The only problem is in the MacBook Pros is in its HDDs, keep out the memory if it is 4, 8 or 16 GB, or if it was i5/i7 2.2/2.4/2.5 GHz!! If you just order a standard MacBook Pro 15 or 17 with a SSD you'll see a huge and incomparable performance and boost....

If you don't like the silver bezel, cover it with window tint film. Looks cool, and its not a permanent mod. Just cover the actual screen first with heavy paper. Then trim the film (very carefully) to exactly the edges if the bezel. Lift out the paper...easy fix.

@themacbookone If you are on a strict budget, you wouldnt be using FCP, but since FCP dropped it's price with FCP X, i think u could afford it, only $299. err, get the 13-inch MBP with a 256 GB SSD or 128 GB SSD and a external Thunderbolt or Firewire 800 1 TB HDD. If you are on a tiny budget, the 13-inch Air with the 128 GB SSD wills suffice, it is better in CPU performance than the previous gen top-end 17-inch MacBook Pro (Arrandale Core i7)!

i got the 13 and contrary to what people think its actually very fast without being upgraded. It runs every program on the adobe master collection suite cs4 perfectly with the occasional spinning ball. but tho the screen is a little small its not bad

@ramizlovesgaga Well, those are 2 very different computers! It depends how often you want to carry around your laptop. For students I would easily say Macbook Air for its small size and light weight. If you however only carry it to one location, settle in and use it for many hours, then just get in your car and drive back home, then the 17 inch will not burden you as much carrying it around. It is also a lot more powerful, and costs more money. 17 inch also has lots more ports and battery life.

hey, ive never seen that laptop. i notice that the one you are reviewing has a aluminum outlining around the screen, the same as the body, but on the new macbook models, theres a black glass outlining. is it a country thing? like youre most likely in the uk because of the keyboard style but im not sure. can you clarify?

The glossy display is kind of 'shiny' and has a lot of reflections if you sit in the sun. The glossy also got more vibrant colors. With the matte display you want get the reflections (almost, maybe a little but not as bad. AT ALL) And you also get 'truer' colors then the glossy display.

So if you are editing photos(like i do), videos or graphic designing and true color is important go for the matte!
