I just wanted to say that everything about this video had me smiling the entire time. Fantastic video! If I ever get to come to Japan, I'm definitely going to the meat man.
Lol, you look like a kid in a candy store with these XD Don't blame you, they look great and I can definitely appreciate the lack of this kind of food in Japan.
Country boy from Georgia here... Recently have been craving biscuits n gravy... Been to the meat guy... Then found your vid... Excellent stuff, guy. Where you at? I'm in shinjuku
You can also buy pies and whole chickens from FBC (Foreign Buyer's Club). You can also get some yummies from Oz (eg. Tim Tams). I used them when I lived in Japan. Ps. Where's the tomato sauce (on your pie) mate?
This video is fun and informative. Thanks to you and thanks to your friends as well for generously letting you film this and to put it online. A nice family there. That's the little girl who danced on another one of your videos - very cute! Thank you all.
Very cool. Here in America there's a company called Marie Callendar's that's famous for their pies. I go nuts over their turkey pot pies. Those are very similar to the pies you were eating, only much, much bigger. You have to eat them with a fork, as even if you're careful, the filling will run all over the place. Messy, but OH SO GOOD! :)
The pies look tasty! And yeah ... I know the feeling being abroad and craving for a certain thing ... there are some things you can not get. Or they got them, but only the cheap brands that ain't that nice. Im preparing a video on Asian producs that are sold in German supermarkets by the way ... just in case people from Asia are wondering what kind of home-products are sold in Europe as "true" Asian. (Sorry, couldn't make it just Japanese products, but should be fine ...) &THX4th@ (^_^)
That was a GREAT video. For me mainly because you had the very nice scene of the barbeque at your friends house. I've seen that you said he was your friend before, this confirms it. Keep them coming!
Dude, you're pretty much amazing in every way possible. I've heard that the big thing a lot of Americans miss is the wide variety of breakfast cereals that you can get in the States.
Tbqh, I don't think I've ever come across a more informed or knowledgeable foreigner living in Japan who talks ABOUT Japan on YT on a regular basis as Silly Old Dude. :)
How the hell did you set all this up?? o.o You've got TONS of English-friendly businesses listed for EVERY prefecture in Japan? How long did you work on it before showing it off in your first EFJ vid? ;)
must be a real relief to have access to this kinda food in japan.i never ate ostrich or crocodile because that's just not available in canada.but if it tastes like chicken then it must be good!
Hey, I just have to say that I enjoy your videos so much! Anytime I am having a bad day all I have to do is jump on youtube and watch a few of your new vids and I instantly feel better! Keep up the awesome videos!
i was reading that sheep and the young ie lambs are so rare in japan that some shady japanese fellow sold a lamb to a woman as a puppy and the poor women didnt even no it was a lamb till she took it to the vet...read that in the news felt bad for the lady but it was quite funny i guess
Never had any crocodile before, i know they eat alligator in some parts of the us though.
I have eaten Umu, and surprisingly it doesn't taste like a bird like you would expect, it tastes more like a very rich, and tougher beef. i liked it, although my parents never did so they never bought it again, i dont know where you can get it though since we got it from the farmer
@xxfloppypillowxx yeah but meat in japan cost a leg too. vegetable are very very cheap, but meat is so expensive people usualy only eat very little piece of it (like you see in the video).
Fantastic video. I am English living in America and oh how I miss my Dad's full English breakfast on a Sunday morning and my Mom's Yorkshire pudding with roast beef and roast potatoes. I can't call up and order those but what great memories.
The little girl is precious. I enjoyed all the love and fun with your taste of home.
The best way to cook sausages is to boil them for about 5 minutes first and then cook them on the grill top, it produces less fat and keeps the taste inside. You should try it :)
I didn't know Australians actually ate crocodile, ostrich and kangaroos...learn something new everyday..exciting! I wouldn't mind trying crocs...but ostrich and kangaroos are awfully cute...I'm american and can't eat deer or rabbit because it makes me feel sick..like guilty sick
Yeah, it's definitely the pastry. I had a homemade beef pie many moons ago made by a guy named Minto and it was awesome. The store bought stuff doesn't touch it.
not hard here to get some puff pastry they sell it already made and some gravy, beef and veggiies and make your own pie. tell you really enjoyed this one.
