  • Is it true that crocodile taste like chicken?

  • Man, I'm surprised you didn't short out your camera during the close-up shots of those pies!

  • I just wanted to say that everything about this video had me smiling the entire time. Fantastic video! If I ever get to come to Japan, I'm definitely going to the meat man.

  • @2:06 "Turkey (the bird, we don't have the rights to sell the country)"

I fell off my chair laughing.

  • The Meat Guy....simple, perfect and to the point! =3

  • 3:10 lol

  • Damn... Im in the UK and my mouth is watering!!!

  • Oh jess! I'm so happy reight now! Meaaaaaaaaaattttttt

  • Those little girls are so cute!!!!

  • Lol, you look like a kid in a candy store with these XD Don't blame you, they look great and I can definitely appreciate the lack of this kind of food in Japan.

  • Country boy from Georgia here... Recently have been craving biscuits n gravy... Been to the meat guy... Then found your vid... Excellent stuff, guy. Where you at? I'm in shinjuku

  • you can take the auzzie away from the pies, but you cant take the pies away from the auzzie!

  • wheres the tomato sauce

  • OMG, Im going to villi's cafe right now because of this video. Thank god its open 24 hours :D

  • After I watched this video, I bought that pie (beef & mushrooms) in Tokyo and you were right! I loved that pie rather than the ingredient.

  • You can also buy pies and whole chickens from FBC (Foreign Buyer's Club). You can also get some yummies from Oz (eg. Tim Tams). I used them when I lived in Japan. Ps. Where's the tomato sauce (on your pie) mate?

  • We love beer sausages in the States! As always, great video.

  • It's so lovely how you have friends over to share your native cuisine! It looks like so much fun :)

  • Never had Croc, but I got hooked on Gator down in New Orleans ... does it taste similar?

  • Very nice video :)

  • Wow, Australian food...I'm going to have to add those to the list. Great vid!

  • This video is fun and informative. Thanks to you and thanks to your friends as well for generously letting you film this and to put it online. A nice family there. That's the little girl who danced on another one of your videos - very cute! Thank you all.

  • Hey, if you don't know what it is by looking at it, how's a label going to help?

  • Very cool. Here in America there's a company called Marie Callendar's that's famous for their pies. I go nuts over their turkey pot pies. Those are very similar to the pies you were eating, only much, much bigger. You have to eat them with a fork, as even if you're careful, the filling will run all over the place. Messy, but OH SO GOOD! :)

  • Is English the second most spoken language in Japan then?

  • The pies look tasty! And yeah ... I know the feeling being abroad and craving for a certain thing ... there are some things you can not get. Or they got them, but only the cheap brands that ain't that nice. Im preparing a video on Asian producs that are sold in German supermarkets by the way ... just in case people from Asia are wondering what kind of home-products are sold in Europe as "true" Asian. (Sorry, couldn't make it just Japanese products, but should be fine ...) &THX4th@ (^_^)

  • needs some tomato sauce!

  • That was a GREAT video. For me mainly because you had the very nice scene of the barbeque at your friends house. I've seen that you said he was your friend before, this confirms it. Keep them coming!

  • Dude, you're pretty much amazing in every way possible. I've heard that the big thing a lot of Americans miss is the wide variety of breakfast cereals that you can get in the States.

  • Tbqh, I don't think I've ever come across a more informed or knowledgeable foreigner living in Japan who talks ABOUT Japan on YT on a regular basis as Silly Old Dude. :)

  • How the hell did you set all this up?? o.o You've got TONS of English-friendly businesses listed for EVERY prefecture in Japan? How long did you work on it before showing it off in your first EFJ vid? ;)

  • @whoo689

We have been working on it every day for 7 months.

But we still need LOTS more listings.. so please spread the word!

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom Wow! That sure takes dedication.

  • I've never ate ostrich or crocodile, so I'll eat chicken. It would be the same when everything still tastes like chicken.

  • I bet you must miss your Aussie meat pies & Vegemite on toast & you VB or Milo drink, huh?

  • "lets" order some pies! you make me really want to go to japan with all of you videos.

  • okay so when you get to 4:27 thats when i start to get hungry :( such a tease

  • You are Amazing!

Macking a video about food so damn entertaining =D

  • must be a real relief to have access to this kinda food in japan.i never ate ostrich or crocodile because that's just not available in canada.but if it tastes like chicken then it must be good!

  • Man you rock and this videos rocks as hell. Tasty, funny and enjoyable. I like your videos mate =). I want to meet you if i come to Japan T_T.

PS: the little girl on this video is absolutely cute. So kawaiiiiiiiiiii ^^.

    Thank you for report :)

  • what i like about this video you are having a good time with friend and family. more please

  • Hey, I just have to say that I enjoy your videos so much! Anytime I am having a bad day all I have to do is jump on youtube and watch a few of your new vids and I instantly feel better! Keep up the awesome videos!

  • Been in Aussie for six-months haven't heard of these.. XD

  • Thank you for the great food video.

  • I've never heard of meat pies. They look good.

  • Learn to make pastry from scratch :P

I did that, from a mate at the local bakery. That way I won't miss it much.

  • i got hungry :P

  • i was reading that sheep and the young ie lambs are so rare in japan that some shady japanese fellow sold a lamb to a woman as a puppy and the poor women didnt even no it was a lamb till she took it to the vet...read that in the news felt bad for the lady but it was quite funny i guess

  • @1ukjunglednbraver This would have a strange food-quality irony if it had occurred in China...

  • I know how it feels to be in country that's far from your home. If you don't mind me asking when was the last time you went to Aussie

  • hehe your face expression when you were opening the box, so cute! :D

  • jeez I just ate before having watched this, still made me hungry again

  • did you share the villis pies and if so what did the others think?

  • I'm gonna go have breakfast now as I got really hungry

  • It seemed really dark outside your door. Do you guys not have patio lights?

  • I loved that smile when you got the delivery package!

    Awesome!!

  • You sir have the BEST facial expressions! Truly a silly old guy

  • I'm vegetarian and that was good. Cheers, man

  • Your not going to need that Nirvanna book after you eat. The food from home is heaven enough.

  • Never had any crocodile before, i know they eat alligator in some parts of the us though.

I have eaten Umu, and surprisingly it doesn't taste like a bird like you would expect, it tastes more like a very rich, and tougher beef. i liked it, although my parents never did so they never bought it again, i dont know where you can get it though since we got it from the farmer

  • Your life is cool! :D

  • How about vegemite?

  • Yummy-Girl is so adorable! =D

  • LMFAO... most exciting unboxing since years

  • Any idea what all of this cost you? Seems like if it's rare then it'd cost you an arm and a leg.

  • @xxfloppypillowxx yeah but meat in japan cost a leg too. vegetable are very very cheap, but meat is so expensive people usualy only eat very little piece of it (like you see in the video).

  • This is the most important question ever asked by anyone in the north american continent. Is there bacon in japan?

  • @Eaglegirl12 Maybe EMT should send Muscles Glasses to Japan to find out?

  • Wow that looks really tasty! Never had crocodile before either.

  • ive wanted to try croc for sometime now, great vid

  • Fantastic video. I am English living in America and oh how I miss my Dad's full English breakfast on a Sunday morning and my Mom's Yorkshire pudding with roast beef and roast potatoes. I can't call up and order those but what great memories.

The little girl is precious. I enjoyed all the love and fun with your taste of home.

  • Who ate all the pies?

  • Now I need to move to Japan live there for a year and then order a bunch of stuff from the Meat Guy. ><

  • I wonder if it's really difficult for vegetarians ?! :D :D

  • This was a great video. So so cool

  • oh damn, i was already hungry when i started this vid *drools*

  • Vili's??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'd say throw a snag on the barbie, but you've already done that!

It all looked delicious, and now even I'm tempted to buy from the meat guy... and I live in Melbourne!!!!

  • you sure that wasn't your wife on the door?

  • what do you do when the vegemite and tim tams get low ;D

  • About how much was that meaty yummy feast?

  • The best way to cook sausages is to boil them for about 5 minutes first and then cook them on the grill top, it produces less fat and keeps the taste inside. You should try it :)

  • I don't see sauce on that pie!

  • Great job with this video, very interesting, informative, well-edited, and fun. Keep it up!

  • The meat guy loves you now..you made him a commercial!

  • What's the texture if the Croc?

    Is it gamey?

  • @Frank15982 it has alot of BITE lol

  • Is that your family? and how are they related to you.

  • I didn't know Australians actually ate crocodile, ostrich and kangaroos...learn something new everyday..exciting! I wouldn't mind trying crocs...but ostrich and kangaroos are awfully cute...I'm american and can't eat deer or rabbit because it makes me feel sick..like guilty sick

  • Try some dolphin next time. :D

  • @MegaDavetastic

Dolphins are eaten in a very very small area within there. So I assume people here don't.

  • @kokueki2011 okk but that doesnt mean he cant get some hell i wanna try some

  • the food is DEVINE

  • so how does a non-japanese go about starting a business in japan? like a food business, restaurants n such?

  • I checked, and they have real Canadian maple syrup!

  • Yeah, it's definitely the pastry. I had a homemade beef pie many moons ago made by a guy named Minto and it was awesome. The store bought stuff doesn't touch it.

  • not hard here to get some puff pastry they sell it already made and some gravy, beef and veggiies and make your own pie. tell you really enjoyed this one.

  • DROOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • was that your kid?

  • @maxauto44e he doesnt talk about himself on this channel (idont know if he does on his other one)

  • LOL! I can totally relate. I live in the SE of U.S. and can't get anything even approaching the Mexican style foods I am used to in New Mexico. *whine*

  • THAT IS CALLED COMFORT FOOD!

  • LOL PIES!

  • I'm gonna love the meat guy!

Thank you so much for sharing! *digs in the fridge for any type of meat*

  • Australian food scares me a little too..

  • "We sell the meat, oh yes we do, we love the meat, how 'bout you! We got everything meaty and beyond." :-)

  • I think I loved everything about this video.

  • I thought you hated unboxing videos? lol. Looks yummy though. :P

  • Out of the many ways to Nirvana... stuffing one's face with tasty pies isn't one of them. (Too bad).

  • Are those your kids?

  • bbl food, hehe

  • I love how this turned into a video about pies XD

  • Great vid dude! The little girl was adorable too.

  • Why don't you try some whale meat next time.

  • Damn, Now I'm hungry!

  • So, when can we order takeout from you..? ;)

  • @jurm666

What's wrong it? May be easier to get out in case of an earthquake.

  • @michaelXXLF More usable space too.

  • @LordBalto And the space behind the front door is very important in Japan, as we learned!

  • @michaelXXLF You mean the shoe thing?

  • @LordBalto I do mean the shoe thing.

  • Kangaroo is available in bigger chain supermarkets like Coles/Woolworths (it's yummy with sweet potato mash) and has been for a while. It's not massively popular, but maybe Aussies have to get used to eating our coat of arms!

  • btw...what is that table-top grill you guys were using? i'm curious coz i'd love to have one of those for cold winters and you can't go outside but would love to grill.

  • silly old dude! you look like a kid opening presents for christmas! =) i understand though, as an immigrant myself, i know how it is to miss stuff from home, especially the food =)

  • Great video! Everyone seems to have fun and enjoy the food and the company of others. More videos like this, please! :)

  • Thumbs up for MEAT!!!

  • At first I didn't want to finish this because I hadn't eaten yet... But it was worth it. I really liked the way you presented this and even showed others reaction to the food. High five! wait no... Thumbs up is the best I can do over the internet.

  • Wow that was super intense. I want to try all those meats.

  • One of your best videos so far, I would give you 2 thumbs up if I could.

  • Lol, I would make my own pies.

  • You made me hungry, Most exotic meat I ever ate was horse, which was pretty good actually.

I really like your videos, mate! This one even has the japanese tv show multicam! :O

  • Lol @ pie sound. As promised this video did make me hungry.

  • Love the last part of the video. Such a happy gathering and a very nice way to show us a piece of japanese life, even with the imported food!

  • there's not a warm-blooded animal alive that you can't chop to pieces and put on a grill.

  • @imtheonlysane1here Cold blooded too haha. Crocodile, gator, snake etc.

  • I didn't know that the austrian eat all sorts of meat... and do you guys really eat kangaroo meat?

  • Ive never missed any of that stuff lol

  • Very nice and different type of video here.

How much did all of that cost you? The grand total with the shipping charges and all.

  • So Did they like it?

I mean the western type of sausage?

I know they have horumon and stuff, but what about this kind of sausage?

  • is it me or does he look younger than before?

  • looks good

  • u realy looks like a kid in the chrismans openning the boxes lol

  • i'd move to japan just to order from the meat guy

  • It sure was fun hearing you get so excited over MEAT! I'm a fan as well. I hear more vegetarians lapse on pork products than on any other meat.

  • National Panasonic

  • you were right about not watching hungry :D

  • If I'm having Vegetarians and Vegans visiting, I'll offer them these >:D

  • PIES!!!! you make me feel very fortunate

that there is pie everywhere here O__O

  • i'm hungry

  • HAHAHA OMG! When you said you missed pies, it reminded me of an article extract for the trial HSC (yeah...you remember that? ;D) The writer also missed pies and also described how a pie store in the U.S "brought him back home". Anyhoo, kinda disappointed that not much place in Japan that sell 'real' pies :( im gonna feel homesick when i go there

  • i could have sworn the kangaroo was like a symbol of Austrailia like the bald eagle is for the US.

  • Love and joy, spreading across the world :D

  • Cool. Thanks for sharing, looks like you're having a great time!

  • you should do more videos like this with your friends and eating other countries foods

  • damn those sausages look good!

I reckon Kangeroo meat is gonna be the next big boom - what you you think?

  • your friends seem so nice! :D

  • Wow Croc meat... how does it taste?

  • 0:27 nice cut before "OH GOD GET IT AWAY FROM ME"

  • Best part of the video.... YUMMY!! :]

  • I'm hungry now!

Does English-Friendly Japan deliver to North America? :D

  • Is that you daughter at 5:00?

  • Cutting the sausages during cooking? Heresy! Juices are the best part.

  • You have aquired the japanese body language - do you know that? ^_^

  • Thanks for this video. Your videos are helping me prepare my move to Japan (for a while), thats if I am accepted for a teaching position there! Thanks! :D

  • more video with family eating lunch together :D

    like it :)

  • Making a food unboxing video is soooooo Japanese)))) Bon appetit!

  • I normally don't enjoy the English Friendly Japan videos as much as the other videos made by you on this channel, but I loved this one. Thanks again. (:

  • Lamb is available in stores in the US, but very few people eat it. Probably because its very expensive here. And guess what; the lamb that is sold here is from Australia! I am in Florida, and while I know that alligator tail is served in some restaurants, I dont actually know of any. Oh, and TokyoCooney did a video about whole chickens/turkeys a long time ago. They ARE available from very few places, but the prices were outrageous!

  • We sell meat...Hooray. Excelent =)

  • ^.^ you look like a little kid on christmas while unboxing the meats <3

ive never had a meat pie (might be b/c im in the usa though). they look good though!

  • I love the no-nonsense name...The Meat Guy. Genuis!

  • japan suck

  • was it expensive?
