ironic,,,,,after i tried so hard to understand the DLC XTR 08,,,,,,i giving up on those,,,,,,right now i already switch to the SLX 2010,,,,,,,,,,,its more friendly than XTR,,,,,,,,,,but i still tried to working on the XTR 2010 series,,,,,,,,,,,,although between the 2008 and 2010 isnt much different,,,,,,,,,,,,sigghh,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
i already buy the 2008 XTR edition and after 1 year used the dual con. lever,,, i still dumbass with those thing,,,,,am i the dumbass or DLC itself are little hard to get used than rapid fire?,,,,,give me 1 or 2 words guys,,,,,i really lose my confidence right now,,,,,believe or not because that i almost not touch my mtb almost 3,5 month,,,,,hikz2,,,,,,
My 2006 cannondale F800 came with lx dual control. The shifting wasn't bad but I hate shimano hydraulic brakes. I changed them out for hayes brakes and sram x.0 rear derailleur and trigger shifters. Best choice I made. I can't comment on the newer style ones but I like the freedom of being able to have any brakes I want and not just shimano.
I had the Deore LX v-brake DCL... loved them. Now I've got the hydraulic LX DCL, loved them too.
It wasn't that hard to get used to them though, but, I think you have to think ahead in order to shift properly.

I got the XTR ones and they take a few rides to get used to, but once you're comfortable with them, trigger shifters seem unnessacery!

Still love thumb shifters. But you get used to these quickly.
Still dual shifters give more range of choice.
