The last time I saw this, I couldn't have been more than 6 years old. And it has been stuck in my head ever since (I'm almost 30 now). THIS is what the internet is for. Thanks for uploading.
Just got to thinking... since Lucas derived certain things in Star Wars from WWII (such as the dogfights over the death star), do you think interiors like the one in this film could have inspired the Millenium Falcon interior?
@kenmabie That are two different things: the cartton wheels are a fantastic element happening in a story that is supposed to take place in a historical setting. And this setting should be presented in a realistic way in order to create a realistic feeling in which the fantastic element has a srúrprising effect (contrast).
facepalm.jpg .... its a FANTASY SHOW THEY CAN DO WHAT EVER THEY WANT... also they DO use their larynx communicators... maybe if you stoped being a fact whore and actually watch the show you would see them repeatedly touch the adams apple region of thier throats... for fuck sake... fact whore assholes... hey dipshit why are you bitching about the nosie and not about thier 1980's hair cuts... if you gonna be a fact whore do it right
@kenmabie@kenmabie@kenmabie Why so aggressive? Have I offended you personally by posting that the B-17 scenario in this show isn´t presented totally realistic? If so, I´m sorry.
P.S.: It doesn´t made an good impression if every second word you use is a curse. This creates an inconvenient atmosphere. I curse myself way too often. In the past I thought the advice not to curse was made by squares for squares but in the meantime I´ve understood that it´s meaningful and I try to follow it.
@lettertee1 you are fucking retarded... yes americans flew at night... the d day and the 101st airborne made drops all DAY and NIGHT into france... how do i know this you ask? i have the honor of talking with a member of the 101st airborne while they were still alive... a Mr. Lou Collins (he was also interviewed by the history channel and the game "brothers in arms road to hill 30" is based off his story, i have the masters of his history channel interview which i am uploading soon)
Remember watching this when I was around 12. Just great. My favorite episode and what was the best about the series. I wish more episodes where like this. Everything else was/tended to be mediocre, but a few episodes stand out like this one. Just magical. Just maybe Steven can bring this back again and do it right this time. Here's to hoping as this has lots of potential.
This has to be one of Spielberg's greatest accomplishments in my book! Outstanding story!!! I will watch this many many more times I assure you. So inspiring! Thank you for this gem.
Hard to believe this show only lasted for 2 seasons. I never missed an episode when this was on. I was about 7 then. Luckily I managed to find the DVD rips on the internet. Im stoked to watch this again.
This is one of my favorite films! Can someone tell me where I can find the film-score? Or ... if anyone has it, can you please upload it to YouTube? I'd really appreciate it! I've been wanting to here it since I was a kid.
The best of a (lousy) series, by far, lots of good actors, and RUDY!! (you know, before he left the USAF, slept for 30 years, woke up, and went to ND!)
@cra0422 you are sooooo right, I realized that when I watched it after I posted, oh well Caset did a great job (and is seen a lot in TV shows like Law and order). and of course Sean is Sam ...
Same as me. I was like 5. I have been looking for this for 25 years!

Great series. Great episode. Too bad it wa a short lived effort. However like anything else which is great, it stands the test of time.

americans did not fly at night.
lettertee1 7 months ago
@lettertee1 yes they did after 4 dec 1944.

@lettertee1 The episode isn´t realistic, anyway: In reality the crews of B-17 bombers wore gloves and oxygen masks.
VitoPossilipo 4 months ago
@VitoPossilipo And B-17s had been so loud that aboard a normal conversation was impossible. The crew was dependant on their larynx communicators.

@VitoPossilipo yeah, im really pissed off i can hear what theyre saying.......................
longfootbuddy 4 months ago
@longfootbuddy The point is that it is unrealistic.
VitoPossilipo 4 months ago
@VitoPossilipo well this is amazing stories, not realistic simulations of world war 2
longfootbuddy 4 months ago
@longfootbuddy But I think, if a show claims to take place in a certain historical scenario, yonder should be presented realistically.
VitoPossilipo 4 months ago
@VitoPossilipo i think its better to hear what theyre saying, and see their faces, for entertainment sake
longfootbuddy 4 months ago
@VitoPossilipo yea forget the cartoon wheel ... lets be realistic about the audio ... you sir are an idiot

Easily the best episode of Amazing Stories over its 2-season run.
Symbolizes EXACTLY what Spielberg was trying to achieve when he created this series.
