Thanks for the information Deodan, could it be a mandolute (as described in enDOTwikipediaDOTorg), although this instrument has 6 double strings and in the wikipedia article it is said a mandolute has got 10 (5 double strings actually)
It has been extracted from what's supposed to be an instructional DVD, so for obvious reasons rhythms get simplified I guess. For the very same reason, when you are learning a new language, English e.g., you start by learning "My name is X", which is not a difficult sentence.
PS: maybe you're ugliest than that man who is a good teacher I think, and fyi beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
hezz09, obviously you're not arabic, or else you would know that this beat is not even close to being arabic. I am from Lebanon, and i know that what they played is not even close to arabic. My 4 year old sister could have known that.
Didn't the Arabs own Spain for a few centuries before the xians kicked them out?
The Turks pWNed everyone in the neighborhood - outside of the Greeks - for centuries & there was always some sort of musical exchange between those in the Middle East (Levant) and Mediterranean, I believe the theory involves Gypsies and migration.
"Kalamatiano" is a Greek rhythm but 3+2+2 has many variants worldwide.
All dumbek players know this 7 beat rhythm. With slightly different accents its called dwar hindi. Seems like most of the posters, excluding SonicBlunt, don't play a dumbek.
are you retarded, that would be a darbuka, and its middle eastern, another words arab drum, where did greek come from. and that guitar tune is also arabic. Spanish doesnt get mixed with darbuka
well actually on that what the guys is drumming on is a darbukah...kalamatiano is a greek folk dance and greek culture is almost the same as the middle eastern...the greek word for darbukah is touberleki....and why not? two cultures mixed in one? i think its fantastic..
hello my friend I am a profesor of darbouka then I give you the note of your cheek on the darbouka 4/10 he is necessary continuous for arrives at the tichnic news of tur
