Not at all. That's the sound of a perfectly tuned nitro engine. The engine was running at 200-225 degrees and had tons of smoke coming from the exhaust. When your around people that can't tune and don't know how to you get a skewed idea of a perfectly tuned nitro engine. I've been doing this for 20 years so I have a good idea of what to do. Got my first nitro at age 9........ :-)
