Wt(hell) how can a song about a mermaid be sexist, if he wanted the lower part he certainly got it, I would have found other ways for the mermaid to work out her neck and head muscles but then again it's just a song about a mermaid heads or tails
@zoushaomenohu Actually Shel Silverstein set it to music on his 1964 album. It showed up as a poem in Playboy a year later. A number of artists have recorded it, such as Bobby Bare. Great Big Sea heard it by a Canadian artist and mistakenly thought he wrote it. Nevertheless they do it best. Not so much the album version, but like so many of their songs the live version is better!
The hilarious thing is who actually wrote this. It was originally a poem by Shel Silverstein. Great Big Sea just had the privilege of setting it to music. :D
