its scary jointly this woman husband just divorce and they have kids and he took all the money out the joint account and her paycheck goes into their joint account... he stole from his kids she cant pay bills or buy food I canr do it LOLi am laughing but it is scary
Such great advice!!!! I'm engaged and in need of becoming more responsible with my money. My weakness is spending big on expensive purses before the money comes in. But i'm trying to change that because it isn't a good habit to start a marriage with. Thanks again for the vid!!!!
I have worked in banking/credit unions for more than 20 years. It is so refreshing to see a dynamic duo that doesn't mind opening up and sharing this information. You have no idea how many young couples are not on one accord with the money. They come to us way to late. Planning and budgeting is everything. Stay out of debt and live freeee! -bam
Great advice! I never thought about using one income when thinking about a place to live. I'll def put that in to consideration when I think of moving from my apartment into a home.
Hi :) I just wanted to say that I really hope that the viewers, specially the younger ones, take note to this vid! Im 31 and I have ruined my credit and it has taken a toll on my quality of life. So, in honor of me and the millions of Americans who are "credit challenged", please make a vid about the importance of Credit (not saying Credit cards are bad...but how to be responsible with them)! Its so hard for me and I don't want the young Generation to suffer...Keep up the Great work!
In your opinion, should a couple living together split ALL of the bills or should one be responsible for bills ABC and the other be responsible for bills XYZ? Thanks in advance.
@Skye525 Yes we think that you should split everything that you both use together, but everybody does things different, we know people who one person pays the rent and car note and the other pays everything else, so its whatever works for you. Thanks for watching!
@ExcelAndBeExcellent, living in NYC can be a wonderful experience. A studio in the east village in Manhattan, can cost $1600-$2400. You might be able to find a better deal in one of the outer boroughs (Brooklyn, Queens,Bronx, Staten Island). Look on Craigs list. I am sure you will see many postings there. The rule of thumb in many rental buildings is your income should be 39x the monthly rent. For example rent is $1600/month income should be $62,400/yr or more. Good luck. I m sure you will enj
I love this video!!! My hubby and I just recently married and we are "learning" how to budget and put our income together, So this really helps...Thank Guys :)
I think these are great tips. I suggest any and everyone to read "The Richest Man in Babylon" by George Samuel Clason. Even if you look it up on Wikipedia they basically lay it out for you.
My husband and I have separate bank accounts and 1 joint account that we deposit money into to pay our shared bills. It doesn't work for everyone, but I can't imagine not having my own bank account. Great vid guys.
@CandidAnn We have our separate accounts too, just something that feels right and works for us. Thanks for the book suggestion and thanks for watching!
I'm the mother of two young adult children. I want to thank you for putting out good information. Also, having it come from their peers is sometimes better received than comimg from mom. Keep up the good work and congratulations on having wisdom. My daughter is pretty darn awesom but her brother and lots of their friends could benefit from your insight. Your relationship makes my heart happy. I'm gonna ship my daughter to the East Coast:) Marriage is losing popularity on the west coast.
@kreeativeme We appreciate you watching our videos, and sometimes its harder for us men to see things the right way, but he will soon, Thanks for watching and good luck to you and your family
dis was helpful and I like it. My husband and I are moving soon and I also told him we wanted to find sumthing we both can afford on our own and dats a good idea cuz u planning for just ncase. Great vid
Very Good video. Useful information. I almost felt like you guys were talking directly to me. LOL! I'm glad I kept my receipt I just spent $400 on some new heather Grey YSL shoes for my honeys 30th birthday next week. I think I might try to get a more reasonable gift due to I did cut into my bill money. I feel so guilty now. Keep doing yall thing.
@bellys124 LOL don't feel bad, if you feel that you can make to the next paycheck you should keep them but if it will put you into a bind then you should think about taking them back and putting some money up this time and from your next check to get them. Just our thought its totally up to you though. Thanks for watching!
Yal r so freakin cute!!! Luv both of ur channels ma! I like that ur husband takes the lead & u allow him to but at the same time, ur not a fall back kinda female. I can tell u guys r happy with a successful marriage. Im engaged and im like ur husband i write everything down that I spend & budget! Bills first & then SAVINGS... Then i play lol Congrats on u guys success =-) Much Luv
Great advice guys! This is so important because there are so many young people who have no idea how to budget. It took me until the age of 29 to learn that valuable lesson. lol!
@ExcelAndBeExcellent The cost of living here is high, usually they ask that you make 3X the cost of rent, it also depends on where in the city you want to live as well, try doing some research on it to get a better idea. Thanks for watching
I wanted to add also that couples should maintain a separate account that they put their money into each week. It is easier, for my husband and I, to have an account solely for bills because we do online banking which we keep separte from our other joint accounts. Also, have some form of excel or lists of your weekly/monthly bills to track spending so you know how much is needed and if your bills are fluctuating.
@TheNumber1student We have separate accounts as well, we mentioned that in the first video we did on money, we appreciate the tips. Thanks for watching!
Buying housing based on one persons income...WOW! This makes sooo much sense, and definately something I can see myself using in the future...excellent tip you all! :)
