Let me first say that I loved Michael my entire ife. While he may have had a skin disease, clearly he CHOSE to change his nose and hair to the white standard of beauty. His father teased him for having a "wide" nose and he and many of his siblings underwent the SAME surgery. He clearly had a complex about his color hence his" adoption" of white children.

Yeah "IBeLuvin...", regarding Jermaine, there have been several articles in Bass Player magazine about singing lead & playing. Several bassists like Jack Bruce & Mark King have spoken about the difficulty of doing both simultaneously. Although there are many that do this well, Jermaine was a teenager when he was holdin' it down, something even PaulMcCartney & Sting cant claim. He was very underrated & at the time, he was the only R&B bassist that sang any lead vocals.

It's like you read my mind. I've been saying this for the longest time. Marlon barely had any solo verses, lines, or anything to sing in the early years. Listen to any live J5 preformance (particularly "I Want You Back") before 1972 (that's when Marlon's voice changed) and you can hear that he sounded similar to Michael. No he may not have been the best singer, but they shold have given him more of a chance. Imagine lil Marlon and Michael sharing verse, that would be tight!

That's a very good point. Playing bass (real well) and singing at the same time is probably one of the most difficult things to do, not to mention following the choreography. Jermaine had a great voice too. Just listen to "I'm So Happy" by the J5. He's really good, but doesn't get enough credit. I feel that all the brothers were overshadowed by Michael, particularly Randy. Randy was able to play the most instruments out of everyone, and he's a REALLY good singer IMO. His 1989 album, was fire!
