  • And before anyone asks Jesus himself affirms the ten commandments, hence why they are still appropriate to Christians.

  • @Gurn92 =can you refer me to a chapter and verse in the Bible where Jesus confirms the 10 Commandments for Christians; I assume that you keep the Sabbath then?

  • This desperation to try and justify homosexuality via the Bible just shows that there is a self interested agenda here.

  • England, bisexual 5 years, Christian Anglicism 2 years, University and working.

Who ever I marry will become out of love not by gender and god loves me no matter what.

  • @Gurn92 , YOU DISGUST ME

  • 3:12 "I respect and revere those who have come to know God through other faith journeys"

That is a contradiction of Jesus saying He alone was the way the truth and the life, and that no man comes to the Father except through Him

  • Why I refuse atheism

  • I love this man. He is an upstanding man of God and makes me proud to call myself a Christian. We can all learn a lesson from Bishop Robinson.

  • Why would you become Christian of any description while being a practicing homosexual, that would mean acting completely contrary to Christian doctrine it's absurd and ludicrous. You have a few verses in deuteronomy, leviticus and st paul which forbid homosexuality. If that's not enough the bible strictly states that marriage is for a man and a woman and sex is only for inside marriage. This guy is delusional and is shooting from the wrong corner

  • @Gurn92 the new testament says nothing about homosexuality

  • @bangtizzy That shows your extreme ignorance, you should support your statement with premises rather than making off the cuff remarks. I will refer you to Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 1 Timothy 1:10. These verses along with the ones of the old testament are enough to stand on their own, let alone when the Bible and particularly in the New Testament stresses the importance of marriage between a man and a woman. Obviously you have huge liberal bias and are trying to distort Biblical text.

  • @Gurn92 my extreme ignorance? You're the one making assumptions. What quotes from the new testament speak about homosexuality specifically?

  • @Gurn92 What did Jesus say on the subject? Also, read the original King James version: what does 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 says...please quote it here.... what does the Bible say and where on same sex between women? one verse please...

  • @Gurn92 I recommend a video (on Netflix too)...For The Bible Tells Me So; also read Dirt, Greed and Sex by William Countryman (have the Bible by your side).

  • @Gurn92 What about the same versus in Deuteronomy that forbid eating pork, shrimpt, rabbit; having a tatoo; having clothes made out of two different materials; stoning someone who was disobedient to his or her parents; stoning a woman who was raped who did not cry out for help; marrying a foreigner, burning your daughter to keep a vow to God; do you follow those commandments as well?

  • @ladyesq64 The laws from the first five books of Moses (Pentateuch) are part of what is known as the old covenant from God to Moses. It is replaced by the new covenant of Jesus from the new testament, which replaces the old laws. This is why Christians eat pork and Jews do not.

  • @Gurn92 -I am glad that we can agree that Christians are not bound by the Old Testament; so you only have three versus in the entire New Testament that support your claim that homosexuality is forbidden. Well, my first question is what does Matthew 19:12 mean to you when it Jesus says "some are born eunuchs from their mother's womb." Who is Jesus referring to in that passage? where in the New Testament (give me a site from an original translation) that says homosexuality is a sin.

  • @ladyesq64 Firstly I do believe that eunuchs refers to castrated men or men with nonfunctioning genitals. And in context in Matt 19:20 Jesus was talking about lifelong marriage between a man and a woman and states afterward that "Not all men can recieve this precept." Which is most likely because they are 'eunuchs.'

I think you are again, trying your utmost hardest to biblically justify homosexuality.

  • @Gurn92 - I agree that enuchs refers to men who are castrated... since men cannot be born castrated, Jesus was speaking figuratively. I do not necessarily believe in Matthew 19:20 that Jesus was refering to homosexuals, but my point was that despite all of the anti-gay rhetoric about procreation--Jesus acknowledges that some people were men where they would not be united with a woman (for whatever reason).

  • @Gurn92 --to your second point, that I am trying to justify homosexuality--I do not have to justify it. I am just saying that it is not a moral sin...Homosexuality is not found anywhere in the 10 Commandments, the Hebrew Moral code; Jesus never discusses it or condemns it; where same sex references (the two or three versus) that are found in the New Testament it is taken out of context and culture. Translations had added the word homosexual, but it is not found in the original Greek text.

  • @ladyesq64 --I meant to say the Ten Commandments OR the Hebrew Moral Code (it is only in the ritual section-ie. Lev. and Deut.) where things that were forbidden then are not forbidden now (i.e. eating pork, wearing clothes out of different materials, not keeping the Sabbath, having a tatoo, etc. were all an abomination). Women who were on their menstrual side were unclean and you could not go near them (an example of what unclean means in the Bible)--

  • @Gurn92 -you cannot always define immorality from what is stated in the Bible; do you think it is immoral for a 40 year old man to have sex with a 13 year old? Do you think it was immoral for Joseph to have sex with marry? Please answer the question. Do you think that it was immoral for David and Solomon to have multiple wives? Do you think that Abraham should have been put to death for having a mistress (as Lev. and Deut requires??) Do you advocate that homosexuals be put to death?

  • @Gurn92 --Finally, you still have not showed me one verse in the Bible (from the King James Version) that says that same sex relations or homosexuality is immoral or a sin. What is your verse. The sins listed in Romans 1 are not the acts against nature by men and women---the sins are found in Romands 1:29-30....that list does not mention homosexuality. What did Jesus say on the issue is always the most important question. Also read: Acts 15 in its entirety..homosexuality is not mentioned.

  • @Gurn92 --Oh I know I said finally, but one more point...the fact that homosexuals cannot procreate does not support that it is a sin. I am a heterosexual married female and I cannot procreate; heterosexuals who take birth control cannot procreate (is that a sin?); heterosexuals who masterbate cannot procreate; is that a sin; heterosexuals who have anal and oral sex do not procreate (is that a sin)...it use to be a crime and was considered sodomy? Is that immoral; is that sin? Can you answer?

  • @ladyesq64 I'll pm you because you are clogging this comments section up far too much.

  • @Gurn92 --thanks...email me at kmtesq@aol.com; You can give me a list of books to read and I will give you a list as well--make us both enlightened on the subject :-)

  • @ladyesq64 Also, Jesus' firm teaching on lifelong marriage that is defined as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman strongly rules homosexuality out in and of itself regardless of the verses that condemn it directly anyway.

  • @Gurn92 see my comment below..I mean to say what does Jesus mean in Matthew 19:12....thank you...

  • sin is a NOT a right

  • @jayhawk88z THINKING homosexuality is a sin, doesnt make it a sin.

  • even though i do not believe in organized religion, i fell that GOD is working here.

  • sin is a NOT a right

  • @jayhawk88z discrimination is a sin.

  • I am a new convert to the Episcopal Church and I am so proud we have Holy Spirit filled modern day Apostles such as Bishop Robinson leading our church. Even though I am in Alabama, I am comforted by the teachings and peace preached by this man of God.

If God is Love, and as Satan cannot immitate or corrupt the powers of God, I am assured that this man is an annointed and appointed servant and messenger of God.

God bless Gene Robinson, the Episcopal Church, and Emory for hosting this.

  • @Ianlowen - can't be gay and Christian eh? That's like saying you can't be a Christian and sin. Who are any of us to decide if someone is a Christian or not? What is the criteria? If he has faith, then he is saved. Fact. No-one can confess Jesus is lord except by the holy spirit. Peace.

  • Unrepentant sinner?! To repent means to change your mind. This man changed his mind from unbelief to belief. If you believe Jesus is lord you are saved. God bless this man and all like him.

  • @bagospannerz

I don't think I'm gunna worship any god who goes against the rights of the people to do as they please to themselves or others (with permission granted of course by all those involved). The only way you can strip rights is if one person harms another, not via a third party decision made by someone outside the situation.

This man, is the real man you ought to listen to.

Freedom to do for all who choose.

Destruction of those who only abuse.

  • @bagospannerz approving homosexuality is leading people astray. That's false preaching right there. You know what will happen to false preachers don't you?

  • separation of state and church!

  • @roybcorp ? Did you come to the wrong video?

  • You cannot be a Christian and be practicing homosexuality.

  • @IanLoewen Not true. Pray for your understanding on this issue. Let others pray for their own understanding. And leave the last word to God. Leave room for God to speak on this and other issues. Gene Robinson, being gay and a Christian, has had cause to pray and deeply listen to God on this issue. Are you praying as hard as he is on this issue?

  • @thisgirlshair I do leave room. It says in the Bible though that homosexuality is abominable. I am not judging, I am warning. If people want to follow God, they should heed these verses.

  • also, this man is an unrepentant sinner and is leading the church astray with his own teachings. They warn in the Bible of false preachers and this man is one of them.

  • @IanLoewen 1 Corinthians 6:9-1 says: “neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” How many people have pre-marital sex, get drunk, covet material things etc. Are you as judgmental against these people. What does Jesus say on the subject of homosexuality: give me one verse please.

  • @ladyesq64 Abusers of themselves with mankind is homosexuality (it can also be a multitude of other sins). It is also understood to be women with each others too. Don't think that I am trying to single out homosexuals. I am just pointing out what the Bible say. Before going off on me, realize that I am coming from a viewpoint that we are all sinners deserving death (Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord).

  • @IanLoewen Therefore, we ought to examine ourselves before correcting others. Correcting others is not passing judgement. Whenever you allow your personal thoughts to interfere (like name calling for instance or saying somebody is going to be damned), you sin. We should correct each other in love, not hate.

  • @IanLoewen and also, about your comment on eating shrimp, pork, etc., the Old Testament law was designed to be a mirror by showing how sinful man is, not "this is what you have to do to gain salvation." Eating restrictions were part of the Covenant Law that Jesus fulfilled. They sacrificed goats, heifers, etc. before he paid the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Therefore, Christ delights in submission to him, not sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22).

  • @IanLoewen The Bible also says that eating shrimp or pork is an abomination; having a tatoo is an abomination; wearing clothes out of two different materials is an abomination....what does the Bible (anywhere) say about same sex between two women---not one single verse in the entire Bible....

  • @thisgirlshair wonderful powerful point! Well said.

  • @IanLoewen LOL did you say "practicing Homosexuality" LMFAO! I gotta tell ya, it cracks me up to see people talk about things they know nothing about.........Maybe you should stick to, how to please your mother sister while being dominated by your pastor with out your daddy uncle finding out....

  • @IanLoewen So what part of being taught morality by pedophiles is coherent to you?...LMFAO!!! How do you "practice Homosexuality" ?? Do you practice Heterosexuality? Practice? LMFAO who talks like that? (brain-washed un-educated morons do) ROFL!

  • @brianh406 doing homosexual behavior is the sin (I will put it clear for you). I think you need some education yourself as you jump to conclusions in saying that all preachers are pedophiles.

  • @IanLoewen Excuse my ignorace but how do you "do Homosexual behavior?" I dont understand....Thats like saying someone does blue eye color, or a person does 5 foot 7 inches.....

  • @brianh406 not quite. There is a difference between being born a homosexual and having tendencies. One, you must do the behavior, and the other, you can avoid the behavior. You may have homosexual tendencies, but by no means are you born a homosexual. What would it look like if we let people born with the tendency to set buildings on fire carry out their behavior? In the same way, you are not born an arson. Rather, you have that tendency.

  • @IanLoewen Are you comparing Loving Homosexual relationships to Arsonist? LMFAO You know the xtian has no argument WHEN their argument is WAAAAY off subject....ROFL! You sure seem to think you know a lot about Homosexuality........Have you studied the Homosexual for awhile now? Silly little girl....

  • @brianh406 the argument is not off subject. You claim homosexuals are "born that way" (which they are not ((rather, they have tendencies))). See what I said earlier about tendencies. Like I said, arsonists are the same way (tendencies, but not born that way). So, back to the question, using your logic, shouldn't we let arsonists carry out their behavior since you think they are born that way?

  • @IanLoewen Homosexuals aren't born Homosexual? Can you prove this? Im kidding I know you cant....You are sooooo ridiculous! So a loving human relationship can be compared to an Arsonist relationship with fire....LMFAO! Im actually shaking in laughter right now..... So do you think Homosexuals are faking it? ROFL

  • @brianh406 loving relationships? Then you tell me why there is so little commitment among homosexual couples. I will send you a study if you want one. Also, look up Stephen Bennett or Richard Weller if you think that you cannot change being homosexual.

  • @IanLoewen Uh really "little commitment among homosexual couples" How many Homosexual couples do you know? OH thats right you goggled a study, sorry you mentioned that.....I do know of some Homosexuals who would certainly fit your "googled study". They also have some serious problems with their family's and society. They are seen as taboo by the ones who should love them and YOU. How hilarious is your logic! You say Gays have a hard time with commitment while denying us Marriage??? LMFAO!!!!

  • @brianh406 I know homosexuals too (I have some for friends). I pray for them that they would turn from their behavior. Homosexual behaviors can be changed (see Richard Weller and Stephen Bennett if you do not believe me).

  • @IanLoewen OMG! How many times have I heard. "I disagree with Homosexuality and I have Gay friends" LMFAO! How about you talk to them about them being faggots and how you pray for their queer asses:-) See how your "friendship" is then (I kidding of course you have no friends I MEAN Gay friends of course) So how are your prayers working out for you, hit and miss? ROFL!

  • @brianh406 how would you know if I had any gay friends. You are not me. Why don't you look at the people I was telling you to and then respond (Weller and Bennett).

  • @IanLoewen BECAUSE IM GAY! I run into losers like you way too often. All you bigots are exactly the same man....You try to rationalize hatred from bronze age books and lies...One of lies bing being you have "Gay friends"....Thats like me condemning Black People to hell and calling them "N" and then saying "Its all cool folks I have black friends" lol You're a joke.

  • @brianh406 you are accusing me of something I did not do though (condemning and calling you the "fa" word). Please look up Stephen Bennett and see if you have any questions in your head after listening to or reading about him. Quit thinking that I hate you. If you want to send a comment to me personally (other than this video comment section), go to under my username and click send message and go ahead. Again, I do not hate you.

  • @IanLoewen I feel sorry for you.....Live and let live........Educate yourself with reality and what will come from it is more pleasurable than any fictional book you can find, no matter how old it is:-)

  • @IanLoewen

Maybe homosexual behabior can be changed, but someone who is homosexual cannot be turned into a heterosexual. Recent scientific discovery proofs that homosexual people have a different brain than heterosexual people. Since it is impossible to change a brain, it is impossible to change a homosexual into a heterosexual person. And why would you want to turn gay people into straight people? Why? When a gay person is happy why try to make him straight?

  • @IanLoewen AGAIN AGAIN I I ASK ASK YOU YOU Again I ask you Again I ask you Again I ask you.......You hear me now? Again I ask you: HOW do you practice Homosexuality?

  • Comment removed

  • i thought this was a free country? religion shouldnt be considered when it comes to human rights.

  • @AARONSNAPNECK

damn right my friend, damn fucking right

  • Great guy. :)

  • You sound like Fred Phelps.

  • you cant be a christian and have a fucking brain
