  • Hi Ben, you are realy cool wanting to learn all the stuff, thats called livin!

If you are interested in DC motor controling, for high currents (a Car or a Bike) you should learn more about the IGBT transistors. Those are modern transistors developed specialy for this purpose. Keep on rollin!

  • Good for you Ben, keep up the good, you will now begin to understand a lot of concepts that where unknown till this moment, which will help you design better electric cars.

  • Good on you Ben. Im currently making the same thing. Im building a PWM circuit using a 555 timer chip in the hopes of being able to drive a 600A IGBT to control my electric motor in my electric car. Im hoping to find a less expensive version of commercial EV motor controller. Keep us posted on how you go. :)

  • @itsmeasis

Do a web search for "Open ReVolt" motor controller. It's a motor controller anyone can build, with specs similar to a Curtis 1231, but far less expensive to build yourself.

  • WTG Ben keep learning and showing.
