Pride was an outstanding show, the pride theme music always gave me chills and hyped me up to train to be a fighter. Most of Ufcs champions consisted of former pride fighters and pride champions such as vanderlei silva, rampage jackson, allistair overeem, mauricio shogun rua, too name a few. It was sad to see pride fold and get bought out by ufc, probably the owner just got tired of the stress of promotion and Dana WHite offered him money he couldn't refuse. anywayz pride lives on forever.

I agree and disagree, I think Silva has taken too much damage but losing to Rich Franklin isn't that bad, Franklin is tough... not to mention Wanderlei barely made weight. He had to drop 10 lbs. the day before. Sounds really impossible but I heard that's what happened, so he wasn't 100%. It's possible he'll get it back. He just needs 1 good victory and he'll regain his confidence.

mate when are you making this assumption? are you making it on his UFC fights or when he was back in pride. When he was in Pride that was when he was in his prime and peak form.. Now in UFC he is a lot older and battered also.. chuck is already done for now.. and jackson still might have some gas left in the tank but the next knockout he has will probably be his last and he won't get up from.

are you sure? even prowreslting is controlled by state athletic commisons....so why isnt legit competion wrestling? I just think a wrestling tournament is not as dangerous as an mma tournament thats why they can do it

Its definitely not. the NSAC only controls professional sports. Wrestling is an amateur sport.

Amateur wrestling is also a collegiate sport so I'm pretty sure the rules are controlled by the ncaa. But I'm no expert.

jack dmepsey weighed 190lb a cruiserweight by todays standards. he was the boxer who revolutionized boxing from a defensive art of hit and run to charge forward and break eye sockets.

it's funny, only you internet guys are so hateful. When I was in Rio for BJJ I chatted up martial arts with a lot of the guys there - Brazilians have a lot of respect for things like Aikido, TKD, they love boxing, etc.. The real fighters are respectful, only internet forum posters are hating

I didn't know that Chuck has such a strong punches. I mean if somebody told me, that Liddel is going to fight Overeem - I'd probably say, that Alistar is going to win no problem. Dear lord. Liddel sure can eat some punches no problem..

that's his problem tho. he's got almost no defense. he's good at avoiding takedowns, but when people swing punches at him they usually connect. especially as fighters evolve into better fighters... you gotta avoid punches, or at least block them.

LIddell is fukin shit and has crap punches. His technique is all wrong and he would get murdered by any half decent striker. If he fought Anderson Silva im quite sure that hed be leaving the octagon in a stretcher.

yeh i do watch a lot of boxing, what im tryin to say is that his pucnhes are all in correct and just wild swings. Hes beginning to get exposed now with his losses over jardine, jackson and evans. Hes just and overhyped fighter which would get killed my any boxer
