I think this is one of the best movies of 2011 but this trailer does it a terrible disservice. That woman who sued for wrongful advertising has a case. It is not a film for the 'Fast and Furious' crowd but is shown as if it were.

you could put a blindfold on and time travel backwards to your grandmas drive in theater by way of this fucking awesome soundtrack. do your cinema homework kids or rub one out to something

If you liked the special effects in "Transformers", if you thought "Taxi Driver" was too slow paced, If you thought "Scarface" had a bad plot, and if someone had to explain "Inception" to you then this movie is not for you. If you have a single artistic bone in your body, relish 80's music, and appreciate direction and cinematography then you need to get to a theater as soon as possible...

I know I didn't cry but I felt the same feeling. I left the theater smiling and satisfied. It was so good! I loved the story and the main character. It felt so real, not like some of the movies today. Absolutely amazing film and I think I'm definitely going to watch it again. Its One of those films you do see or hear about often and here it is :)

Man, there's some Euro directors on a serious roll ..... they appear to think it is really a great idea to spend the time and effort to make sure you generate a fantastic soundtrack, and meld it to your movie really well. @mike92yeah YES It is in and the music makes the movie extraordinary (deluxe version - you'll know after watching) but its worth going to the cinema anyway. And surprise, trailer may give you wrong idea about the genre of the movie :)
I had the luck to see the film twice already (Cannes and Locarno) and it is a real masterpiece. Gosling is astonishing. Winding Refn a master. Unforgettable soundtrack. You can smell the history of cinema. You can feel both your fear and excitement. You'll be amazed.
Given the previous flicks I'd never bothered to see ("the Notebook" - as I am a straight male), surprised he's able to bring it here - it's hard to buy most younger male actors these days as anyone with gravitas but he's got it. CAA should be pimping him out to more action roles post-"Drive"
I know the name of the song is oh my love. But is there a version like this?! Without the vocals?
