i got the same smoke tail and flasher lights, have the cops ever fucked with you about them?????? i also live in CA. my buddy had black covers over his brake light on his truck and he alway got messed with so he finaly took them off.
Nope no problems with the cops out here for my lights. As for your buddy, If he wants to still have smoked tails, I would just use VHT night shades to tint them. Just dont go overboard. Maybe 2 coats. I did that on my Tacoma and never had a problem either but you could tell it was darker than normal.
I actually sold it man. But I did leave it yellow! Lol i bought a 2004 Suzuki SV1000S. Got a few vids up of it on here.
