The judges get a sheet with info on the contestants including the songs they have prepared. The contestants are asked to have more than one song in case the judges want to hear them sing something else. They have asked contestants before to sing another song. It is not all that unusual. It just happened to be blow away this time. And if Simon had heard about him, then more power to him that he asked him to sing the other song. Not exactly a fix.

I think, SIMON was aware the very first note that child had hit that this boy got a talent so, to spare him from not being noticed and by just spoiling the chance by singing a song not fitted to him, he stopped it as early as it was for him to choose the song he will feel comfortable singing and by that, boom! he nailed it! BRAVO... be thankful for the chance SIMON had given you. Though, should he finished the first song, he really have the skill.

Shaheen, previously had a part in a musical called 'Thriller' or something which toured around Europe. As he is so experienced in singing Michael Jackson songs it's obvious that the show new about it and set this up.
