@TheRogueMonk When you say most docks don't minimize correctly, are you saying you're looking for a dock that minimizes each window down to its own separate icon, instead of one icon for all windows of a particular app?
In that case, I do not currently know of any docks that do this...in that particular case, you'd just be better off with GNOME's default window switcher panel applet (or the KDE equivalent).
@WarriorIng64 it is os annoying everything goes to the windows bar .. iw ant them to go to rocketdock but rocket docs version only minimize to a very far out left that messes up your bar in the first place
@TheRogueMonk In that case, I don't know what else to say...you must be looking for some sort of dock configuration that is so peculiar that no one has done it before. All I can say is that maybe you need to write such a dock yourself, or find someone who can that you can describe your design ideas to. There are plenty of dock options for Linux, but I'm not sure about Windows.
@WarriorIng64 you know how iwndows minimizes tasks to its bar .. i wouldlike that for rocket dock or some dock but without putting it so far away from the bar.. rocket dock does putt the applications in teh bar but it puts it way too far from the bar on the left side .. it ruins the order of hte bar
Once you have installed the software via the ubuntu software center there are two versions inside applications - accessories - cairo no opengl and cairo opengl I find NO opengl is perfect and less laggy with less unnecicary effects.
i want a dock that can work just like windows bar where you can close and start applicatonis and minimize to the dock not just open
anyone know of one like tha_

@TheRogueMonk Maybe Docky or DockbarX? Or even AWN. I'm currently a Docky user myself, but I'm still exploring my options.

Starting with Cairo Dock v2, I must say: definitely Cairo Dock if your graphics card supports it.
