  • This man has been living his dream of performing since he was a kid; and that's the way to do it. Doing what you love and loving what you do until the last song is sung. Tony Martin i admire you sir.

  • Great vid upload ! Thanks a lot.

  • Lucky Guy and he was married to Cyd Charisse

  • I'm surprised he hasn't been asked to sing the National Anthem at a baseball game. No doubt he could do it and it would be a great privilege at the same time. Incredible.

  • He's still a great singer..the only sadness that Mr.Martin still has is losing his beloved wife and fellow performer..Ms.Cyd Charisse.

  • Well, this voice is....incredible for 95!!!

  • There comes a time for gracefully exiting-------stage left. I recall his younger days with great respect. But I find this clip very sad.

  • The guy was born several years before Sinatra and Dean Martin and at least 15 years before Tony Bennett. Were they still alive, Perry Como and Frankie Laine.would be his age. I'm of two minds listening to him here. There is something to said for an individual who stays at what he loves throughout his lifetime. On the other hand when you listen to Tony sing All the Things You Are in his prime and compare it ti this, there is also something to be said for hanging it up while you've still got it.

  • I believe if you stay true to your passions it keeps you alive and healthy for many years, and Tony Martin is a true testament to that. Mr Martin I love and admire you and want to be just like you when I grow up

  • I saw Tony at the Flamingo hotel Las Vegas in 1963 he looked great by the pool. I wanted to go by him and tell him my Uncle Lenny Sessa knew him in the forty's and bragged about him. He always said he was a great guy. I did wave and he returned a wave back. He had a great voice. Many more performances Tony, Salute.

  • @lv421945 COOOOL He is a class guy. SOOOOO NICE

  • The Amazing, Wonderful Tony Martin! He has not given in to age but adapted to it. Thank you for posting this. I've been a Tony Martin fan since I first heard him. He looks and sounds SUPERB!

  • Tony was not at his best during this performance, 97! but he was the most captivating vocalist that I've ever known. I am a 50-yr-old musician, & I worked w-Tony 15 years ago in NJ, when he was 81 yrs old. The audience laughed at his (elderly) accompanist, when he hobbled out to the piano. Once he started playing, the laughing stopped. He was amazing! Then Tony proceeded to sing. I've NEVER seen an audience so mesmerized! He sang beautifully, & exquisitely! God Bless You, Tony, & THANK YOU!!!

  • I am happy to see you still are performing...you are amazing, and a real wonder to see. I hope you enjoy MANY more happy, healthy birthdays!! Love from a fan, Ben.

  • And he is still performing, he does yearly performances at Feinstein's hope to go next year if he does another tour. Only 22 but huge fan of his, his voice is magical. Also had gotten an autographed pic from Tony & Cyd a couple months before her death last year. What an amazing couple they were, and 60 years of marriage WOW!

  • If anyone wants to criticize this amazing 97 year old's voice, just needs to listen to the much younger Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. I like Aerosmith but Steven lost his voice many many years ago even before his throat problems. he screeches his songs. Tony sounds better than him. I could name a few other Rock singers who have lost their voices too and all are 30 to 40 years younger than this man. He sounds great for his age. Even Sinatra started losing his voice in his upper 70's.

  • When i was 4 we saw Tony at a resteraunt called Fritzels in Chicago. He was my moms fav so we went up to him, and talked. He sent me a huge poster of him that was signed to me. What a thrill that was. A nice man, and trust me he was really hot as a singer then.

I think he was underestimated as a singer really, watching the old movies, since the old 78's are long gone Hahaha

  • Mr. Martin's vitality, courage and refusal to bow to age is an inspiration. We should all applaud him on our feet.

  • Cut him some slack. Considering he sang You Stepped Out of a Dream over 65 years ago. Let's see how you sound at 96,

  • I think the first few posters are being way too hard on Mr. Martin. He's 95, and I think he sounds well. If your ears are hurting, you're probably deaf. He obviously can't hit High F notes and phrase, enunciate, and project his voice like he did 60 years ago, but he still has a lot of spark and enthusiasm for his age. God Bless Him. Thanks for posting.

  • Lets see how those loosers are like at 95 feeling sorry for themselves and doing nothing but sitting on the ass. That night meant a lot to his fans, friends and Tony Martin.

  • Indeed. Though watching this kind of makes me sad because I'm reminded me of guys like Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole and others who I wished talk as good a care of themselves, their bodies and their voices as Mr. Martin did. Still, he's very good for his age. Ther's also aperfomance of him on a PBS special singing "Begin The Beguine" and "There's No Tomorrow" on PBS. He sounds even better there and makes us all the more thankful he's still around.

  • @theatrecorner Dont worry!...They probably wont make it to 95 because negativity burns you out. I love and adore people who leave a wonderful legacy of positive things and who continue to contribute and never give up! God bless you Mr Martin!

  • The posters to whom you refer show what complete idiots they are by actually discussing pitch and lung capacity in the same paragraph as this great legend. The very idea that this loving person is actually in our midst is a great marvel and is performance art in and of itself. He is a conductor of a sort of energy that these bitter, jealous critics have never connected with. Picth be damned. Let us now count ourselves lucky to have seen his star shine at all.

  • Why do you post such videos showing stars at their worst. He's so off pitch...his voice hurts my ears.

  • shame on you and your thinking

  • Why is Jill wrong for stating her opinion? Isn't that why YouTube has a comments section, so people can weigh in one way or the other? How sad (and unrealistic) if all anyone did was give universally positive comments, even when they are undeserved. Personally, I was glad the video was posted because I was curious as to whether or not Tony could still pull it off. Sadly, he can't, and I agree with Jill's assessment of his performance. But for others who enjoyed this clip, more power to you.

  • Jill4388 and losangeleno are both entitled to thier opinions, as are the rest of the people who REACT to their opinions. My opinion of Tony Martin is that he's a man of panache and savoir-faire, something that Jill4388 and losangeleno couldn't demonstrate even if they had YEARS of schooling and practice. Let them be what they are - just two more in an endless SEA of armchair critics. Just remember: "Those who can't do, critique."

  • Fantastic,I believe Tony is now 95 years young.

  • December 25 he'll be 95

  • Since this man never ceases to amaze us, he shall be 96 the day after tomorrow :D .
