I wasn't much of a "fan" of theirs, but I did have this album during my high school years (class of '88). Of all the songs, this one hit the right spot.
Stripped of all the effects, their acoustic sounded like good 60's folk music, kind of like the intro of Velvet Underground and Nico "Banana Peel" album. But that blaring feedback and electric brash is alchemy to the soul.
Their other song like this for me was titled "Hit."
Seems like a long time ago, but the music still works wonders.
@JerzuRF and that's your only memory, you piece of SH*T? I have daughters. I hope you have not spread your bent genetic strain across this globe. Oh, wait. How would you know? PFT!!!
nice clean production --they shud hav continued with the underground phil spector sound + sporadic screeching guitars ,but didnt...this is 1 of the best from their debut album
It's too cool To get something done Too many things move fast I can't quite get a grip at last And all the stars don't shine And all the stars don't shine And all the walls fall down And all the fish get drowned Here it comes Can't you hear the sound of it Just like a big brass drum And some cunts always scratching it Just like a voice is pain Just like the taste is pain I wish that I could fly You have to learn to fly She's singing to herself As shes singing in herself
And she walk right up to you As she walk all over you Don't turn off I don't expect, I just accept I'm happy in my box You got to see the box upstairs And the sun don't shine And all the stars don't shine And all the walls fall down And all the fish get drowned She's singing to herself As she's singing in herself And she walk right up to you As she walk all over you
Excellent GrungeRiver. :)

I love this band ... Their quite unusual, yet easily appealing sound can do wonders to you.
Thanks for uploading this :)

I understand that bands must evolve -- but I miss this uncompromising version of the Jesus and Mary Chain.
