  • Perfectly done man! Not all the added crap. Just like our country, strong and straight forward.

  • This makes me tear up alot

    God Bless

  • NOT DISTORTED AND JUST A CLEAN VERSION. WAY BETTER THEN THAT KID DOING IT FOR HIS HIGH SCHOOL

  • @TakeABreakGetBaked Thats not clean. Its very distorted.

  • @StevenSmithxxz i believe clean is referrencing the notes, not the tone..

  • @spyfunkr Boring in my opinion. :p

  • @StevenSmithxxz troll on, son

  • @spyfunkr Okay.

  • @TakeABreakGetBaked Thats not clean. Its actually very distorted.

  • NOW THATS THE VERSION I LIKE

  • omg i was there!!

  • No words... done perfectly. God Bless this Country and our right to show our love for it in our own way.

  • @bigmankralc Thank you so much. Every time i play that song, it hits me at the core. I frequently think of the men and women and their families who sacrificed everything so that I could stand in a grassy baseball park and play guitar, among other things. That sounds sappy, but its true. God Bless America, and God Bless you.

  • ELECTRIC GUITARS - ROCK 'N ROLL - AMERICA - FUCK YEAH!!!!

  • Well Done!!!

  • AMERICA!

  • Great job, I like this version =D

I also somewhat agree with some of the people that don't like that extra crap played with the anthem. The only real cover I liked with "extra crap" was Jimmi Hendrix's because the extra playing was meant to represent war.

  • Yea if have to agree, i don't like all the extra crap people put in it. This was perfect.

  • I Am English And Proud But I Absolutely Love The American National Anthem And The Words! So Much Better Than God Save The Queen!!

  • @InhumanRetard You should like the words. lol. They were written about you.

  • that was freaking awesome

  • Do you live in DE bro? we should jam sometime!

  • I 100% agree!

  • This is the way it is supposed to be played. No extra crap, just the song. Youre awesome.

  • @rhbcweatherdude Thanks man! glad you liked it!

  • Hey man can you send me some tabs?

  • great!

  • One of the best renditions I've ever heard, props to you man.

If I may ask, what's your guitar here? Looks like a tobacco burst Peavey Wolfgang from a distance.

  • @PatVanHalen5150 Thanks! i really get a rush outta that song. glad you liked it.

yep, exactly, 2001, bought it new. still love it, but honestly, Peavey actually improved on it after Ed left with the HP Special... slightly wider nut, longer with better balance, and the contour on the back. the HPS also added coil taps on both pups - neither of which i use. the neck pup is WAY better on the wolfie. I use the HPS at gigs, because its more versatile, with the trem and dtuna. Cheers!

  • @spyfunkr

I love some of the custom shop HP specials, but I wish they would have kept the upper horn not as sharp looking. I'm more of an Ernie Ball guy myself, but Peavey still makes a hell of a guitar.

  • @PatVanHalen5150 yeah, you can get SUCH a deal on custom HPS, just like you like em... i agree about the upper horn. when i bought the Wolfie, I was trying to convince myself to get a PRS, but couldnt find a neck that i liked. played a Wolfie and it was settled.. they kill PRS for the price.and custom PRS will run you twice the money a custom HPS. have you tried the EVH Wolfies?

  • @spyfunkr

Never liked PRS. Next to impossible to find one with a Floyd that isnt a custom shop one. I tried an EVH Wolfgang a few months back and didnt care for it. The neck isn't birdseye maple, only the fretboard is. Also, the pickup selector is reverse wired, so it can be confusing. Worth $3,000? Hell no. I'd rather get 2 Ernie Ball Axis guitars for that much money.

  • Same here man, I like this one the best of all.

  • HAH! thanks to the cameraman for giving me a bit of natural flange at :35!!! i never got to thank him for thus vid. if you watch this, pls msg me

  • You sir have won. This is a true National Anthem. My hats off to you

  • @Big2000Powerstroke thanks man, its my true honor!

  • you should teach how to play thus

  • Awsome

  • thanks!

  • BEST version I've heard!!!!

  • awesome.

  • now THAT'S how the star-spangled banner SHOULD b played...no f'd up-off key crap that most ppl try....that was awesome

  • thank you and the other guys, its for the troops, but ultimately, for all of us. i really had a blast playing it

  • What key is it in?

  • @cathodic11 I use A. that was an accident - i wasnt listening to it when i learned it, just grabbed a note. sorry so long to respond

  • agreed!

  • Hell yea! America!

  • great vid thanks foir adding it

  • you nailed it man, perfect no xtra just plain Jane, the way it should be..5*****

  • @SlatanicG0D thanks man

  • @spyfunkr I call it the way I see it!

  • that was super solid man. awesome tone, really full.

  • @thomaslovesyou thank you! who'da thunk a solid state amp could do that???

  • great tone good job and thanks for not adding a bunch of frivolous go no where notes,Hey check out Joe Satriani when he played it at the San Francisco baseball game.

  • Thanks! yeah, ive heard/seen the Satch version... nice and clean, unreal Satch tone, but the timing seemed way off to me

  • it seemed to me that satch was probably short on time he seemed to speed through it.

  • Yeah, you should have raised it by an octave at 1:04. Nice playing though, very clean sounding.

  • thats a great idea! ill try that next time

  • AWESOME version. very simple, but thats the way its supposed to be. thank you for not disrespecting it and adding ridiculous flair to it. awesome.

  • thank you. I actually started doing because i didnt like so many performers (mostly singers) using too much "artistic license". very glad you liked it!!

  • man you should have played and octave up like after the middle or by the end of the song it would have sounded sweet

  • thats a good idea, ill try that

  • Hey dude grea job. Can you send me the tabs? Because yours is amazing

  • Your version is by far the BEST i have ever heard!!!!! that was awesome

  • Well, thanks. I havent been able to get many anthem gigs lately. Havent tried too hard, but I do miss em. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Jimmi Hendrix

  • wow! i kinda play the guitar (but im not very good)

  • how long have you been playing guitar?

  • since i was 12.

  • cool :) im your wifes 2nd cousin, im judy m's daughter, alexandra. you are REALLY good at guitar!

  • well, thats a very nice thing to say, Alexandra!! glad to meet family!!!

  • is that guy that played named chris??

  • yes, thats my name

  • i copied you today

the link to the tabs didnt work so i had to ear learn it

    thanks

  • Nice and simple, good job bro that was awesome!!!

  • thank you!!

  • that was boring as sin

  • finally!!! after 3 years, a negative comment. so, i guess your more into craziness that Hendrix did?

  • well it is boring as sin, check out steve vai version thats how its done :)

  • Ive seen it. Not my bag, but cool for him. I think Vai tends to overdo the whammy on almost every song he plays, including the Anthem. enough people do the Anthem in that masturbatory Hendrix way. actually, most ballparks specifically say "NO HENDRIX"

  • steve vai DOES NOT overdo the whammy on all his songs. he fits it in to match pitch, tone, and emotion/feeling to his music. so dont push that bullshit onto steve he is one of the best players out there.

  • i guess you missed the two key words in my sentence --- "i think". you can think what you want, but please dont state your opinions as fact, and definitely dont start ranting on here, you can do that somewhere else

  • ya, JUNE 30th!! NATIONAL GUITAR DAY!!

  • awesome job! i play this too, but starting on the D string =)

  • ive played guitar for a year now and alot of the songs i want to learn are on d string how do you get it to d string?

  • third lowest string... the order is E A D G B E ... hope this helps!

  • Alright dude ill have to try it sometime thanks for your help its a question thats been bugging me for quite a bit now.

  • Great job! I played this at a 4H event last month, but your version was way better than mine!

  • it seems like a lot of guitarist do the national anthem here

  • Great, Great job --thanks for posting

  • That's a great rendition of the National Anthem! Very cool.

  • Thanks, brother!

  • Great job, I love a clean version like this. Very tasteful .

  • Thank you! I saw your son's video. Wow, what emotion!!! He is really good. Is that a wireless set up? I didnt see a guitar cable....

  • this is AWSOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • hah, thanks!

  • thanks, btw. I would say yes, it does have distortion, gain really, whatever is built into the Flextone III.

  • is this with distortion or without

  • it sounds like with

  • dude you rock hard core

  • Hey this is good, I wanted to do the National Anthem for one of our highschool basketball games, and I wanted something that had a presence of sorts, but wasn't disrespectful. Do you have a tab for this?

  • Thanks! Yep, its in the "More Info" section. This one goes well with High school games, did one last week. Make sure you give a nice pause for the "OHHHHHHHHH" part :)

  • That was awesome.

  • thx man!

  • thank you so much for the tab. ive been looking for one that had presence but not craziness

  • np.. let me know if its wrong :) Dont think I ever played to it

  • awesome and I like how you respond to everyones comments

  • Thanks! Glad you liked it!

  • dude u rock hey what kind of guitar did u use

  • Thanks! Thats a 2001 Peavey Wolfgang std carve top stop tail.

  • Sadly enough you played it better then Vai did.

  • Wow, what a compliment! Thank you! Every time I do the Anthem (and I do it at every one of my bands' shows now) I feel an overwhelming sense of patriotism. In this case, the emotion of the song and the luck of hitting it mechanically converged. Thanks again!

  • But man nice vibratos for sure.. Pretty cool you enjoy doing this song so much because you do a really good job.. Watch Vai's version.. totally overdid himself.

  • Thanks again. yeah, i think your talking about the MTV thing years go? He seems to use it as a reason to show the acrobatics. Somehow, after Jimi, nobody has gotten away with that. i started doing it for the sole purpose of proving that it could be done correctly, without adding notes, runs and craziness and still convey the partiotic point. Satch has done a few baseball games too, and he doesnt go nuts, but the timing is just off - rushed. piece owt!

  • they say pictures worth 1k words...and vids worth 1 mil...i only got 1...AMAZING!!!

  • hey spy, I'm doing the same thing with my Flex III tomorrow at the Hunstville Stars ballgame in Alabama. How did the delay affect you? Did you just crank the amp and focus on that? That's the only thing I'm uncertain about.

    Great job BTW.

  • Thanks. Stadium bounceback is rare. Its really based on where their speakers are in relation to you. Some of the smaller stadiums have these spherical PA speakers placed right in the middle of each stand. If so - ADD delay to your sound. If the speakers are far away, you wont need much. Set two patches, one with more dealy than the other. And yes, CRANK your amp so you can get the harmonics going, you can always turn away if you get too much. Rock on! Send me the vid when your done!

  • thanks for the quick response....

I will put the video up sometime after tomorrow.

    later.

    Andy

  • dude you rock! i wish i was there! i'm always there this year! youtubers need to put more vids bout the shorebirds on youtube!

  • Thanks! wow, i cant believve its been 2 years since i was there. tell those guys to get me back, and ill post another vid! :)

  • lol. i will try and see if i can get on

  • rock on man!!!!!!!! What is the pedal for this

  • Its not an effects pedal, just footswitch for the Line 6 Flextone III XL - killer amp, all the effects built in. Thanks!

  • could i PLEASE have tabs for this!!!

  • link to the tab is in the "More Info" section

  • is that an ME pedal there?

  • mm, no. not sure what the ME pedal is. Nothing but a Flextone III XL and the L6 footpedal

  • that would be multi effects pedal.

  • AHAH! but of course!! Well, the amp has a lot of effects built in. for this Anthem, I used a canned L6 patch called Bad Horsie, which I think is based on a Soldano 100 head, with flange and tons of delay.

  • that was freakin sweet

  • you rock , rock & roll live on forevere

  • Great video. GO SHOREBIRDS!!!

  • great you didnt add all kinds of effects into it to ruin the song you played it perfect

  • Thx. It is a simple and great song. Not much else needed.

  • Great job! I'm singing the National Anthem at that stadium later this month.

  • Thank you! Great place!

  • Awesome! Fantastic job! If you don't mind, what are the specifics regarding amp and effects (delay and overdrive etc)... Thanks so much or sharing these videos -Great!

  • Thank you!! Ok, heres my rig, are you ready? Line 6 Flextone III XL amp. No offboard/inline/anything. I think I even used a built-in patch.

  • you must of been under so much pressure

  • It was a bit, but 4 pints ahead of time helped out. I got there way too early and nothing better to do :) The anthem I did at RFK was very nerve-racking.

  • I bet you were, especially since they probably wanted you to play it SLOOOWLY,

or you just wanted to play it that way.

oh, well... sounds good either way!

  • Thanks! God Bless America!!!

  • Dude that's so awesome!!!! Where can i find tabs for that?

  • Link to the tab is in the info section

  • I got goosebumps when I listened to it.

    Amazing job!

  • Thanks!

  • i like that version cause its the same exact one i learned except i just added a few of my own touches

that songs a great song its patriotic, has good meaning and just plain fun to play

  • Ya know, this is a REALLY good rendition - not flashy, not smarmy, not overdone. Notes hit perfectly, good cadence (maybe a little slow, but that song is good slow). Just a very good show. Well done!!

  • Thanks for the good words! Cheers and Merry Xmas!!!

  • Fantastic! I love it...

  • OMFG AWESOME! Im gonna cry

  • hiii!
