, believe that being closed to Alaska give you foreign policy experience, and a lot more...
On a side note, she looks like a puppet... her smile is so fake. And during the Bush year, it was done with a simple majority. So she is wrong... again.
I am definitely more with Grayson than this bitch and her lobbyist friends
Here is where Grayson is wrong. Bachmann is actually right with regard to allowing Insurance companies to compete across state lines. This competition would bring down costs.
If you have real competition that brings the cost of policies down, then more people will be able to afford it. The ones that still can't afford insurance do exactly what they do now.
Obviously you don't read too well. If real competition brings the cost of policies down, then more people will be able to afford them than now. Unless you think that no one could afford a policy unless that policy costs nothing. In which case you don't want affordable insurance. You want FREE insurance.
I would love to have a universal health care system but that's not going to happen. But you're simplifying this. Even people who can afford their health insurance are being kicked off because of a pre-exsisting condition. That's wrong. This bill will pass even though I'm not that happy with it but it will be changed as time goes by.
"Even people who can afford their health insurance are being kicked off because of a pre-exsisting condition"
REALLY???????
You're going to tell me that someone willing to pay ANY PRICE for a health insurance policy can't get one? Or do you mean that people with pre-existing conditions should pay the same as a healthier person? I revert back to my Auto Insurance comment. Do you think a person with multible accidents should pay the same as one tha thas NO accidents?
If costs can come down through competition it then reduces the burden on programs like Medicare and Medicaid. Those programs also have a lot of fraud going on through false billing. If those on Medicare and Medicaid could get an itemized list of charges made by the physician to the government people on the system could then report any charges they did not received to a fraud hot line set up. The problem is recipients don't receive a list of charges made in their name by the doctor.
Focker, yea trust her and the $250,000 in corporate welfare her family gets in the form of farm subsidies. Sorry tool, you've not even read the Constitution so stop hiding your irrational fear and willful ignorance behind a dcoument you wouldn't be able to comprehend if your weren't too lazy to read it in the first place.
@priorzola , You and your communist friends dont know shit and you know what else? There are more Americans that support the Bill of Rights over the parasitic marxists in the USA.Tools hahaha
Focker, spare me your COMMUNIST BULL SHIT. You know when a neocon tool has run out of talking points when they pull a Hitler, Socialism, Communism, oh my, talking point out of their ass in lieu of facts. I'm not the one who takes $250,000 in free money from the govt each and every year. That would be BACHMANN and her family farm. AGAIN, you haven't proven that A) you've ever read the CONSTIUTION or B)that anywhere it says ANYTHING against public health care--otherwise MEDICARE wouldn't exist.
Focker, face it, you're a teabagger goon who is simply a modern remorphing of the failed Christian Right goon. Neither the Christian Right nor the Teabaggers have actually read the documents (ie. The Bible and the Constiution) that they like to dangle their irrational fear and willful ignorance around. Goon, you know as much about the Constitution as you know what's on the LOGO CHANNEL. PROTECTING our citizens against CORPORATE PARASITES like health insurers is what the govt is meant to do.
@priorzola, your full of shit and i feel better knowing that your over there on the progressive communist side. You are right about one thing, you and your type need a govt. to protect you cause you cant use the brain.
focker, you're full of talking points. AGAIN< spare me your COMMUNISM spewings. It proves you have nothing substantial to offer the dialogue. TOOL, the big bad government already pays for 50% of all healthcare costs in this country. That means that even if you have insurance, your costs are kept down because of that FREE MONEY. That makes you a welfare recipient whether you realize it or not. Your costs would be TWICE AS MUCH if it weren't for the FREE MONEY. Learn the system before you spew.
Focker, so since this big bad government that you've been trained to hate (like the dutiful neocon tool that you are) is also protecting your welfare recipient ass, what does that say about you. Sorry tool, the red states and their neocon leaders (who have the lowest life expectancies, highest infant mortalities, and most uninsured citizens all while taking more federal funds than their highest rates of poverty asses even contribute) are the last tools who should talk about reforming healthcare.
@Priozola, Dont you even know that most Americans can see right through the marxist take over control scheme decorated up as health-care reform? We aint buying the shit the commies are selling.sorry
Focker, since 57% of Americans want this bill to be passed, I see that not only economics is your strong suit, neither is your MATH. Focker, you are already buying commie-sponsored healthcare, you're just too stupid to know it. You want a purely PRIVATE system? Are you prepared to pay, at least, 2xs as much for your care? Sorry tool, we already have medicare and it can do the same thing that so-called PRIVATE health insurers for 1/10 of the overhead costs> You ever ask yourself why that is?
Focker, clearly you have not asked yourself why Medicare is cheaper and more reliable (and thus makes a mockery of the so-called "private insurers") than "private" insurance. Because for all your spewings, you have not offer one substantial relevant FACT. AGAIN, if you hate COMMUNISTS then I guess you hate BACHMANN and here COMMUNIST -SPONSORED family farm. (Let alone all the other farm and the multitude of CORPORATE WELFARE subsidies that are handed out each year).
Focker, get back to us when your armed with FACTS not Rush Limbaugh talking points. Show us you know even the basics about how our healthcare system is run and already funded. Hell, be a halfway decent CONSERVATIVE (of which the neocon likes of Bachmann are not) and offer some sort of alternative solution. Until then, you need to run along now. There's some teabagging going on down the road and you don't want to miss it.
@priorzola the main fact that I follow is never follow those who want big govt. if i did that would make me a loser slave living under the boot of the elite socialists. Health-care is not a right and you aint born entitled in the USA. learn it love it
Focker, the MAIN FACT is that our healthcare system of GOVERNMENT FUNDS propping up corporate greed is not working. And like the dutiful neocon tool you BLAME those goverment funds and not that greed for those failings. Sorry tool, RED STATES are always taking more from the Federal Govt than they contribute so that means that RED STATERS are already slaves (slaves to a failed neocon theory that has to be propped up w/ BLUE STATE money). Education or CLEAN WATER isn't a RIGHT either. Spare me.
Focker, there is nothing PRIVATE about our healthcare system except for outrageous private wealth in the form of unearned bonuses). Insurers only task is take money from one group of people and give them to another. They DO NOT contribute anything else to a system that is mostly paid for by the govt already. And yet, each increasing year, they are pocketing more of that FREE MONEY while reducing the number of people on the rolls and gouging those who remain. OFFER FACTS not typical govt fear.
Focker, so get back to us when you've got facts, not random put downs that you heard off of Rush Limbaugh. Save the SOCIALISM crap. You have no clue how much FREE GOVT MONEY is infused in the system already and how much the corporatists who you're defending (although they could give a crap about you) are gouging that system for BONUSES while reducing the quality and access to care for the average American. That FREE MONEY is fnot or a CEOs yacht. It's for BETTER CARE for more AMERICANS.
More sick people being able to afford going to the doctor's will obviously create doctor shortages. The solution, you see, is to preserve a system that prevents them from getting treatment.
@kimlene05 They were on their way, but Greece for example had actually used tax payer money to invest in these bad mortgages because Goldman Sachs told them they were triple A lol. Once the American economy slows down, so does the world's and the banking crisis was the catalyst.
13lackLight 6 months ago
@kimlene05 Yes, the whole planet went through a crash that was a result of American banking policies... and while dems didn't do much to control it, bush tried to use it for political gain touting more Americans have homes than ever before. Also, the stimulus has tax cuts in it that don't expire, and the stimulus is just slowing down, not ending.
13lackLight 6 months ago
@kimlene05 Right, but in a crash, revenue goes down, spending goes up (unemployment, which Obama has very little control over, although yes he did extend it by like...8 months). Unemployment isn't going to fix itself over night, it was a BIG crash) and 2.5 million jobs were gained, saved by some of this debt you are complaining about, and finally some of the debt is also for tax cuts to people who actually spend money.
13lackLight 6 months ago
@kimlene05 Just the facts. The unemployment is a result of a crash that happened under Bush's watch when he had super majorities for 6 years, and his party controlled congress since the early 90s.

TheBasicFreedom 2 years ago
BasicFreedom, we ARE NOT the most regulated healthcare system in the world. That is a blatant lie. The countries who we are competing against are far more regulated from the number of GENERAL PRACTICTIONERS to the COST OF PRECEDURES. Comparatively (considering that 50% of all health care costs in America come from the big bad govt) we have very little regulations. Hence the ability of health insurers to keep Americans off the rolls while pocketing the profts. USE FACTS not talking points.
priorzola 2 years ago
prior, the HC industry is extremely regulated.
TheBasicFreedom 2 years ago
Basic, the statment made was that ours is the MOST REGULATED in the world which is a blatant falsehood. ANY INDUSTRY that relies on free govt money to do business also accepts the regulations that go with that free money. Sorry, most AMERICANS don't shop around, their employers do. Most Americans rely on employer-sponsored healthcare (which is why job creation is effected by health care costs and unemployment reduces the number covered) The bill does allow for SHOPPING AROUND.
priorzola 2 years ago
@priorzola, half of our code of regulations is applied to the HC industry, we might not be the most regulated, but there are negative consequences to excessive regulation.
Doctors get paid the most in the US, because it takes years of standarized training and testing to become a doctor in the US. In the same way, drugs must pass many phases of testing before they hit the market, and the test must be paid for by the company. This might keep us safer, but it raises cost.
TheBasicFreedom 2 years ago
Basic, the LACK of regulations over the 14years of neocon control of Congress until 2006 is what has caused RECORD PROFITS while 19% of once-insured Americans have been kicked off the rolls under the Bush Administration, not the other way around. REGULATIONS are meant to protect the consumer. DRUG TESTING does that and the government requiring that NOT SO PRIVATE INSURERS don't reject or eject customers for bogus reasons does so as well. If you don't want REGULATIONS stop taking FREE MONEY.
priorzola 2 years ago
priorzola So what is the solution then - a public option does not lower cost - it might lower prices.
TheBasicFreedom 2 years ago
basic, more access to healthcare does indeed lower costs because it allows people to seek treatment when they're initially sick, not waiting for expensive emergency services. And, your argument about healthcare regulations and cost doesn't jive. Countries with even more regulations are able to rein in costs because of streamlined funding & because insurers arent gouging the customers for unearned bonuses. Most peoples health is uncontrollable. You can't control a car accident or genetic disease.
priorzola 2 years ago
Basic, I know neocons like Michelle Bachmann have taught you that it's ok just to spew information as if it's factual without one scintilla of FACTUAL support for what is essentially an opinion. And neocons like Bachmann are notorious for having factless opinions. You can't just say that PUBLIC OPTIONS drive up costs when a NON-PUBLIC OPTION America has the highest cost healthcare in the world. It's nearly double what the rest of the world pays. So that obliterates another talking point.
priorzola 2 years ago
@priorzola I'm a Libaterian, or try to be. I know Bachmann and Grayson are not offering any solutions, just political propaganda that maintains the states power or their jobs.
Can you explain with your same logic why the public educational system is failing, or why scores remain flat while inflation-adjusted spending has continually increased.
Cost is the cost of providing medical procedure X - the health option does not address this. It only addresses the "profits" of insurance co.
TheBasicFreedom 2 years ago
*Libertarian
TheBasicFreedom 2 years ago
basic, being a "LIBERTARIAN" is the new talking point that's meant to really say (in many cases) that I'm really a Republican but after the colossal failures of the Bush years (which was indictment of the failures of conservative policies including DERGEGULATION) I'm too ashamed at admitting to be a REPUBLICAN. Public schools are failing because we tend to pay our teachers the lowest amount of money and there are THREE LAYERS of bureacracy for American schools (federal, state AND local).
priorzola 2 years ago
@priorzola well I never voted for W. Bush - but this is irrelevant anyway.
I just think you are filtering everything through Left and Right.
TheBasicFreedom 2 years ago
Basic, even the so-called "privately" INSURED are not paying full price for procedure X, they are paying a govt subsidized price for that procedure or medicine that often only exists because of further govt funds that paid for the r&d of that procedure and medicine. It streamline the system so that more people are on ONE insurer with the same rules and regulations instead of 1300 "private" insurers who seem to making their policies up as far as who and what is covered as they go along.
priorzola 2 years ago
@priorzola this proves my point further - corrrect?
TheBasicFreedom 2 years ago
Basic, the bulk of costs are being shelled out for paper pushers not because of MEDICAID or MEDICARE specifically but because of the 1300 private insurers with their 1300 sets of DRIFTING policies. Again, the heighten costs of late (healthcare costs are growing 2xs the rate of inflation as record profits are being made while reduced care is being given) shows you what's at root of the problem Profits over people and DEREGULATIONS will not help anybody but the profiteers.
priorzola 2 years ago
@priorzola correct.
TheBasicFreedom 2 years ago
@TheBasicFreedom and over-consumption, high salaries or waste is best "regulated" through competition - this even applies to government programs.
TheBasicFreedom 2 years ago
Basic, I have no problem with PROFITS so long as they are made off the efforts of those who are actually accruing the PROFITS and taking the majority of the risk and theyre not got at the expense of providing WORSE SERVICES and less access. The ultimate problem w/ health care is that it does not jive w/ the ISM that matters in our system CONSUMERISM (not capitalism or socialism). CONSUMERISM teaches us to buy what we want NOW not what we'll need LATER.

lorkops, you're just full of all kinds of talking points. They CLAIM that the want to protect the Constitution but most of them haven't even read it let alone can comprehend it.
priorzola 2 years ago
Lorkops, so if you want to overlook the intellectual laziness and willful ingorance of the American people and it makes it easier for you to blame the govt you hate (and who pays for more your daily needs then you'd be ever willing to admit) than the people who elected them then I guess you'll never get to the heart any one of your random youtube inspired conspiracy wingnut theories.
priorzola 2 years ago
Lorkops, but I'll take your random off-topic spewings for what they are, someone who has know idea about what's really going on in our healthcare system and needs youtube videos to even begin to assemble an opinion on it. Next time use some facts to back up your tinfoil hat accusations. Your diversion tactics, like bachmanns, might work for some but not for us adults.
priorzola 2 years ago
Basic, there was a time when there was NO THIRD PARTY and people either DIED or went BANKRUPT trying to healthcare (and that was at a time when services were relatively inexpensive). People AVOIDED 3rd parties when getting credit cards only to watch said BANKS arbitrarily jack up interest rates or lure people (ie college students) to accounts w/o giving them the full disclosure of what they were getting into. You can't expect the average American to have the wherewithal to HAGGLE for a KIDNEY.
priorzola 2 years ago
Basic, the whole point of INSURANCE (from car, home, health) is that there will be accidents and incidents which are not foreseeable and no one can be expected to have the all the necessary fund to pay for the unexpected especially when, in the case of the majority of Americans, they're already living w/ the highest debt ratio for their citizens of any other country. POOLING funds together from various individuals is the system that allows for funds to be there when you have an emergency.
priorzola 2 years ago
basic, BASICALLY the so-called PRIVATE health insurers are no different than those who run so-called PRIVATE PRISONS and "charter" schools. These are people who want the govt to do the bulk of the heavy lifting and pay for the most important parts of the system and then all they do is sit back and collect profits off of their handiwork. This is not an issue of "free market" vs. "Socialists" this fake capitalists reaping rewards off of the govt funds that are meant to help the American people.
priorzola 2 years ago
Basic, but thanks for a) using a diversionary tactic like Bachmann does to AVOID addressing all the points I've made and admitting that you support a failed 19th century economic ideology that has never been successful implemented anywhere in the world ever, and that is your rationale to hating government paid for health insurance (even though existing govt insurers do the same as private insurers for 1/10 the overhead costs). It's more complex than the neocons make it out to be.
priorzola 2 years ago
@priorzola We have employer-based insurance b/c of the tax code.
TheBasicFreedom 2 years ago
Basic, we have employer-based health insurers because the likes of former GM chief Charle Wilson offered such perks to emplyees because those employees were going to try to pull their own resources together to have those benefits. Local union leaders in Akron tried to have a regional poll of benefit funds for workers so that they could not only have benefits but job flexibility. Wilson stepped in and offered EMPLOYER-BASED healthcare to KEEP workers LOYAL so they wouldn't leave GM.
priorzola 2 years ago
Basic, the TAX CODE (which was written wit plenty of influence of corporate lobbyists) only further enhanced this employer-based system so that INDIVIDUALS would not UNITE to secure their own benefits separate from their employers which would have given them the leverage to leave. The last thing that THEN major manufacturers wanted is employees leaving WITH their benefits intact. The Benefits were meant to enslave the worker and reduce their employment choices.
priorzola 2 years ago
Basic, the core of this debate is that health insurers have been getting more free money (poured into the system as a whole) while providing less care. The DEREGULATION of business in general (thanks to the neocons) doesn't mean that there is a reduction in CORPORATE WELFARE> So-called "private" insurers don't want to stop the free flow of money, just the requirements placed on that money that means BETTER SERVICE for MORE PEOPLE. It's the failings of the modern business model you're defending
priorzola 2 years ago
@priorzola right, we agree here.
You actually reduce the 3rd-party payer system by deregulation and abolishing many policies that have made the 3rd-party payer system prevalent in the US.
The 3rd-party payer system is not something created by the free-market, but gov. interference in it.
TheBasicFreedom 2 years ago
basic, don't act like it's the govt that FORCED all this free money on corporations. it's the other way around. For well over a century but since WWII in earnest most Americans industries have not only WANTED that free govt money but they will pay millions in lobbyist fees to secure BILLIONS in free money. So exactly what FREE MARKET are you talking about. The one that existed when corporations could enslave workers, pollute at will and gouge customers.

grace, and OFFER up some solutions. That's not an answer.
priorzola 2 years ago
grace, the GOVT continually paying 50% of an increasing expensive but dysfunctional system that only ENHANCES a CEOS bottom line while it negates the quality and access of care for the majority of Americans is also going to be a colossal waste of your grandchildren's money.

But it turned out to be a horrible failure.
Now that Oral has gone to meet up with Jesus...
Jesus got some 'splain' to do.

everything that bitch says from 1:33 to 2:14 is NOT TRUE.
either she is uninformed, or is outright lying or both.
this is NOT a nuclear option, and reconciliation has been used before many times, (especially under Bush). and no "rule" is being broken.
but don't take my word for it, do some research on you're own.
she and the rest of republicans are afraid of a vote, that's why they are stonewalling it.
dirtywilly26 2 years ago
VisionQuest2012,
Purchasing insurance over state lines is already in the Senate bill (see Section 1333), and my former GOP still voted against it. Will Rep. Bachmann vote "no" against her own suggestion when it comes to the House? The wide-eyed looks of desperation and outright lies would sadly tend to reveal that she is not willing to compromise in good faith.

damn this lady is as dumbshit as sarah palin

Wow, what a dolt. Even I know that a 51-49 vote wins in the Senate. Her eyes and smile tell you everything. She's as dumb as Boehner, if not more. How she got into congress is beyond me.

why did the Rep fix this during "their" 6 years? To much war??? fuckers

All these ignorant clowns within the GOP are a liability, but the party doesn't seem to understand this, and that's just fine with me.
armyveteran101st 2 years ago
"The Nuclear Option" involves getting rid of the Filibuster ENTIRELY. This bitch is either lying or stupid.

What are the Republicans doing letting that twit Bachmann on the air with Grayson in a fair debate? She just got her clock cleaned.

I don't agree with that example of "government run auto insurance":
- A car is does NOT live longer with auto insurance.
- This is NOT a government take over of the health care. Without the OPTIONAL medicare buy-in, the bill is almost worthless
If the car insurance is optional & cheaper with no preexisting condition, I definitely get a quote and find out. Same here with health care.

So she is wrong... again.
I am definitely more with Grayson than this bitch and her lobbyist friends
yes4me 2 years ago
Here is where Grayson is wrong. Bachmann is actually right with regard to allowing Insurance companies to compete across state lines. This competition would bring down costs.
VisionQuest2012 2 years ago
So what happens to all the people who don't have health insurance? Answer that one
Fringe111 2 years ago
If you have real competition that brings the cost of policies down, then more people will be able to afford it. The ones that still can't afford insurance do exactly what they do now.
mickeysears 2 years ago
So 46 million people go without ins.? That so American of you
Fringe111 2 years ago
Obviously you don't read too well. If real competition brings the cost of policies down, then more people will be able to afford them than now. Unless you think that no one could afford a policy unless that policy costs nothing. In which case you don't want affordable insurance. You want FREE insurance.
mickeysears 2 years ago
I would love to have a universal health care system but that's not going to happen. But you're simplifying this. Even people who can afford their health insurance are being kicked off because of a pre-exsisting condition. That's wrong. This bill will pass even though I'm not that happy with it but it will be changed as time goes by.
Fringe111 2 years ago
"Even people who can afford their health insurance are being kicked off because of a pre-exsisting condition"
REALLY???????
You're going to tell me that someone willing to pay ANY PRICE for a health insurance policy can't get one? Or do you mean that people with pre-existing conditions should pay the same as a healthier person? I revert back to my Auto Insurance comment. Do you think a person with multible accidents should pay the same as one tha thas NO accidents?
mickeysears 2 years ago
If costs can come down through competition it then reduces the burden on programs like Medicare and Medicaid. Those programs also have a lot of fraud going on through false billing. If those on Medicare and Medicaid could get an itemized list of charges made by the physician to the government people on the system could then report any charges they did not received to a fraud hot line set up. The problem is recipients don't receive a list of charges made in their name by the doctor.

My common sense says trust BACHMANN
and dont trust anyone who does not follow the Constitution, health-care is only a right under the old communist USSR Constitution

Your common sense says trust Bachmann? Than you have no common sense....sorry.
jensen1901 2 years ago
Focker, yea trust her and the $250,000 in corporate welfare her family gets in the form of farm subsidies. Sorry tool, you've not even read the Constitution so stop hiding your irrational fear and willful ignorance behind a dcoument you wouldn't be able to comprehend if your weren't too lazy to read it in the first place.
priorzola 2 years ago
@priorzola , You and your communist friends dont know shit and you know what else? There are more Americans that support the Bill of Rights over the parasitic marxists in the USA.Tools hahaha
Fockersnextdoor 2 years ago
@Fockersnextdootr, I sorry It is impossible to argue with an idiot like you. Communist?
wtfoof 2 years ago
Focker, spare me your COMMUNIST BULL SHIT. You know when a neocon tool has run out of talking points when they pull a Hitler, Socialism, Communism, oh my, talking point out of their ass in lieu of facts. I'm not the one who takes $250,000 in free money from the govt each and every year. That would be BACHMANN and her family farm. AGAIN, you haven't proven that A) you've ever read the CONSTIUTION or B)that anywhere it says ANYTHING against public health care--otherwise MEDICARE wouldn't exist.
priorzola 2 years ago
Focker, face it, you're a teabagger goon who is simply a modern remorphing of the failed Christian Right goon. Neither the Christian Right nor the Teabaggers have actually read the documents (ie. The Bible and the Constiution) that they like to dangle their irrational fear and willful ignorance around. Goon, you know as much about the Constitution as you know what's on the LOGO CHANNEL. PROTECTING our citizens against CORPORATE PARASITES like health insurers is what the govt is meant to do.
priorzola 2 years ago
@priorzola, your full of shit and i feel better knowing that your over there on the progressive communist side. You are right about one thing, you and your type need a govt. to protect you cause you cant use the brain.
Fockersnextdoor 2 years ago
focker, you're full of talking points. Learn the system before you spew.
priorzola 2 years ago
Focker, so since this big bad government that you've been trained to hate (like the dutiful neocon tool that you are) is also protecting your welfare recipient ass, what does that say about you. Sorry tool, the red states and their neocon leaders (who have the lowest life expectancies, highest infant mortalities, and most uninsured citizens all while taking more federal funds than their highest rates of poverty asses even contribute) are the last tools who should talk about reforming healthcare.
priorzola 2 years ago
@Priozola, Dont you even know that most Americans can see right through the marxist take over control scheme decorated up as health-care reform? We aint buying the shit the commies are selling.sorry
Fockersnextdoor 2 years ago
Focker, since 57% of Americans want this bill to be passed, I see that not only economics is your strong suit, neither is your MATH. Focker, you are already buying commie-sponsored healthcare, you're just too stupid to know it. You want a purely PRIVATE system? Are you prepared to pay, at least, 2xs as much for your care? Sorry tool, we already have medicare and it can do the same thing that so-called PRIVATE health insurers for 1/10 of the overhead costs> You ever ask yourself why that is?
priorzola 2 years ago
Focker, clearly you have not asked yourself why Medicare is cheaper and more reliable (and thus makes a mockery of the so-called "private insurers") than "private" insurance. Because for all your spewings, you have not offer one substantial relevant FACT. AGAIN, if you hate COMMUNISTS then I guess you hate BACHMANN and here COMMUNIST -SPONSORED family farm. (Let alone all the other farm and the multitude of CORPORATE WELFARE subsidies that are handed out each year).
priorzola 2 years ago
Focker, get back to us when your armed with FACTS not Rush Limbaugh talking points. Show us you know even the basics about how our healthcare system is run and already funded. Hell, be a halfway decent CONSERVATIVE (of which the neocon likes of Bachmann are not) and offer some sort of alternative solution. Until then, you need to run along now. There's some teabagging going on down the road and you don't want to miss it.
priorzola 2 years ago
@priorzola the main fact that I follow is never follow those who want big govt. if i did that would make me a loser slave living under the boot of the elite socialists. Health-care is not a right and you aint born entitled in the USA. learn it love it
Fockersnextdoor 2 years ago
Focker, the MAIN FACT is that our healthcare system of GOVERNMENT FUNDS propping up corporate greed is not working. And like the dutiful neocon tool you BLAME those goverment funds and not that greed for those failings. Sorry tool, RED STATES are always taking more from the Federal Govt than they contribute so that means that RED STATERS are already slaves (slaves to a failed neocon theory that has to be propped up w/ BLUE STATE money). Education or CLEAN WATER isn't a RIGHT either. Spare me.
priorzola 2 years ago
Focker, there is nothing PRIVATE about our healthcare system except for outrageous private wealth in the form of unearned bonuses). Insurers only task is take money from one group of people and give them to another. They DO NOT contribute anything else to a system that is mostly paid for by the govt already. And yet, each increasing year, they are pocketing more of that FREE MONEY while reducing the number of people on the rolls and gouging those who remain. OFFER FACTS not typical govt fear.
priorzola 2 years ago
Focker, so get back to us when you've got facts, not random put downs that you heard off of Rush Limbaugh. Save the SOCIALISM crap. You have no clue how much FREE GOVT MONEY is infused in the system already and how much the corporatists who you're defending (although they could give a crap about you) are gouging that system for BONUSES while reducing the quality and access to care for the average American. That FREE MONEY is fnot or a CEOs yacht. It's for BETTER CARE for more AMERICANS.

A better question is, OaktownWhiteboy, "would you choose to have health care from:
1. The US
2. Netherlands
3. Spain
4. Canada
5. Venezuela
Shall I go on? Have you talked to anyone from another country about their health care?

Reason health care is so high?
Profits have gone through the roof...record profits for the last 20 years!
A public option would put health care back to a resaonable cost...everyone knows that, except Shit brains!
The only reason for higher prices...greed!
Healthcare take over has already happened about 20 years ago!

More sick people being able to afford going to the doctor's will obviously create doctor shortages. The solution, you see, is to preserve a system that prevents them from getting treatment.
