So many and absolutely beautiful! If you take away the fish-shape and the water, you can almost pretend it's a herd of horses galloping in the field...
@caroleiutube The rest of the video is very choppy since the boat was running and bouncing along the waves. And loud because of the outboard motor. This really is the only part worth posting.
They weren't frightened, they were bored. They swam along with us while the boat was running, but when we stopped to take pictures, they decided to do their own thing. They clearly weren't afraid of us in our tiny boat, as they swam along side us instead of away from us.
Sweet! What kind of burley were you using? It works!
Everyone loves dolphins but no one loves tuna. I'm for equality of animal rights, that's why one day I would like to see tuna friendly dolphin meat sold in super markets!
Dolphins are amazing creatures, my mother always tells me storys of the Florida beaches, where they would swim up to you. The cove is a movie that is a must see for any dolphin lover. People love whales, i love dolphins. Lol i'll make my own show called "Dolphin Wars" and the theme song will start off, "The world is a werewolf da na na nuh na na nuhhh".
@blackpowerfreak people love whales and dolphins, people love wolves and dogs, peolple love butterflies and moths..rabbits and deer, people love cats, lions, tigers....people shoud love all of Mother Nature and the Animal Kingdom..x
@blackpowerfreak ..and yeah, that's a good idea..when we all learn to respect and honour nature, - to live and work with it, rather than against it - we will all live in and be @ peace. x
why are humans so stupid when comes to animal behavior? please humans ask yourself, why an animal is doing that? stressed and running like that? jumping? obviously something is going on...guess what?
they are being attacked/followed by a WHITE SHARK most likely
fucking humans, learn to communicate, animals can't talk but learn to read their behavior
@TengoNoNombre Are you serious? Those dolphins would NEVER run from a White. They would, however, kill it for fun. They are more than likely heading to a bait ball or some other food source. They aren't running from anything.
@TengoNoNombre Nope, I wasn't there. At the same time, a pod of 3-4 bottle nose can easily take out a White or Tiger shark...let alone what looks to be 500+. A vocal warning/announcement of a feeding opportunity can cause a mass pod like that to move in such a hurry. That leads me to believe they weren't stressed or running. They certainly weren't being chased by a shark LOL! Dolphins own sharks. The hide these secrets in books.
@TengoNoNombre umm actually dolphins can easily take out a great white especially a huge pod like that. they are most likely going towards food but they arent running
that didn't really seem like a stampede because it wasn't violent and no one got hurt. but anyways- amazing video. I can't imagine seeing that out of nowhere
There are only about 200 - 300 individuals; not much in terms of this species. On the ocean however, dolphin communities may contain thousands and sometimes even tens of thousands of individuals.
i wouldn't have been freaked out--i would've been in the water trying to hitch a ride.......I feel bad for anyone who only gets to see things on youtube

If you can - consider donating a small amount to support their heroic and brave actions.
that was amazing!!! we jumped in with some the other day but they had a baby with them so they swam away :( i love dolphins..theres a lot around where i live
wow that must have been amazing, If I could i would have jumped in and swim with them, of course you can't cuz they are wild dolphins that would be fun though
i saw something like that with the same species of dolphin, the common dolphin just off the harbour inlet in A Coruña in western Spain. That was in mid april 2006. A fantastic view but was beaten by seeing a small pod of Orcas between the Shetlands and the westcoast of Norway during the same voyage. I was at the helm during the shift 04-08 am n the sun had just come up.
I've seen documentary on dolphin movement like this and it's generally associated with a long distance move to find shoals of baitfish. The shoals generally follow the current streams along ridges.
absolutely amazing. my NOLS trip started in bay of LA-- we saw a lot of dolphins and even traveled with some for like three days; but i've never seen this many at one time before. SO AWESOME.
I once played with a small pod while on a jet-ski. They kept circling and jumping, and they seemed to get really excited when I did water-donuts. Then we just hung out a while... but 100's??? My gosh... I'm jealous! ^_^
