He's pretty damn right actually, Zatoichi is like a Japanese, swordman Columbo. Funny thing is, Columbo is on the right side of the law, while Zatoichi is a Yakuza. But they both fight for justice.

One of my favourite zatoichi scenes! As I recall, just as this clip ends and as he walks to sit down, he shows his bare arse, pretending it is in error but in reality is intentionally mooning them. Such broad range in Zatoichi films of honour boldness, comedy, good acting, and so on etc etc. Very broad. (not this scene, but..)

You remember correctly, he sticks his semi-bare butt in the lady to the left's face as he prepares to sit down. It's hilarious. The only scene rivalling this for humor is the episode where he discreetly flips a booger into a guy's sake cup...who then proclaims "Hmmm tastes salty." hehehehe
