korfball is a cross between basket ball and netball so boys and girls can play on the same team. you cant move with the ball and you cant shoot if your defender has there arm up in front of you but they have to be quite close to you. a boy can only mark a boy and a girl can only mark a girl. Also you you have to stay in your half of the court but you swap after every 2 goals. There are 8 players on a team 4 girls 4 boys.

one half of your team is attacking, while the other half of your team his preventing the opposition to score. while you are defending you cannot score, I think, so if you want to score you'll have to wait until you swap

@MegiddoForce I can tell ya. The swapping goes very quik. You don't stand in the defending for 10 minutes or something. And this sport is very fatiguing. So you r really happy if the ball is out your half.

I know, I play korfball in a team. In the professional leagues here, teams swap in every 2 goals. In juniors, there is time swap

a male can only defend a male and a female can only defend a female. Men players are in general faster and can shoot further. Also the women have other techniques. (can't explain it well in english..)

If it so boring why have you come back for another look.... basketball is a great sport at college level, more so than the NBA at times. Just like basketball, Korfball has produced some great games and just like basketball can produce some pretty boring ones

Of course some people will always have a problem with the fact that in Korfball women are on the pitch rather on the sidelines waving pom poms and cheering

Yeah I know that it's not allowed, but I work for a sports channel on Belgian TV, and trust me, it doesn't seem like an important rule. Don't get me wrong, basketball is more fun to watch than korfball, I'll admit that. I just think it's wrong to say korfball is a gay version of basketball. Ever watched handball? You actually have to wrap your arms around your opponent to block him xp.

I'm from Holland and I play korfball as long as I can remember. It's a part of me. My P.E. teacher said korfball is a sport for stupid people. He said it wasn't really a smart sport. He's that one that is stupid! Even my friends say it's a gay or boring sport. But I don't care about that! I love it, and I know I'm not the only one!

Watch a Dutch vid, and think again... Seriously, when you see something like PKC-Fortuna, something from the Korfballeague... That's just different. It's got more speed, better players etc. Besides, this is <19, you can't expect people to be great yet.
