  • I love to go for a ride u-2 spy plane

  • Why the go around?

  • @OSCARA320 This show was mainly a static display show and the pilots like to announce there arrival with a flyby for the crowd or he was told by the tower to land from the other side so he can make his stop closer to the displays making it a shorter tow to the display area.

  • @ LOCKHEED2011 I know a dude who fixes them. (he's of course in the usaf) and there's buttons on that plane he can't tell his own mother about! Yeah they are very interesting. Craziness!

  • @JDvorak2009 they are very thin and the posts are flexible so it can give a little under the weight during taxi

  • @JDvorak2009 they have things under the wings at takeoff that fall off. you cant see them in this video. and on the landing they just lean over to the side and slide to a stop in a way

  • Do they still use these. are they operatioal ?????????????

  • Yes the USAF stil employes the U-2 around the globe. Its the best at what it does. NASA also uses couple.

  • yes i believe there are 50 or less still in use, they operate out of Beale AFB.

  • the wing spand is so big on those

  • i wonder why they didnt just put an undercarraige like the one on the f-104 or similar plane, where two wheels stick out of the fuselage, and one beneath the nose. too much instrumentation? maybe, but its just funny how a top secret, multi-million dollar airplane could be required to drag its wings on the ground. talk about american ingenuity...plus i bet nowadays, all that 1960's tech could fit into something the size of your typical p.c.

  • greaaaat video! :)

  • Punching Pogos sucks sometimes...

  • I was stationed in Adana, Turkey in 1956 assigned to JAMMAT TUSLOG when I witnessed the arrival of the U2 on flatbed train cars in wood crates and was assembled in the hanger and then flown by Capt.Powers.

  • That is one hell of a pilot, this plane is the hardest plane to operate.

  • there's a U-2 being towed out to runway at Palmdale Ca on Google Earth

  • that's crazy, lands with it's wings on the ground?

  • no..no..no, when it stops one wing hits the ground until the crew comes and inserts the pogos.

  • actually those outer wheels are called pogos, but close enough, sorry to correct you, its just, u-2s are rare and i know alot about them so i like being a know it all when people ask about them.

  • I've been corrected thank you. I didn't know what they were called but now i know.

  • @LOCKHEED2011 Hey buddy! I read your comment and I really have A LOT of questions about the plane, could you answer some of my questions?

  • awsome i live 15 miles from beale afb (home of the u-2 and rQ-4) so i see them pretty often.
