  • Wow, there were nice things in my youth.

  • This is a puzzle between prime numbers and multiples of 12. @Pladask got close. I'm sure this has been a joke between Henson and some ivy league mathematician for a while. I can only picture their evil laughter. And as stated three years ago, this is my ideal ring tone.

  • This beat was sick!!!!!

  • omg typ in many moons by janeel monae and this is the same melody i love both of them now

  • Maaan, they don't make cartoons like they used to. That's a pretty trippy way of learning numbers, truely awesome!

I'm guessing they have some special 'creative enhancements' to produce all that cracked-out madness. Probably stoned, likely ripped on acid as well.

  • tweeeeelllllllllllllvvveeee!!!!!!

  • mmmm- k aaaaaay ??????

  • we watched this in science today

    trippiest thing ever.

  • brings back memories!!!

  • Whoever made this and put all the numbers together was a genius! I catch myself singing this in the shower sometimes. I'm such a crackhead!

  • This would be banned today. These people were obviously counting the number of bong hits they took before making this cartoon.

  • for real!

  • tellibubby's love each other very much

  • Great fun video to watch, and great music too!

  • Wicked! I feel like dancing - and I never dance! The Beastie Boys must have been influenced by this!

  • I don't think 4 gets the credit he deserves

  • this used to make me laugh!

  • incredible. i just wish this was my ringtone.

  • Thanks for posting! I used to sing and dance along as well!

  • that wa sin family guy

  • I loved this cartoon. When I was little, i always thought that this pinball machine was actually real. I said when I get older, I'm going to buy me one.

  • it makes me wanna dance!!!! ...AND count!

  • I dreamed about this song as a kid and it never got out of my head. I swear that I feel like an innocent kid again which in this day in age we all need to feel.

  • Your absolutley right about that.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!! This was my FAVORITE sesame street song!!!!!!!

  • me too!!!!

  • SAME HERE!!! major kudos for uploading this and taking me back to my childhood!!

  • Where can I find a copy of the song?

  • I want to remix this song

  • 123456789101112

  • Cool

  • That's fucking groovy.

  • I love it! ...That is, even though I wasn't born until...the late 80's....EIGHT!!

  • hahah cool!

  • wow this is so 1980 i was about 5 and remember the hell out of this one . Its so 70`s and totally wouldnt fit the sesame street cirriculum today, but this was so kool .

  • Thank you so much!

  • omg as if! Me and my mate were always singing it at skool, i neva thought i would see it again! Cheers for posting it!

  • Oh yeah baby. Smooth . . .

  • pinball countdown and jazzy spies from THE STREET...it really doesn't get any better.

  • Yeah ... that works ... I worked this out:

    4 + 3 + 4 + 3 / 4 + 4 + 3 + 3 / 4 + 4 + 3 / 4 + 4 + 4 + 3 / 4 + 4 + 5 + 4

... which is more natural IMO.

  • 7/8, 7/8, 11/8, 3/8, 11/8, 12/8, 3/8, 11/8, 3/8 .... or something like that.

  • So bizarre is the random singing of the various numbers, at some points in rapid fire one after another, and in such odd vocal pitches and inflections! Groovy, cool and so creative.

  • I thought that as well. It really is an intriguing piece of music.

  • THIS is why I watched Sesame Street...I loved this bit !!

Thank you for posting it :)

    xxxx

  • I absolutely cannot believe that I got to watch that again. That was one of my favorite things to watch as a kid. I am so unbelivably happy right now. All of a sudden I'm 5 years old again. Thank you so much for posting that!

  • Your incredible. Thats exactly the age I was when I saw this and it was one the reasons why I watched sesame street. Used to watch the show on sunday before it got moved to saturday.

  • I think "Art Deco" should be added in the tags. What year was this series of animations released? Does anyone know what the deal was with the Art Deco revival of the 70s?

  • Maria was hot back in the day

  • That's one precision bit of machinary.

  • I love this animation and the funky music. Family Guy's spoof also rocked.

  • Beautiful.

  • This kills.

  • imagination gates

  • I have been getting this song in my head for about 10 years and having no idea what it was from. I found this and kind of remember it, but for some reason when I watched it as a kid I thought it was live-action, like I couldn't tell it was a cartoon or something.

  • i dont remember this as a kid (maybe i wasnt born) but anyway my brother showed me this and i was pissin myself! y r all the numbers shouted out randomly!? thatll really help u count! in school ull b goin 1,2,5,9,12,4... etc. lmfao.

    Tis greatness nonetheless!

  • They're shouted out randomly in this particular video because it's a compilation of eleven different animations used. Each one focused on a single number between 2 and 12.

  • blast from the past! 12 is great but 3 is the "majic number" (blind melon/schoolhouse rock)

  • 12!!!!

  • "this is the best, even tho it's the pointer sistas." you need to check that comment the pointer sisters were funky as hell. if you hate on everyone who was popular in the 80s you knock off tons of good music.

  • i remember everything now. i never forgot the song.

  • Whoever spliced this all together did a brilliant job. LOVE IT!

  • The steel drum solo at the 2:00 minute mark is pure sweetness.

  • yo yo yo, that was luv, pure luv... thanks for the post!!

  • i dont' know how many times i've sang this in my head over the past 15-20 years!

  • me too! this song got me interested in music. right on.

  • cool i didn t know the original version

  • OMG! I'm turning 30 in November and holey moley. This is awesome! My sister and I sing this too each other every year. Also Me Lost Me Cookie in the Disco.

  • it was nice to see all the different versions, but sorta annoying to have them spliced together in a crazy nonsense way.

  • did anyone notice when the statue of liberty passed the ball to the cannon, the cannon turns into a cock and balls and shoots into mt rushmore's mouth???

  • i love this one... this is the best, even tho it's the pointer sistas.

  • This was my favorite animation from sesame street. I also like the one of that blue (or black) dot that lives in a house. anyone know what i'm talking about?

  • oh yea i kno what ur talkin bout!!!

  • i havent seen that in years. I use to sing it when the teacher use to send me out in the hall for being bad and got half the school sining it.

  • Oh man, the nostalgia!

  • I remember this as if it were yesterday!!!! I am 31 years old

  • If anyone's interested, it was written by Walt Kraemer, who writes what he recollects of the experience at this website:

    http://helium3.blogdns.com/2003/09/10/a-letter-from-walt-kraemer#c001345

  • I got all excited about this link, but only until I found it was WAY BROKEN.

  • thanks for uploading it, good memories

  • This version sounds newer than the one I'm used to. (I was born in '84) but it's still amazzzing!

  • :D yessssssssss! <3

  • oh god, memories :)

  • Is that Wayne Shorter on the sax? Music by Weather Report?

  • Good God ain't it funky now?

I used to shake my butt to this when I was 5.

  • Ah yeah, the perfect combo of hot animation and amazing music.

  • one more for the music nerds. it is indeed the pointer sisters... btw/ look out for the larry levan

epic mix of "C Is For Cookie"... a total... erm, monster....

also of note: the pinball song is actually in the time signature of tweleve...

  • Loved it. It really took me back to a time of fun.

  • fyi the composer is Walt Kraemer (style could be easily mistaken for Herbie Hancock) and it is sung by none other than the Pointer Sisters. gotta give props where it's due. :)

hopefully eventually someone will upload a version for each featured number....the music is always a little different.

  • Pointer Sisters? I started thinking it was Gloria & Maria, lol.

    SO AWESOME!!

  • Brings back memories all right! Being a big pinball fan and everything. Anymore vintage SS vids?

  • Sesame Street > all. Especially when they air the full version of this animation.

    WOOT! 5/5

  • OMG, that brings back the memories.

  • Best sesame street animation ever

  • was sesame street trying to get children accustomed to the idea of being high??? seriously, if i was some little kid watching that i'd roll up a blunt of the sticky icky right then and there.

  • no day like today ;)

  • Truly awesome video. And I got to hear the steel drums! That was always my favorite music part in it.

  • this is so amazing i could cry.

  • Can I just make a request? Killer. OK, I would like it very much if someone out there can make two Sesame Street videos, one of the song "Wet Paint" and the other of the song "Danger's No Stranger." That would make me pleased, as well as lots of other people out there. Thank you very much in advance.

  • Thank goondess, somebody else remember those songs. None of my friends remember those songs and how awesome they were.
