Your specs can run Crysis on the highest, and yes it makes a big difference, if you run it in HD too. You see everything sharper, lolol.

I have a E5200 2.5Ghz , 3Gb 667mhz dual channel asymmetric ( that's what it says on start up) and HD 4850 1gb . Do you think my ram also bottlenecks my CPU ( cpu at 800 fsb and ram at 667 ) .

I ran Dirt 2 with 2gb ram not dual and even though ram usage never got past 1.2 GB my average fps in benchmark dropped from 33 fps to 23 fps ultra settings 4xAA ( also on medium settings 2xAA I only get 4-6 fps increase in benchmark with 3 gb ram dual, something isn't wright)

i think you should get an athlon ii x3 425 or something and overclock it to 3 ghz and you will pretty much max the game you dont need a qx9650 or something lol plus athlon ii 425 is dirt cheep these days .. and your motherboard probably supports it and if it doesnt but an athlon 64 x2 6400+ clocked at 3.2ghz oc to maybe 3.6 ghz! and it will do the job but i would recommend the athlon ii
