Nice sound and nice tune!! I guess this is "We could make such beautiful music together" by Billy Butterfield's orchestra with vocals by Pat Flaherty, from 1947?
I have a cheney talking machine 1916. was handed down from my grandmother to my mother then to me. I am tring to see how much its worth. cant find any info on the net. could give me any info on it. yours looks like mine
Thank you for this video. I have a Cheney in the attic which I purchased many years ago, in part because of its unusual aluminum (?) diaphragm and the fact it played vertical discs rather well.
What a amazing gold plated finish!!

A friend just gave me one of these - this exact model, with a small bag of extra needles. How often do the needles need to be changed?

I think the record being played is probably 20 years newer than the phono. It's a Capitol record, which was started in the early 40's.

Cheneys have some eccentric features but they're very well built. Lovely machine.

Nice machine! You should hear one of these play a vertical cut Pathe record (with the proper stylus and additional soundbox).
Does this one have a gutta percha diaphragm in the soundbox? ;D
