Great physics, nice RPG-ish feel, and excellent environments for free roaming, but I really don't like games where the character is massively overpowered. Air hijacking, the amount of health, physical proficiency, etc. If you're surrounded by armed enemies that would have killed you in nearly any other game, you can simply use the grappling hook and parachute to fly out of there safe. You don't really need strategy or skill in this game.

Yes, this is an old version. Probably beta. And this game does have a storyline, but it is also an open-world game, where you can go around and do whatever you want. you aren't required to follow the story.

I love this game! It just lacks three things to make it perfect:

1) Music. Needs music, especially when you're driving

2) Customization. I'd love to change Rico's outfit or make the cars look nicer.

3) Cutscenes. You know how when you do missions you're basically seeing the same thing (except for the agency?)

I don't know how "open" this game is, as I do not own it yet. But I think Rockstar Games and their Grand Theft Auto series of games are the only ones to "perfect" the vehicle-based sandbox-style gameplay. Mafia II tried, but didn't get very far. Mercs 2 was good, but there were some disappointments.
