  • I am very disappointed to see this. I didn't know this. Such a shame for US who should lead democratic world instead. Come on America, wake up, what's happened to you!

  • @bgdguy, this was over two years ago, and the U.S. is now on the right side.

  • @SeanChapin1 Oh, thanks for your response. That's better :-)

  • And then after declaring that homosexuals can be harassed, imprisoned and even killed for their sexuality, those 57 nations went and asked the UN to suppress speech that would criticize their religion -- on the grounds of human rights, of course.

  • Interesting - when did fredom means different things to different people & equality become negotiable

  • the UN can suck my big greasy balls they are good for nothing not to mention they are lying through their teeth

  • Sometimes the TRUTH hurts. I do not think that simply being a citizen of the United States makes me ANY better than ANYONE else including those "Eastern, Russian and Chinese people." My comment WAS directed at GOVERNMENTAL policy (BTW - the US position on this issue HAS reversed its position on this particular policy. How about THE others you mention? If NOT - well, "that's incredibly offensive... and definitely not an "advancedand liberal" stand on our fellow world citizens.

  • why are they so against gays.but ok with men sodomising women?its sickening that in muslim countries ppl are killed for being gay,but men get away with raping thier wifes, and sometimes the women are put to death for being raped.cazy,crazy,crazy.obama is muslim.i think he wants to turn america the same way with sharia law.and america is already very homophobic.if sharia laws spread here i think all the logical ppl will kill themselves then they can all rot in sharia law together.

  • This is the same UN that says every human has a "right" to all the food, housing, and medical he needs, regardless of who has to pay for it. F*ck the UN, and you homosexuals are often dirty, nasty rights-violators yourselves.

  • @DominicMetal1979, it sounds like you hate gay people, is that true? Whether you do your not, what is your problem with gay people?

  • @SeanChapin1 I don't hate gay people, but to often it's about giving them "special" treatment rather than just equal treatment, and now in most white countries you don't even DARE to question or state that you believe homosexuality is wrong. Anytime there is that kind of atmosphere, I'm against it.

  • @DominicMetal1979, as an LGBT person, why would I want special treatment, when it's equality that I want? What is the special treatment that you're referring to? Secondly, I don't understand how homosexuality could ever be wrong; could you elaborate on that?

  • @DominicMetal1979 Is there anyone you DON'T hate?

  • @DominicMetal1979

I can't afford an estate tax if my partner dies. If he gets severely wounded I want to see him in the hospital (especially if it will be the last time I see him alive). I don't want to be discriminated against in housing, employment, adoption proceedings, or in the approximately 1,000 economic benefits conferred by federally recognized marriage.

To you and everyone who wants to perpetuate these bigoted injustices:

Fuck you, you piece of shit. Stop making my country worse.

  • Come on!!! This is completely right, the USA has to protect its White-Christian-Straight structure. Homosexuals are an abomination and anything that is not consistent with that structure is wrong.

  • If the Islamic countries equated it with pedophilia, why don't they legalize it? Muhammad had a 6 year old marry him and consumated the marriage when she was 9. That just sickens me.

As for the US voting agianst it, I'm not suprised, but I am sickened that my own country is that backwards.

  • Shows you how corrupted this country really is. Americas fallen far from the old apple tree

  • axs get a frickin life ya damn looser

  • LET FREEDOM RING!!! Doesn't America constantly brag that no country in the history of the world is freer than the great United States of America? Looks like they're wrong. Russia, China and the muslim countries. Wow, we are in great company. We should be SO fucking ashamed. We are hypocrites.

  • I didn't know that the UN took a such a stance on gay rights, very impressive. So Russia, China and US. The big three, Gods what an unfortunate coincidence. Hopefully Obama will do something about this.

  • @ginkiba3, as an FYI, it was reported on March 17, 2009 that "the Obama administration will endorse a U.N. declaration calling for the worldwide decriminalization of homosexuality that then-President George W. Bush had refused to sign." At this point, the United States has presumably found itself on the other side of the two groups in this video.

  • @SeanChapin1

That is vary good news. Thanks for the update.

  • President Obama already did. He quickly reversed Bush's stance and signed it on March 18 or 19, 2009.

  • Besides that fuck the U.N. The U.N wants global government and the USA should be a sovereign nation with it's own laws.

  • @Exoskitzo You act as if the United States Government were still a government of the people, for the people. It's not. It's a special-interest run figurehead. You're one ignorant son of a bitch. I bet you think the government never lies to you and that invisible sky wizards actually exist.

  • Gays deserve rights but I wouldn't want any gay person near my kids if I had any. Gays are the result of chemical alterations in their brains from their diets. Lot's of plastics leak feminem chemicals. I believe gays are the result of polluted food supply in the u.s.

  • @Exoskitzo You're an idiot. It's a natural genetic development. Get your head out of your ass and do some studying. Even if you were right, that wouldn't explain lesbians, now would it? Female to Male transexuals? Hmm?

  • what a joke

  • jcareusa, as an FYI, Obama has reversed the USA's stance on this issue since coming into office.

  • Rubbish! USUAL homosexual propaganda, which fails to identify pernicious consequences of homosexuality, especially when the state is involved in advancing 'rights' based on this destructive lifestyle and practice.

  • axs2, your comment appears to speak of hatred towards gay people. Do you hate gay people? Why would anyone want to hate others because of who they are?

  • @SeanChapin1 it is because of people like axs2 that gays have no rigths to speak of, i guess it is better to let love be left to government than the hearts of its own people i suppose. people who choose to rule over the natural state of homosexuality and refuse our rights to be legally married. But regardless of that fact i live with my boyfriend and love it like a hearat should love. cause we can love to. government just chooses to not let us make legally binding.

  • There are now 68 countries who signed this resolution (against 57), including some African and Asian countries (!). The resolution is not binding, though. However, its a very good start. If it would have been binding, more countries would have rejected it. Change comes slow, but hopefully steady.

  • Oh you had to highlight the United States of America in that video did'nt you?

  • Antimidate, the good news is that as "totalkikay" stated below, President Obama has signed onto this declaration, which is great progress.

  • score! recently, President Obama has signed onto this declaration. next, lets hope that our President urges other nations to do the same, yes!

  • its a sad day when a country who claims to be the land of the free, refuses to sign a document declaring rights of a group of people.

Tut tut, Thank god for the EU,

Shame though they fucked themselves up a bit bout lisbon

  • What happened in Lisbon??

  • the Lisbon treaty, but its fine now, it passed!

  • I am a proud lesbian today after seeing that you have posted this message. It is a gr8 message for all to know. The ignorance & hatred that we face on a daily basis. How sad that we were to be grouped with Russia & Japan, 2 countries known for their lack of civil liberties/rights. The USA denies us 1,200+ civil liberties that str8's take for granted.

They say if we can Marry, we will ruin the sanctity of it. With 70%+ str8 marriages ending in divorce... I think that they have already done that!

  • 66 countries reaffirmed principle of non-discrimination, requires that human rights apply equally to every human being regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. they are deeply concerned by violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms based on sexual orientation or gender identity, and said that violence, harassment, discrimination, exclusion, stigmatization and prejudice are directed against persons in all countries in the world because of sexual orientation or gender identity

  • WHY?

No matter your feelings on the matter, the US is grouped with RUSSIA, CHINA, and the MIDDLE EASTERN nations in their refusal to vote for this UNITED NATIONS non-binding resolution that TELLS the world that it is not OK to imprison, arrest, torture, and execute someone simply for their sexual orientation. I AM astounded that THIS is the WORD of MY COUNTRY

  • @RogerWV I think people from the US should stop pretending they are that much better than middle eastern, russian and chinese people. For one that's incredibly offensive, secondly you guys aren't nearly as advanced and liberal as you think you are.

  • And we would rather watch people get hanged? Is that the kind of America we are bringing up our children in? We might as well forget that lady liberty is blind and...lesbian.

  • Thanks for posting this. 5 stars !

    Steven

  • such a wickedly cool presentation of such relavent issues... thanks sean... & happy holidays sweetie!
