  • I find that a light weight cotton works well. The fabric has to be light weight enough so that the knots are not bulky but thick enough to conceal. Cotton is not slippery which makes it easier to use and it is easy to wash. Silk is beautiful for a fancy gift as it drapes nicely but for a bento box I would use a fabric that is easier to wash.

  • @Furochic what do you find to be the best fabric to make furoshikis. I have a reversible one I made out of cotton for use as a backpack but it seems very heavy. I also have a traditional silk one to wrap a bento but silk is expensive to buy? Any suggsestions.
