The lengths that these people go to, to make these films as authentic as they can be, is mind-blowing! Especially in this day and age where movies of that caliber are often 100% motion captured CGI.

It's a true testimony to the inspiring power of JRR Tolkien's work and Sir Peter Jackson's vision.

Mmmm... I was so disappointed when I saw The lord of the rings that it actually upset me, I know, no film follows the novel it's based on (time constrates and money, what have you), but for me I thought (and still do) that Mr Jackson lost it. Don't get me wrong, I think it was a cinematic marvel and the effects where stunning, but as a representation of Tolkiens wonderful story (the script/characters) I found it sadly wanting, I just cant watch it. I hope I don't feel the same about the Hobbit.

@natrelacoustix Possibly because the books were so massive its impossible to include everything into the film when you think about it the films are just a snippet of entertainment compared the size of the books, I still find the trilogy amazing though it smashes Harry potter and twilight out of the park
