iis the plug wet after trying to start it? if so then its getting gas and Just needs a new spark plug. another thing to look at is make sure the fule bulb pump is not dry and cracked not letting the fule system prime. hope that helps

my neighbor gave me an old weedeater from 98 and it wont run. we replaced the fuel lines and theres no air leaks, cleaned the coil and it has good spark, and put fresh fuel in the tank. it wont even fire on spraying carb cleaner into the carb. the compression feels low for what it should be, even though it was only used for 1 year (2 seasons) and has sat for the rest of the time. any ideas?

@slowride55 IDK, personally there junk, they need lots of compression and the carbs like to clog up quickly. Try swapping another carb and taking out most of the exhaust internal stuff.

um i dont get why u diden't just throw out the screen the screen is to pervent sparkes frome flying out. But like thire isent a good chanes thoes sparkes are gona catch something on fire take of the screen and ull get a beter performence. Becouse ther will be en increace of air flow

Someone please help me, My weed eater quickly overheats...and it gets very HOT to the touch like the metal casing for the engine but even more the spark plug gets hot..the entire spark plug even the white part i cannot even hold it its so hot i have tried adding more and more oil to the gas mix because i could only think that the engine was no lubricated enough and was causing friction or something but it just gets hot so fast please help!

@Lukeschedel all engines that burn a fuel create heat u dont have an over heating issue unless it gets so hot that it wolnt even start but i highly dought that will happen

i just got this one from the pawn shop for 20 bucks i replaced the spark plug new airfilter and new fuel lines other ones were dry rotted and it runs great

Good job. You richen the high speed fuel slightly to keep it from bogging down. You don't lean it.

Thanks dude .... your tips fixed my Homelite weed wacker. The motor was making the same bogged down noise as in your video, and it was the same problem ... clogged exhaust filter. Works great now ... thought I had to throw this one out.

Ok I'm stupid but my weed eater will stay started for a few minutes and run fine. Then it accelerates to the point I have difficulty shutting it down. I have no freaking clue what the hell is going on with it. When it accelerates it sounds as though if I didn't get it shut down in time the son of a bitch would explode lol. Any help is sure appreciated.

dip the exhaust in gasoline for 3 or 4 days and it will clean all the crap in it and use a lil less oil cause thats whats plugging the exhaust

sounds like your fule line. if it almost starts the you are getting fire. try replacing the fule line

It could be some trash in your carb. First look and make sure that you don't have any cracks in your file lines. Put some new fule in it, and if that want help adjust your high or low ideal.

Forgot to do the low so that it will have a little bit of power to cut to weeds and brush with out boggin out or dying.
