I have no idea if your drum work is good or not, I'm not an expert. :-)) But my favorite version of Where the streets have no name is from Slane Castle. Somehow it sounds sharper and more alive. In Mexico City I still can't get rid of an impression that U2 were very, VERY tired, a bit half-hearted performance.
I can see where your coming from so I agree to a certain point. But, I kind of liked most of what they did in Mexico City. I will definitely agree with your statement on Slane Castle. I LOVE that version and that whole concert actually!
just watched about 5 others and had to come back again to say i thought u were streets (sorry bout joke) ahead of the others i have just watched........keep at it and i'll keep watching......well done again!
I think Larry uses 2 types of snare in this song. I like 'One', the version with Mary J. It's got the '1-2' on the bass drum and the floor tom on the off beat. There's a nice pattern with the snare /floor tom at the end of the song. I need another kit. Played it on a mate's kit. It's great. Awesome playing! Really tight. Flows really well.
Why thank you!! Yes, Larry uses a piccolo snare mounted by his tom. I LOVE that version of "One". I've wanted to make a video for that one but kind of forgot. So thanks for reminding me!! :)
Haha, thanks! I'm jealous if you were at that concert:( I've been playing the drum set a few years off and on. Maybe 4 years. I wish I had more time to improve. I definitely lack technique!! Thanks again!!
Just a small tip, practice letting your left hand taking the lead sometimes. I did on some songs and it really helped my timing. I also opened up some new dimensions to my playing as my left hand now leads on the high hat and I am a right handed drummer.
As for the tip, I've seen drummers play like that. But, that's not my style, some prefer that. As for the timing issue, in the side bar I say why my timing is might be off.
You probably can't hear it in this video since I just use my laptop mic. I'm doing the accents in this song as they should be. Larry does accents going LR L RR. So if that's what your referring to then my left hand is just fine. If you not referring to that, then I understand and thank you for your comment. ;)

This is by far the best sounding cover for the simple reason you are playing it right and with the snare off. Well done
