  • great information thank you.

  • I started going natural in sep2009. Because of all the damage from perms and braids. Plus just the overall desire. This is my second time trying. But this time I'm not going back because of the damage. I'm seeing a dermatologist now to help stimulate me edges to grow thank god the damage did not pull my follicles out! So listen to what she says because I am a witness about that braid damage!

  • I'm 43 and decided to go natural. Because the females in my family after a certain age lose hair with relaxers.

  • OMG thanks for the tips now I feel like there is nothing I can do to stop the loss of hair or to regenerate it, i wear braids all the time, sleep on my back, wear goodie bands, take medication that makes my hair fall out, and now I stop perming it and went natural and my hair feels thinner than it did permed and i don't look good in a two strand twist. OMG I'm hopeless but thanks.

  • How do you go from perm hair to natural hair without having to cut your hair off?

  • excellent video, very informative...

  • thx 4 your tips...They help alot. I have alot of thinning and breakage around parts of my hair/dreads b/c I twist too much. What could I do to make my hair not look so rough?

Also, where are you from? You sound southern.

    Peace & Love.

  • wat is the best style for relax hair

  • Also here is other factors that could be going on in the body such as hormones, lack of nutrients, stress, and for some its a combination of all these as well as what is beng done to the hair such as heat damage, cutting off circulation to scalp.Your scalp needs to breathe and by massaging your scalp helps to circulate blood and helping to absorb nutrients.Nice video..Its alot to know/research when it comes to hair their are so many factors.Hair needs rest the stress from platts, etc.Hope it helps..

  • i have this spot in like the back of my head or the middle area. But it make sense now why that spot is thin from lying down. I lay down with the back of my head on the pillow. Its funny my very back of my hair near my neck is nice and curly then as soon as u move up a little to the middle of my head it starts to thin out alittle, I will definitely take ur advice and try not to sleep like that. Thank u so much I love ur vids

  • Your Welcome . im soo glad the vid helped in some way ,from stepf

  • i have the same problem with sleeping on my back...did changing ur sleep position help during the this time? i find myself constantly having to remind myself to turn away from the back sleeping position; it's hard! let me know what has worked for you. thanks :)

  • I know that when i used to wear the drawstring ponytails that really thinned my middle out and i think that because i would wear the ponytails a lot that it had a long term effect on the middle of my hair! now im natural but my middle is still the last thing to grow! i kno that after i would take my ponytail off my middle would be stupid soar and i cudnt touch my hair for a while! Umm also getting braids done too small n too tight can also thin ya hair out or just cause bald spots as well!

  • Pulling it back to tight into a band/scrunchie will cause your edges to break. My sating bonnet and head wraps always end up on the floor.

  • Combing too hard can take the hair out too. If your hair is snap, crackle and popping when its being combed that's the sound of hair breaking. All that breakage = thinner hair.

  • I have a silk/satin pillowcase and it makes me really hot and sweaty so I usually wake up and the pillow is on my husbands head or on the floor but I do have a satin bonnet I sleep in. Thanks for all the info

  • Fam! I love you....You're such a wealth of information for us natural sisters!!... You shared some very good advice...I just asked someone on utube where do i get the wide good bands....I guess no bands for me now!!...well i betta not say never..lol...Peace*

  • Thank you for this wonderful video. You really gave some great advice! I have thin hair compared to when I was little and I have also been using bornasiatic1's Natural Hair Growth Concoctions video to thicken and strengthen my hair and I think that it's really working! Ya'll might wanna check it out. Hugs!

  • Yeah I agree. What might help with the half wig is if you wear a wig cap. I got that from ateya. Look at her you tube videos and you will see how to do it. I also have nu grow and I must say my 2 yr old daughter hair is growing. She still have that band that babies get.

  • Have you ever tried Nu gro? If so what is your opinion on it?

  • I use Nu Gro Shampoo and Conditioner I love it and I think it has made my hair thicker I don't see alot of natural hair girl that use it but they should its sulfate free.

  • yes, that half wig piece will mess your hair up. it's cute at first; but then you start noticing the breakage right where the comb is going in. someone on yt said it won't happen when you keep your hair moisturized. don't know if its true, but i won't be trying that again.

  • WOW! I was thinning where you said your hair was thinning. I am using Castor oil now and it works!

  • Yea, I've used the castor oil twice and I'm liking it so far.

  • A healthy diet with a good amount of protein and water. Stimulating oils like Tea Tree ( if you can take the smell) and Peppermint are great.

  • shampoos that contain sulfates will thin your hair as well.

  • Great video!! OMG there are so many ways to make your hair thin so you have to be careful. My advice would be to switch your styles up and protect your hair! If you already have thin spots try using some rosemary and/or peppermint oil. Use those and massage them into the thin spots or all over. It'll promote hair growth! It works!!! I love it!!!

  • thank you so much for your help
