"it goes on an infinite loop of trying to KO poor little Zuey with a Super Effective move that only damages Zubat emotionally as he is now Ganondorf fighting Sonic The Hedgehog who is wearing a Bunny Hood and has both Shadow and a slowdown clock in his favor"
Same thing happened to me when I put a level 5 bulbasaur vs giovanni's level 54 nidoking in pokemon yellow. For some reason, Nidoking kept spamming growl, and I used a PoisonPowder/SolarBeam combo and knocked it out. Then I did the same exact thing to Nidoqueen. It was weird
I always remembered ole draggy Hyper-beaming my ass out the front door. I cant remember how I could beat him so easily. I think I had a level 65+Charizard using mega kick alot.
Anyway, that sucks about the whole "nerds wanting revenge" thing. Sometimes you gotta put people back into reality.
Given that red and blue are so old and the first in the series you've got to cut the bad AI some slack. Using any move type that was "super effective" was good for most situations.
@ zack114211: Yes, there was secondary type in first generation, though you may be thinking of the Special stat split by mistake. If you don't believe me, catch a Zubat in Red, Blue, or Yellow and take a look at its type- you'll see Poison AND flying. However, there IS a bug in 1st gen games that sometimes make it calculate type-effectiveness without including one of a Pokemon's secondary types (such as grass attacks on Tentecruel), but it will always calculate X4 weakness or X0.25 resistance.
@MrL4mppu Close. With 1 you get your cock sucked once an hour. With 2, twice an hour. 3, three times an hour. To quote the video, THAT'S ONE FOR EVERY DRAGONITE!
omg i was fighting gary's venosaur and beat it with a lvl 3 oddish....moron kept using fucking poison powder because of the grass type.....i thought it only happened to me yay im not alone.btw thanks for the explanation =-)
@ChronoDarknessLord Last time I checked.... I could check again! If that's what you want! And besides, I didn't remember that Oddish was part poison. Sorry, I forgot. You look at a green plant that erica uses for Giga Drain- A "Grass" type move in a grass type gym. And you think it's Grass... You ever look at Whishcash and Say "Oh that's part Ground" Or flygon and say "That looks like a Ground Type!" Or maybe Empoleon - A Fucking Penguin! And say "That's part STEEL" Do you play Pokemon? Moron.
As far as I can tell this is 100% true. I used to be able to take a level 10 bulbasaur into the 8th gym in Yellow version and defeat Giovanni's Nidoqueen and Nidoking with it. It baffled me, but this helps explain it.
In case you were wondering, this happened because the first gen AI always used a super-effective attack if it had one, regardless of whether it did damage or not. Zubat is Poison type, Agility is Psychic type, thus the Agility spam.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. The other half is fighting against a really crappy AI.
@uberpwnage13 May I quote this at the top of the description as a TL;DR answer? Because this is perfect and you've said it a hell of a lot better than I ever could.
@weather12guy Honestly, it's not. A lot of people now have left their own comments saying how it's happened to them as well with various opponents, not only Dragonite. Uberpwnage13's comment sums it up perfectly, the first games just have very shoddy AI. I'm sorry because I have no way to effectively prove this to you, but really, you're just not hitting a point where it would repeat.
@Pojechany1994 It's not a cheat. Toxic kills anything within 8 turns unless poison is healed. Man people are stupid. And I'm not saying that because you didn't know toxic, its the way you presented yourself.
@floooooooooooooooood Nope, you could probably (don't quote me on this) instantly go from level 2 to 100 if you had the means to a ludicrously high enough amount of EXP to sap in Gen 1.
@SuperTails92 need to rephrase, I don't mean the ability to level up multiple times I mean the way multiple level ups are displayed. I thought it said congrats you got to level 3, then well done level 4, 5, 6 all the way up to 14 instead of jjust saing you've reached level 14.
@floooooooooooooooood Oh no, that's what I meant. Sorry, I should've probably phrased that better myself... To clarify, no, if you get enough EXP to gain more than one level at once in Gen 1, you'll just automatically skip the levels in between, which isn't so great considering you miss any and all moves that are learned on any skipped levels. This is fixed by Gen 2 due to the addition of the EXP Bar, I'm guessing.
Er, sorry if I'm still confusing, I'm not that good at wording things...
In a 1v1 w/setup, Orange Barney still gets pounded, because Garchomp can set up and beef his defense stats... or just nail Dragonite with two quick hits for the KO.
@ThnksFrThMmrs1500 Not immune to a Pokemon with an attack stat so high, it was banned from competitive play for TWO GENERATIONS of games, even after Gen V hit it with the nerf bat. It's speed is nothing to scoff at as well... 1-2 hits with Dragon Claw, poor Dragonite.
Someone should do a video on Garchomp, because he's the true boss of Dragon-type non-legendary Pokemon. Heck, even some draconic Legendaries are beaten down by his attack stat.

Wow! This is just so awesome, words just can't describe it! I never knew about this error in the original three games' (four, if you want to count Yellow) programming. Next time I feel like popping in my Blue/Yellow, I'll be sure to use a few Pokèmon to exploit this. May be the first time I beat the G1 Elite Four... -_-; Sad, huh?
@CopyRezo36 I'm an idiot so you'll have to excuse me for not knowing what "OD of the OG" is, but I'm guessing it's Dragonite. So my response is yeah, while I didn't mean for it to be insulting when I first made this (because I honestly didn't expect it to get more than a couple hundred views), once I started getting death threats for it and it became the semi-consistent number one video when you Google Dragonite, I just couldn't change the title.
@SuperTails92 It's cool :) The video I am referencing is that "It's Dragonite, Bitch!' video that is very popular among Dragonite enthusiasts. (incidentally, many of the comments on your video also reference it.) "OD of the OG" stands for "Original Dragon of the Original Generation". Probably just to make it sound more gangster. lol
@CopyRezo36 Ah, I see. I was wondering where all these comments about cocksuckery and such were coming from. I guess I should probably get around to watching it to see what all of this is about, so thanks for pointing it out and such. :B
@wwrulk Well, by death threats I meant the usual ten year old YouTuber "I'LL RIP OFF YOUR HEAD AND SHIT DOWN YOUR THROAT IF I EVER SEE YOU ON THE STREET" type, so I don't know if that actually counts as serious or not. Still pretty hilarious to me regardless though.
This shit happened to me as well actually. against Blue's Tyranitar, who kept using earthquake against my charizard, not realizing it was a flying type.
...wow...the MOST FAKE VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN obviously its fake cause there is no border in the old games like that plus you cant change the border so this guy who made this video is not a very good editer...so in short...zubat...GET THAT SHIT OUTTA HERE
@TheArchangel268 Durrrr one of the first things I say in the info is that the reason the text border is different is because this is a hack of Red and the guy who hacked it changed various things, text border included.
I will say that I am somewhat surprised though that you're the very first person to my knowledge to ever point out the text border thing, I honestly was expecting everyone to point to that immediately when crying "fake". So uh, congrats, I guess.
"Because the AI in the generation one games had the same thought processing power as whoever decided to push Hornswaggle as the WWE's top face the past couple years" LMFAO
This makes so much sense now, dragonite would never attack my venusaur cause it was a poison type and i would do the same thing, toxic-stall it out XD
Description is fantastic, I learned things I didn't know prior to seeing it and this video, people will continue to spam you with troll comments and/or stupid comments from not reading it...
