you aint got to remake the game if you wanna play it in hd. just use a ps2 emulator and make the resolution 1280 by 720 or 1920 by 1080. it'll look a lot better

Yeah, that´s right, it wouldn´t be that much necessary to remade it. But a remake wouldn´t change the story, the game would just become MORE REALISTIC (because of the graphics) and that´s the reason why i would prefer it :-)
So I wonder how many people will actually have Vitas to play it with. I'm sure the majority of the sales of this Final Fantasy X remake will be from PS3.

@AssasinAzam The team works on it at 100% since few weeks only, but they said we should have news quite quickly. In my opinion, the game will be release between september and december (at least in Japan).

Well FFX was the 1st Final Fantasy (and remains to this day the only FF game) that I actually loved. This was the game that got me to respect the RPG genre. I took a chance on it, 'cause I wanted a role playing game for my PS2 for diversity. One of the most rewarding gaming experiences ever. I never wanted the shit to end. I loved the music, the story, the sphere grid, Lulu, Auron, Kimarhi, Rikku, Yuna, Anima...I loved damned near everything about that game. For me this is a must have.
Guys stop saying its a remake because it's not, it's a remastered version... Two very different things! I am very excited for this! Can't wait to play ffx on the vita!
Final fantasy x was my little sister's and my life for around 10 years! (had trouble to finish it so we started over a few times) we started young and couldn't even English but the magic of the game came trough anyway! Thank u Square Enix for making this nostalgic and awesome feeling continue. A felling I can only share with my little sister <3

@ILuNaTiiCz It is a remaster, not a remake. I think that means they keep all the characters and audio as is, but alter the screen resolution and width to be compatible with the PS Vita and PS3. They may need to alter the battle system a bit for the PS Vita's interface as well.
What this all means to me is that I will be getting a PS Vita since it now has it's killer app (or will late 2012 or early 2013).
like i said and i am going to say it again i like all the final fantasy game that came out and yes ff7 made final fantasy thrive but ff 7 got a movie and side games i would like to see ff7 on ps3 someday but we compare ff7 to other final fantasy titles if you ask me IMO ff x HD remake made me happy because i love everything about it and it just my preferred final fantasy we all have one and we should not argue over which final fantasy is better because there all great.

how can everyone compare FFVII to FFX? they're in a different console generation! FFVII had to overcome lacking graphics, sound quality, and controlability (by comparison). And to convey a story with no voice acting or facial expressions is not such an easy thing to do successfully. I'd like to see what people would have to say if it was FFX that had come out in '97 instead :) but for their time they're both excellent games and both deserve a remake! i only wish it was squaresoft making them!

I prefer FFX because of its simplicity! I believe FFVII was lacking that, but nonetheless both games are great. But FFX had a higher chance of addiction since it has voice overs and better graphics, not to mention the storyline is just simply SIMPLER! Because in life simple is key!
Why's everyone fighting over which game's better? We're all entitled to our own opinions, and no game is actually superior to another. Can't people just be happy that a good game is getting a remake?
All bullshit aside, the greatest final fantasy game is the one you think it is. It's all based on personal opinion and preference. My favorite is ff9, yet my friends is ff7. Which one of us is wrong?? Neither one of us is wrong, people take to different things. I would like to say that I would rather them remake an old psx final fantasy, just for the childhood nostalgia I would get. :)

Idk why people bring down FF7, It had an AMAZING story. And it was one of the only final fantasies that has a more modern approach to it than all this futuristic magical crap. FF7 was THE darkest final fantasy in the series and i dare you prove me wrong. The characters were well thought out and has one of the most infamous Antagonists in gaming history Sephiroth. I love the story. But FFX still also draws me in these two Final fantasies are the best and both equal in my opinion.
I must be the only person on the planet who enjoyed final fantasy XIII. even though the gameplay was 'linear' as everyone says, it was still an awesome game and I cannot wait for XIII-2 in 7 days!!! :D
There is absolutely nothing wrong with FF13. It may be more linear than usual in a FF game, but when it comes to asking them what was wrong with it they just rage for all the wrong reasons. They just can't accept the fact Square changed the format of gameplay and these "players" cannot adapt and change.
Like any scientist would say, adapt and change is the way of living, staying still in one point just means you are dead because that is what dead people do.
i think final fantasy x will be a test for square to see if it sells well. if it does sell well then they will release final fantasy x-2 and xii in HD too :D
here is the thing about the FFX hd remake. I love FFX and it's story, but it doesn't mean that i dont love VII too. the only problem is that when making a hd remake, FFVII would take another 5 years or so to recreate the whole world and story for the PS3. FFX was already a PS2 game, which is closer to the PS3's graphical standard then FFVII. If they were to release a hd remake, it is bound to be for the better game graphically.
FF7 is an overrated piece of shit that has illogical plot holes, a hokey and outdated story, an incredibly broken and completely gayed up emo protagonist, and easily the most cliche and insulting to our intelligence morals in any Final Fantasy game.

The CG scenes were amazing even though it was on PS2 system...i mean it's not much diff from FFXIII CG on PS3...ofcourse gameplay graphics could do with some improvement and speed...can't wait:-)

@dragoonwarrior00 Do you remember Sephiroth summoning the meteor to "destroy the planet"? Also last boss fight of FFX was horrible, no comparison to Sephiroth's boss battle. Don't get me wrong, FFX is amazing game but it will always be runner-up to FF-VII. Although HD FFX is going to be awesome, I find no need for it because it had decent graphics already. FFVII is the who needs the upgrade being that you play characters who have blocks for hands, (good memories...)
@De12osa Also, Square Enix would make far more profit redoing FFVII, only reason they are doing FFX instead of VII is because it is "easier" for them to edit because they don't have to start from scratch graphic designing as if they redid FFVII they would have to redesign everything. P.S. Kingdom hearts chose to use Sephiroth as a secret boss, why not Sin? Because Sephiroth is more bad ass, and a better boss fight then Sin, or jecht.

Story: Whilst both had amazing stories VII gave you far more in-depth of the plot, main character, and the characters around you, aswell as their pasts.

Graphics: Naturally X will have the superior graphics as it was released in 2002 when graphics overall were better. Now imagine how VII would look like today, or even in 2002.
Battle system: X probably does it edge it here in my opinion but you'll have many disagreeing that materia and VII's ATB in general was better and more reminiscent.
I'm in no way a "VII obsessor", I can just appreciate how great the game is. Even by today's standards.

I think X and VII are both amazing games, have to say, if I could have only played one it would have to be X though.

But in the days of PS2, when I was a kid and through to a teenager, I didn't really think about this stuff, of the 3 FF's I love (7, 8 and 10 - i've only played 12 and 13 in addition to that) those 3 were all played when I was a kid. And how I responded to games then was far different, today games don't grip me as much as they did, an age thing, probably. What I mean is, whatever you rate them, as long as they mean something to you, what else matters?

Final fantasy x was my little sister's and my life for around 10 years! (had trouble to finish it so we started over a few times) we started young and couldn't even English but the magic of the game came trough anyway! Thank u Square Enix for making this nostalgic and awesome feeling continue. A felling I can only share with my little sister <3

@ILuNaTiiCz It is a remaster, not a remake. I think that means they keep all the characters and audio as is, but alter the screen resolution and width to be compatible with the PS Vita and PS3. They may need to alter the battle system a bit for the PS Vita's interface as well.
What this all means to me is that I will be getting a PS Vita since it now has it's killer app (or will late 2012 or early 2013).

how can everyone compare FFVII to FFX? they're in a different console generation! FFVII had to overcome lacking graphics, sound quality, and controlability (by comparison). And to convey a story with no voice acting or facial expressions is not such an easy thing to do successfully. I'd like to see what people would have to say if it was FFX that had come out in '97 instead :) but for their time they're both excellent games and both deserve a remake! i only wish it was squaresoft making them!

Idk why people bring down FF7, It had an AMAZING story. And it was one of the only final fantasies that has a more modern approach to it than all this futuristic magical crap. FF7 was THE darkest final fantasy in the series and i dare you prove me wrong. The characters were well thought out and has one of the most infamous Antagonists in gaming history Sephiroth. I love the story. But FFX still also draws me in these two Final fantasies are the best and both equal in my opinion.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with FF13. It may be more linear than usual in a FF game, but when it comes to asking them what was wrong with it they just rage for all the wrong reasons. They just can't accept the fact Square changed the format of gameplay and these "players" cannot adapt and change.

here is the thing about the FFX hd remake. I love FFX and it's story, but it doesn't mean that i dont love VII too. the only problem is that when making a hd remake, FFVII would take another 5 years or so to recreate the whole world and story for the PS3. FFX was already a PS2 game, which is closer to the PS3's graphical standard then FFVII. If they were to release a hd remake, it is bound to be for the better game graphically.

cool - I'll get it since I've never beat the whole game....now that I think about it, I wonder why I never finished it. I love Final Fantasy and X was a good game - probably some other big game came out around that time.Either way I can't wait - I tried playing it again on PS2 but I dunno why the graphics haven't aged that well......HD makes everything cooler. Don't get me wrong, FFX is amazing game but it will always be runner-up to FF-VII. Although HD FFX is going to be awesome, I find no need for it because it had decent graphics already. FFVII is the who needs the upgrade being that you play characters who have blocks for hands, (good memories...)

@De12osa Also, Square Enix would make far more profit redoing FFVII, only reason they are doing FFX instead of VII is because it is "easier" for them to edit because they don't have to start from scratch graphic designing as if they redid FFVII they would have to redesign everything. P.S. Kingdom hearts chose to use Sephiroth as a secret boss, why not Sin? Because Sephiroth is more bad ass, and a better boss fight then Sin, or jecht.

@De12osa Dont get me wrong, I love FF series and I believe that FF 7 is a great game but in my opinion sin did more damage, meteor do not made a major impact in the planet like sin, Meteor only destroyed Midgar, sin destroy all spira more than once for a 1000 years, and yes the last fight with sin was easy but also killing sephiroth with one omnislah at the before he had the chance to made his move.

Hardly. Final Fantasy X is my favourite and even I can admit that VII is the better game.
Story: Whilst both had amazing stories VII gave you far more in-depth of the plot, main character, and the characters around you, aswell as their pasts.
Villian: No contest. If you think Seymour Guado, Sin, Jecht or Yu Yevon put together is a greater villian than Sephiroth then your in wonderland.

Graphics: Naturally X will have the superior graphics as it was released in 2002 when graphics overall were better. Now imagine how VII would look like today, or even in 2002.
Battle system: X probably does it edge it here in my opinion but you'll have many disagreeing that materia and VII's ATB in general was better and more reminiscent.
I'm in no way a "VII obsessor", I can just appreciate how great the game is. Even by today's standards.

then tactics then 8(abhorred) then ten(horrid voice acting, (except for auron) Then i played 4 and 6. following 9 and eventually 12. and i can say FF6 blew FF10 out of the water. 12 is breathtaking. 9 was very memorable. 8 was a disaster. then ten, very mixed emotions and pales in comparison, if you could compare such games.

But in the days of PS2, when I was a kid and through to a teenager, I didn't really think about this stuff, of the 3 FF's I love (7, 8 and 10 - i've only played 12 and 13 in addition to that) those 3 were all played when I was a kid. And how I responded to games then was far different, today games don't grip me as much as they did, an age thing, probably. What I mean is, whatever you rate them, as long as they mean something to you, what else matters?
