thanks guys! it is so nice to stumble upon your comments...
to reply to an older comments, my flickr page is still flickr.com/photos/major1deegan. i changed the name for various reasons, i am now seymour templar
find me here: seymourtemplardotcom
and if you fancy the man behind the camera, read my thoughts here:
seymourtemplardotposterousdotcom (and feel free to leave comments, there, too!)
so you say his camera is good....that's why i fucking wanna know what his camera is. seriously how many brain cells do you have bouncing around up there?
Clearly you can't hear the shutter noise from the frames he takes. And, yeah, if you really want to know, go on his Flickr, see what various cameras he uses - there's some medium format work on there, so its obviously not the frame rate of the camera that gets the picture but the skill of the photographer.
Put any pro behind and crappy camera and they'll get good images. This guy is very good, AND his camera is very good hence the excellent images.
Not necessarily. He could take his photos at the right moment and not rely on luck. If you want a fast FPS camera, anything above 4FPS is more than enough, which is basically any DSLR on the market right now. Be happy with what you've got and make the most of it
@RetroGamer1990 are you a fucking idiot? did you not see the video? clearly he has a fast shot to shot rate. where the fuck did i mention anything about luck or skill? all i said was his camera was fucking fast.
@RetroGamer1990 i do. it has a quick shot to shot rate which is actually something i care about as it is very useful in street photography (as illustrated in this video).
i think that was my whole point, not to knock art, --"no one questions this."so cameras film constantly is that how we want to live? i just think it is sad to see everyone taking the side of the person holding the camera.
it makes me upset to see pictures taken of people so freely, because its such a invasion of privacy, without any consent. but its sad too because they are such great pictures!
There is no expectation of privacy in the public. If Daniel were photographing people thru the windows of their home, then you'd have an expectation of privacy. Almost every square inch of walking thru TIme Square is documented thru bank camera's, TV Crews for MTV for NBC, tourists, everything. You are ridiculous for thinking there would be such a thing as an expectation fo privacy walking in public.

Excellent photography! Major1Deegan no longer seems to be a flickr member. I'd like to see more of his work.

great shots.
i don't know why people always argue about the ethical thing of taking pictures without consent.
here in britain we have millions of cameras filming absolutely everything. nobody seems to question this.

Great shots and i love the fact you have used colour rather than going with the 'norm' of black and white. Some real inspiration here. Thanks!
