the "studio" cut is okay, but almost 3 hours long with deadly slow pacing. does anyone thing that Singer's version is going to have faster pacing or more action? Why would the studio cut it?

Well the upcoming Blu Ray collection with all 5 Superman films will have the Return to Krypton sequence as an extra. No word whether the scene of young Clark finding the ship will be included but regardless I plan on doing my own cut of SR when the Superman Collection arrives.

Singer tried, rightfully or wrongfully & time has decided it, that he tried to recapture some of the magic of the original films. Nobody does it these days, it's all about reboots and box office. But somewhere sometime hopefully in the future, recognition will come for the idea, the manifestation that Superman was once again on the big screen and that many people went to & got to see a film with heart and thought behind it. Thank you Bryan Singer for what you tried. I see what you aimed for...

Singer can't direct real emotions on a movie... He always tends to make it campy or fake looking, and this was a major flaw in SR. The lack of real emotion by the cast it just all seemed really forced, and there was zero chemistry with anyone in the movie. Singer is great at making a movie look nice but he just doesn't have the ability to give it any depth. SR sucked IMO, and it was all Singermans fault.

I would pay too see a special edition I love Superman but I have to admit the movie itself lacked superman scenes had too many Lois Lane scenes and her kid which was a bit boring, Superman we understand is in love with her, but he was a bit creepily obsessed looking through to check lois out, what was he hoping her with her rabbit lol

It's a shame, but their aren't enough fans of this movie for WB to release a Director's cut. It's a shame, for it was such a great film despite it's flaws. I like the old 40's-50's feel of the film and I am such fan of the cast and Director respectfully.

*sigh* if only everyone were a bit kinder to eachother. This isn't how we should act towards one & other. If this guy (not sure of his name) and other people want a "Fan Cut" then let them petition it. I personally don't want a fan cut. The Krypton sequence would be better used in the sequel (if any) with more action and a different villian (they should still have Luthor as secondary). The scenes with Ben would off-set the film. The Cut that we all got IS the Bryan Singer Cut... "for a reason".

warner bros has already announced that they wont be doing another superman movie until the pending rights lawsuit with the original creators families is setteled and that trial is scheduled for 2012.

Although I would really like to watch one day SR the Krypton sequence I don't think that it will be a possibility for at least a couple of decades. Those scenes weren't just cut from the final movie but were never shot in the contrary SII director's cut was made by the first directors shots that were replaced by the second . Now what it should be done is a new collectors edition with the deleted scenes in the movie and the deleted scenes that were not in the 06 dvd release

Not true, he did shoot the scene, it cost the studio 10 million dollars to shoot, so there had to have been something to view from it, especially since the trailers featured clips from it.

I wouldn't mind seeing an extended cut. I actually thought SR was ok. Hell I would loved to have seen where Brian Singer would have taken it had there been a sequel.

I compare it to what he did with X-men.

I actually didn't like the first X-men film, but I loved the 2nd one. I was hoping he'd pull that with Superman.

Your money is not going into the reediting and marketing of this film so don't act like you are being obligated or put out. Batman & Robin was hilarious. Singerman Returns didn't have a laugh in it. I hate unfunny bad movies. This movie was an epic failure. Totally miscast. There is more action in any given episode of Smallville. Brandon Routh's career has been invisible ever since for a reason. He was crap.

i'd rather see a new Superman movie with more action and a new villain that Superman can actually throw a punch at for a change (coughDarkseidcough). this "Bryan Singer Cut" may be an attempt to gauge the public's interest in the character so they can decide whether or not to do another one. Maybe if SR didn't rely so heavily on the first two Superman movies (heck, SR is nearly a beat-for-beat rehashing of the first Superman movie) and moved the story forward, it would have been better received.
