Actually, if you'd check your own statistics, citizens in the UK pay about 40% of their incomes back to the government while the US only pays around 20-25% so it's a pretty big jump. Also, while people should have healthcare, government run systems are the worst in the world. The privately owned system of the US is the best when it comes to quality healthcare and speedy healthcare. You have waiting lists to be treated! We don't have those and never will with private healthcare.
I'd rather pay for quality healthcare than get government funded healthcare that makes me wait weeks for something that can be immediately treated. All that needs to be done to our healthcare system is to allow citizens to be able to cross state lines for healthcare. That would increase competition and lower prices. A public option would only create artificially low prices that would result in a monopoly of healthcare and an eventual state-run healthcare system.
I live in the UK and if we need treatment by a doctor or in hospital it is provided for by our government, it is a basic human right, and believe it or not our taxes ain't that high! I have a cousin I talk to every day who lives in Arizona and they have plenty of not so legals and where I live we have a ton we joke that it is little Mexico here. Additionally, the Democrats DEFEATED an amendment to explicitly deny illegal immigrants coverage. Their vote supported paying for illegal immigrants coverage.
Even more evidence - Illegal immigrants can get Medicaid and this bill expands who is eligible for Medicaid. This is all very simple

Yeah...because we all know that anyone who speaks out against the first african-american president has to be a racist. It isn't like there are different political ideologies or anything and that Joe Wilson happens to be a Conservative Republican while Barack Obama is a Liberal Democrat. All you do by saying that he is a racist is becoming a racist yourself and stirring up racism across our country.

Actually, if you'd check your own statistics, citizens in the UK pay about 40% of their incomes back to the government while the US only pays around 20-25% so it's a pretty big jump. Also, while people should have healthcare, government run systems are the worst in the world. The privately owned system of the US is the best when it comes to quality healthcare and speedy healthcare. You have waiting lists to be treated! We don't have those and never will with private healthcare.

I'd rather pay for quality healthcare than get government funded healthcare that makes me wait weeks for something that can be immediately treated. All that needs to be done to our healthcare system is to allow citizens to be able to cross state lines for healthcare. That would increase competition and lower prices. A public option would only create artificially low prices that would result in a monopoly of healthcare and an eventual state-run healthcare system.

I live in the UK and if we need treatment by a doctor or in hospital it is provided for by our government, it is a basic human right, and believe it or not our taxes ain't that high! When did health care become a business and not a basic human right? Come on, support Obama, support your people and leave these big business execs behind.

Immigrants have historically contributed to making this nation the most powerful & affluent country in the world. Building the railroads, freeways, making the bricks to the buildings, from growing our food to serving it, from raising the children of the upper classes, cleaning their homes.
