  • id hate to be in that room during a tornado.

  • is it possible to sharpen sharpeners?

  • @iiBeLizzY4EvA Take the sharpening stone and break it.I'm pretty sure that there will be

    sharp pieces.

  • Very nice advise! I've got two nice old [made in USA] Fiskars utilitys that I used to have professionally done, now they want $10 each! New ones are now $16 & made in China. I'm gong to give this a try.

  • ur method is good!!

  • this is a HUGE mistake that people do when sharpening scissors they do what your doing and your trying to actually make the edge sharp when your supposed to be doing the exact opposite your supposed to make both ends flat because scissors don't cut like a knife they split or separate what your trying to cut trust me i do this all the time i know it works! try sliding a nail down both sides

  • Judging from all those magnets behind you, it would probably be good to have a demagnitizer around to demagnitize all your blades etc. Also people are always bringing me knives with bent tips from using magnet strips.

  • I love how he trails off innocently, looking at the scissors "now these shears, are ready, for doing some sowing" clearly his secret hobby :)

  • i really like the way you explain on "how to", i was wondering what this blue stone was,i just bought it not knowing how to use it and is it good for knifes too? it has two sides...a smooth side and a rough side, which side do you use first? also can i use a small hand held drill, it has all of these little tools different shapes but i don't know how to use them, it did not come with instructions. thank you for doing this video..i hope you reply thank you.

  • Thanks! Never before I could sharpen scissors, this really Works! :c)

Gracias! Nunca había podido afilar tijeras, esto de veras Sirve! :c)

  • TURN OFF THE CAPTIONS----SUBTITLE!

  • @cypresspeter2008 YOU ARE INCREDIBLY STUPID! YOU CAN SIMPLY TURN THEM OFF WITH ONE FUCKING CLICK! I HATE RETARDS LIKE YOU!

  • @Koolkid736

    oh.

YOU ARE INCREDIBLY A RUDE ONE.

AND IT IS ONE CLICK---NOT ONE FUCKING CLICK. HATE IS SUCH A STRONG WORD---SEEK THERAPY.

  • I like this video a lot. The instructor is clear and explains the process well. I do not throw away tools -ever. If you take care of them they should last. But scissors have been frustrating b/c they are expensive to have sharpened. Everyone I know throws away their dull scissors. It makes me crazy b/c we live in a "throw away" culture.

*** This video needs to have the subtitles in a different place b/c the scissors demo is covered up! You can't watch the demo!!!

  • @alohala8 word up i cant see shit!!

  • @alohala8

You can move that subtitle window by clicking on it and dragging it away with your mouse.

  • nice videos!

  • @PocketFire You can turn off those subtitles.

  • Considering how easy they are to turn off, I think you might be over-reacting, perhaps just a little.

  • do you own a knife shop?

  • did he say doin some someone at the end? heh heh!

  • most if not all shears are only to be sharpend on outside edge,to keep the tight metal on metal contact "on inside" at the cut sight.

  • you just need to sharpend the outside edge with a machine at an precise angle. that's the whole magic, no one sharpens scissor by hand or else you ruin them. knives are best sharpened with a wet grinder but takes some experience to draw a perfect edge and wet grinding and knife sharpening, worked in slaughterhouse.

  • "you just need to sharpend the outside edge" Thank you for repeating what I said.

  • you are dead wrong. Hand sharpened knives are far superior to machine sharpened. Ask any certified Blade smith.

  • @BigDumbJerk yeah sure

  • Convect edge? I think you mean convex...

  • Very nice instruction! I only wish there was a close-up shot, showing just the scissor blade and the stone, so I could get a better look at how you are moving the stone along the blade.

I'm glad I found this video, it looks very useful.

  • Did antone notice that fatturdburger did give any options...just negative comments!!!

  • Seems to me you'd get a more durable edge by going back and forth lapping the back of the blades and stropping the bevels until the wire edge (burr) was gone. Less fracturing of the edge.

  • Smart to mention that about Hair shears. Too many sharpeners ruin them by not knowing that. However when it comes to closing the shears to cut off the burrs, Don't snap them. If those shears are out of line for whatever reason, usually from dropping, then your just gonna end up nicking them and or undoing some of the work you just did. Close them by applying pressure to the tips and slightly forcing them away from eachother till they are closed. Then open them while pushing them together.
