You are a credit to Bexhill on Sea! And any crank that dares to criticise either the singing or the camera, should try to understand how much prep, planning & hardwork has gone into this little masterpiece. This in time will become a classic for Bexhill, I have no-doubt in that statement, but it will be aired long after I or any crank has long departed this planet!
I went to Bexhill in July 2010 as a leader on the STS language course. For most parts we had a wonderful stay in Bexhill, which must be the reason why I'm returning this summer. Unfortunately not all locals appreciated our visit. Kids were yelled at in a shoe store, a lady practically jumped on a girls feet, while we were waiting for the bus and I was attacked just because I was wearing my STS bag. Doesn't ruin the fact that I had a wonderful trip and am looking forward to going back though.
i love this song and the video, made me really smile....i am from bexhill on sea and walk along the front most nights (normally humming this song!)...i am very proud to live here, love the place for all its beautiful seafront, parks, quiet shops,The De La Warr and esp the people!.... well done lorraine, superb!
i was in Bexhill this summer, damn i miss Bexhill, because i was with STS (STUDENT TRAVEL SCHOOL) and i got a girlfriend from Sweden, she's hot. + i miss England
i live in bexhill this video does not explain enough about bexhill.
it is ok for the elder people but for us youths there is absolutely nothing. the de la war paviliion is just boring its got nothing to amuse as youths. and because we have nothing to do we often just hafto hang around in the streets which makes us looks like "pikeys" and this is what gives us youths our bad image, there is nothing to do. WERE BORED
The world is your oyster - get out and create something then that will amuse yourself and your friends - do something fabulous! Get Arts Council Funding and put it on in the De La Warr - they are always looking for local talent I'm sure!
and the thing is bexhill has not got the facilities for me and my friends to do something creative, and if bexhill has got some nice creative places to do something afterschool or during the weekends they dont publicise it well enough.
i do not with to argue with anyone but i want to get our point accross.
and i would stop moaning and do something if i knew there was something to do!
If you can give me a list of stuff to do in bexhill then i would be more than happy to try out some of these things. Until then us youths shall continue not to know there are all these activities for us to do and we shall continue to look like "pikeys" when we are not.
@spartucus123 youre not the only one living someplace where theres nothing to do.This scheme repeats miles and miles away from Bexhill ,in towns by the sea, wich its only attractive is the seaside( summertime obviously ) and in winter with wind and rain not even a dog is seen walking out.
Wonderful. Bexhill On Sea is one of my favorite places to visit when I am in England. Beautiful coastline, quirky independent shops, some good pubs and a real relaxing atmosphere - beautifully British and different from the insipid chain store nightmares that you come across.
A great and brilliantly written song which clearly has the old tongue very firmly in cheek as another posting states but Ms Bowen is clearly a fan of this place.
Born and bred in Bexhill; my family still live in the area but I left 20 years ago. It's a sad refection of the times that the town is going downhill very much like Hastings though I have good memories of the town.
Funny song and some clever video clips that give over the atmosphere of present-day Bexhill-on-Sea. However, past times in this town hold many difficult memories for some kids.
Brilliant - I grew up in Bexhill and love the place - you got 7 west parade in which was more like beruit in the mid 80ies for the famed arrogant seven bexhill firm
Great video. I think some people here are missing the point that this video is slightly tongue in cheek..! Bexhill is indeed quirky, peaceful and largely unique. I love it personally and travel many miles to go there specificially.
i love Bexhill!!, so much for us youth to do, the pavillion is great, i love the shows and Bexhill ice cream is the best in my opinion. The one club is far better than Eastbourne and Brighton. I feel priviledged to live here. Soo many hot girls ere too, even though their pensioners.
OMG !! why cant the council do something for us kids !! there is NOTHING for us to do !! only stuff for OLD people ..... and we got speeders and 55 sec and 1.12 !!
BEXHIL IS SHIT!!!!!!!!!! there nothing for us kids to do here. and go have a marvolous flapjack sum where else I LIVE HERE AND I DONT WANT TO !!!!!!!!!!!!! it full of old ppl
Well done in putting together an innovative and insightful video of my home town, Bexhill-on-Sea.
It's not the most interesting of places but what it does have is a timelessness and gentility that can be enjoyed by anyone who is looking to get away from the rat race.
If people don't like living here then they should move away. if they don't like visiting here: visit somewhere else. Try living in London; you'll soon want to come back to the coast! :)
Certain people these days are so shallow. If a place is boring, it's simply because you don't have the brain capacity to think of somthing to do. Ever tried taking up parkour or free running? Learn to flip off of walls and over railings... then tell me Bexhill is boring.
Check out the speeder at 55secs Bexhills very own Frieda Kneivel .
I agree Bexhill is crap and the buildings that have gone up at the end of Sackville Rd are nothing short of a f***ing disgrace, what a wasted opportunity the council had with all the investment coming to Bexhill wait and see the monstrosity that will go up on the green.
dear lorraine is there any chance that you and john shuttleworth could get together and do an album for charity? i don't know exactly which charity,as i haven't really thought it through properly, but you get the idea....etc...
