@mprechl Due to the hidden variable foodSaturationLevel, which must deplete before the foodLevel variable (represented by the hunger bar) can start to deplete. So, eating at half a drumstick isn't "wasted" so much as it's not "optimized."

Bread will give you 6 points of saturation and 2.5 points of food level, so while the 2 food levels aren't used at 9.5 drumsticks, the 6 unseen points will keep you at full hunger for some time.
