But bands like these guys make a refreshing change to the generic grinding brutality. Don't get me wrong, I love the brutal shit like Dying Fetus, Behemoth, Aeon, etc... but I do like bands like these who stand out without being brutal

Comparing the 2, Battlelore is way better! i suggest you upload all Battlelores material onto your little pink ipod ,sit your punkass down and listen to them carefully. I really dont see why people think so highly of Nightwish, I know of much better bands in that genre such as Tristania,Theater of tragedy,Macbeth,Penumbra and so on...

Should qualify your statements with a rigid definition of what is 'better' music.

I'm an old Nightwish fan, and hold Battlelore in the same light (and even catagory) as Nightwish: symphonic fantasy/medaeval metal. Battlelore uses a little more heavy bass, while Nightwish utilizes thier vocalist's operetic quality more. Both, however, are beautifully powerful and stir vivid imagery.
