She was a successful artist in her own right long before meeting Lennon and without her we wouldn't have all the great solo Lennon music there is. They were a double act from the moment they met. McCartney turned into an egomaniac, Lennon couldn't do what he wanted in the confines of the Beatles and George had become a monster songwriter 'in his own write'. McCartney was forcing Lennon into recording some of his songs solo while George needed more space as a songwriter himself. There wasn't enough room to fit the genius of John and George around Paul's ego anymore. A shame, but not Yoko's fault.
