@Rynkemon no it doesnt take skill but the idea behind a hwl or gm being good at pvp is the fact that if someone consistently plays a single char in pvp for 18-22 hours a day then they would know alot about their class and the classes they fight giving them alot more experience in playstyle and reaction time

Between rank 13 - 14 it took 3 weeks where i had to do like 650k honor every week. And if someone did more then me and i wasnt nr 1 on realm it would cost me another week of grinding.. But in the premade i ran we made rules and limits on how much honor ppl was allowed to do based on their current rank. a rank 9 didnt need as much as a rank 12.

But like 2 months ago i got my account and all my gear back. Alot of Irl friends started up again, and i decided to transfer my mage to their server istead of my rank 14 rogue. After 5 years as rogue its kinda nice to try out something else.. And my mage is totally up to date gear wise and pushing 5k dps.. While the rogue is stuck in naxx gear..

You had to get honor points each week, and more and more honor points the higher your rank was. If you didnt pvp 1 week your rank would drop again.. From rank 13 to 14 i had to be the person with the most honor points on the entire server (horde side) to get the rank 14 and access to the high warlord gear and weapons..

Ever think about playing Aion? They have the ranking system similar to wow. In aion you can become a raidboss for about half an hour once an hour I believe, the max rank is 18 and basically the same concept as wow (Better gear,weapons,etc.)

As to this i would say yes and no. The old pvp system was never about skill or even good at pvp it was just about the sheer amount of time that you could dedicate to being in bg`s of months straight. But yes the old system was a better system than what we have now.

After doing Bgs all day and night for many months you develop skills, i was rofl when "before the storm" patch hit the live servers and noobs with no clue about pvp was running around in rank14 gear, which they got for being afk for 5 days av. Thats what i am saying im not saying that all people that had or achieved rank 14 were all bad i was just saying it was more a reflection of time over skill and whether u could get 14 or 9 other good geard people to roll people in ab or wsg. I agree, being a good pvper in wow is all about knowing your foe and how to counter other classes powers. I have no clue how many bgs i done, i had a premade up running everyday with ppl who wanted to get high ranked. And i had about 80k lifetime kills when i hit rank 14, my reason for playing wow was to pvp and i wanted to optimize my pvp in every way i could. I ended at 100k+ kills before i stopped

Agree TBC was a joke.. I had done 90k kills when i got high warlord and access to the rank14 weapons and 13 armor. And suddenly u had nab who no clue how to pvp running around with the same gear, they got it in 1 week of bgs grinding, while i grinded 3-4months 500k honor a week.. And now Blizz does the same with all who progressed far in pve.. Fail!

the xp from pvp by itself topples AOC lol. I couldn't stand having to level up with boring pve and not being able to pvp in wow. There was a time though where you could turn in marks for xp which was cool. I leveled a shaman to 60 on that with a few instances here and there. Don't know why they ever took it out.
Clearly u didnt play pre tbc. Cuz if u did u would know that rank 13 armor and 14 weapons wasnt sold for honor points but for gold. And only characters who had rank13-14 had access to the vendor. In order to get rank 14 u had to be Nr 1 on realmlist (the one with the most honor that week) in the patch called "before the storm" just before tbc the r13-14 gear was now sold for honor and all the noobs started running around in it, with no skill at all..
Ipimess you did not play vanilla. You needed rank 1 every week it took about six months 35k hks hwl was rare and the shit

i remember from 1-3 u could get it in 1 week. then 3-5 in one week, the top rank i got was rank 7 i think (Blood Guard).

The server is totally legit. No insta 60 or bullshit like that. The aim is to make it just like Vanilla WoW.

lol that's like saying to a millionnare, why do you continue on with work when you have millions? It's hard to stop pvping back then when you have all the gear, all the top end enchants and so on. I mean you don't stop continuing on raid progression just because a singular person has the best of the best that current was in the game no?

People who say he crits low well back in those days *going way back* a average player would have 3k health and seeing he crits 1500 yeah? Thats like TBC him critting a 6k eviscerate on a 12k health target... so it isnt all that nooby

If anything blizz FUCKED UP! with BC cause Pre-BC was the best. my homie is tanking BT and he let me tank illidan one day and full raid buffs he has 22k hp! thats insane like WTF happened to killing dragons and shit like that thats the reason i got into wow.

i stopped play after BC pre BC was the shit and i hated having to grind after going to 60 and i finally had gotten my rank 14 gear a week before release

Agree TBC was a joke.. I had done 90k kills when i got high warlord and access to the rank14 weapons and 13 armor. And suddenly u had nab who no clue how to pvp running around with the same gear, they got it in 1 week of bgs grinding, while i grinded 3-4months 500k honor a week.. And now Blizz does the same with all who progressed far in pve.. Fail!

yah retarded that 5 teirs of gear become useless in less then a year. took my third pvp season in tbc to realize how stupid it was to waste my time on such a poorly designed game, GG KALGAN. Oh well warhammer will be coming out next month and will shit all up and down the side of wow.

the xp from pvp by itself topples AOC lol. I couldn't stand having to level up with boring pve and not being able to pvp in wow. There was a time though where you could turn in marks for xp which was cool. I leveled a shaman to 60 on that with a few instances here and there. Don't know why they ever took it out.

Clearly u didnt play pre tbc. Cuz if u did u would know that rank 13 armor and 14 weapons wasnt sold for honor points but for gold. And only characters who had rank13-14 had access to the vendor. In order to get rank 14 u had to be Nr 1 on realmlist (the one with the most honor that week) in the patch called "before the storm" just before tbc the r13-14 gear was now sold for honor and all the noobs started running around in it, with no skill at all..
