  • New rickroll, my ass. This woman is more brilliant than 95% of today's artists put together. And Rick Astley wasn't even cool in the 80s

  • LOLOLOLOL new rick roll.

  • Uh

  • Swqhwhhwheysysyydyydyhruruhheyeyeyyeueueuueudusr ddvvddvddvbdbdbsneneenenenenenemeneneenejnenenejejeejekekemenebe

  • Legal, depois de 40 anos fui conhece-la, é que naquela época não divulgavam clips de musicas internacionais.

  • 77Porthos77, you are absolutely right... but then I was only recalling based on when I heard it... which was a loooong time ago! :) Lost touch since the 80s.

  • This is 80s music. It's still as good now.

  • @Danderman888 1978, but close enough :)

  • I am comng to get you Kate before you make the biggest mistake off your life I mean how desperate god knows what people will think about her. I made a mistake I am coming to get you, Trust me the woman is getting desperate.

  • lovely

  • GOD i love this woman

  • awesome...................... :)

  • ENGLISH ROSE ALERT!

  • Immortal.

  • This is a song of my youth! Immortable!

    Marketa

  • nice

  • Wolfgang Vock

  • eu era adolescente! como eramos felizes e nao sabia! (essa musica era de uma propaganda de cigarro)

  • @ostrilho11 é isso aí, eu me lembro!

  • Morons! How can anyone compare Pat Benatar who was a flash in the pan with Kate Bush. Her career is so much longer richer etc. Regarding this song, no one conveys the haunting spirit this song is meant to have. Without reading Wuthering Heights, you feel that this is about a love that transcends the line between life and death, a lover that comes back to keep a love promise. Pat Benatar is the singing hooker. No soul, no spirit...

  • @Alpinevelo1 Wow - you're obviously passionate about the great Kate. But Pat Benatar had a string of hits from the late 70's through the early 90's. She was a classically trained musician who made the hard rock female sound a commercial success, later introducing a repertoire of anthemic, driving rock ballads. These women worked in different veins and both had their own success. It is a testament to Benatar that she recognized the high caliber of songwriting in Bush's "Wuthering Heights."

  • come suck my dick bitch..<3

  • stop abusing your kid kate or the law will know about it

  • ok... 3 times is enough... for now, you rock Katie, see ya next time!

  • Magnifique.

  • She's a great performer....songwriter...and dancer. But she's not a great singer. Pat Benatar's version if far better as for vocal range. Yes, Bush wrote the song but she sounds like a chipmunk.

  • @DickLodge68 Well, she was a bit younger at that time, I believe she was 19.... But listen to songs from ''Running Up That Hill'' period and you will see how great her voice has become, especially her duet with Peter Gabriel on ''Don't Give Up''....

  • @RainSong1973 Npt even a bit younger...that was decades ago. As for this particular song....I like Benatar's version better. Kate Bush has a great voice and very talented.I loved her with Gabriel.....that song just wrung your soul and then gave it back to you.

  • She reminds me so much of Tom Keifer of Cinderella

(or he reminds me of her if she's older I suppose)

  • This reminds me off the book.Love kate Bush .Now to be Heathcliff with the neighbours BORING!.

  • She should have done a 'Jane Eyre' follow-up to this, playing Mr Rochester's mad wife in the attic.

  • The first time I heard this song was in the summer of 1978 , during a night shift.

Since then I have loved all her songs and her voice.

    A great singer.

  • I remember when I first saw this video when I was 5 - I was hooked. For people who think she's crazy - take a long hard look at yourself - she's an icon and this was totally new for music in the late 70's. Gaga who?

  • Shes mental!!!

  • This is wierd shit

    Cleci

  • I'd split her in half.

  • I LOVE YOU KATE

  • She is the spitting image of Katey Sagal.

  • Oh my god what a stunning woman! where have all the years gone? I remember buying the Kate Bush tape and playing it over and over in my Mini, old age creeping in ,what a babe and haunting voice. Just fantastic , where are you now kate? xx

  • Kate Bush is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life any one else agree... if only I had lived in that time when the women where beautiful and the music was good.... I'm 19

  • One of the songs I listened to this morning on a CD. It brought back so many memories as a child. When I stayed at my Granma's house this was one of the songs I used to hear when I was put to bed at night. I found it a very eerie song then and I still do but for some reason I like it.

  • Im 26 and love Kate Bush's music. 33 years after this song was released I have crush on her. Absolutly gorgeous.

  • @vishiquals nothing like blowing your own trumpet to endear yourself to the public !!

  • I remember it well when this was released and was very impressed in the way she strung the lyrics together. Extremely clever. I have seen two film versions of Wuthering Heights, including the original one starring Merle Oberon and Laurence Olivier and am a big fan. Kate Bush's interpretation is "perfect" and when put together on the video with scenes from the original, I know it may sound corny, but I really feel transported into their world of undying love.

  • "Heathcliff, it's me. I'm Cathy. I've come home. I'm so cold. Let me in your window". Read the book (again). That's real love!

  • 93 people should be left on withering heights on a cold, dark night.

  • melei muito a cueca com essa musica nos bailes do missier limá no irajá atlético clube o romulo costa era auxiliar dele. Saudade!!!

  • I just love her...even now drunk off my ass..I just had to hear Kate before I go to bed <3

  • Come to think of it, I don't know why I didn't understand why my right arm was much better developed than my left....

  • I was 17 so was she. I would have then. I would now !

  • This reminds me of how sad the book is :( Heathcliff and Catherine :(

  • Am I the only one who can't understand this woman?

  • @celencat if you listen carefully you can hear what she is singing. I didnt really understand her at first.

  • Time for some interpretive dance moves

  • this song still scares me, i feel like im going to be possesed every time i hear it. ahhhhgdrdtggffc -__-

  • I could die tomorrow and be happy today if I had an Angel like Kate Bush to sing for me!

  • Kate Bush <3

  • She is awesome !!... for sophisticated people with good taste .

  • I used to be very scared of this video when i was a child... I thought she was a witch!

  • ♥ .

  • ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC!

    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

  • shes a mad beautyyy

  • Kate Bush is one the best emoters of her time. There's so much depth in this song.... she IS Cathy. What a creative and acurate picture of Bronte's classic.

  • heartbreak and longing from beyond the grave, and sung by a woman with an etherial angelic voice

  • @katebushisagenius yeah Kate ,,,,,not much more to say,she was just so beautiful with the most beautifull voice,I remember I was 10 or so when this was on eMpTV ,I was used to zepplin the doors and ACDC,I saw that face with that voice I remember very vividly as a young boy she was the first woman I ever saw where I literaly couldnt breathe because I was so captivated,I still love this song and will always be inlove with Kate Bush

  • She is actually pretty fucking sexy! such a great face

  • I liked the song better then the book!

  • What do you think i'm going to do now??

    Watch Wuthering Heights of course!!!

  • Still amazing.

  • When we were studying Wuthering Heights in class our teacher showed us this. Somehow it escalated to us watching both versions of the video about five times and our teacher printing out the lyrics for us to sing along. I think he was trying to show us the importance of stuff like the window and the ghost as symbolism. It didn't work. It was very odd but very fun lesson...

  • We need More Kate!! She stays foot firm & stretches the bounds of reality better than anyone for us all to go there and come home to reality and doesn't leave us there! There is no better frame of creativity!

  • The Best!

  • shes always been a hot babe...

  • she lived at bexleyheath in kent

  • Man, she was one hot British brunette. What's up w/ those LSD trails @ 1:50 ? You think she might have dosed in order to write this? Her voice register is so high, it makes me wonder if she sings a mix of natural and falsetto voice.

  • Lady Gaga, eat your heart out.

  • I can't do the cartwheel, nor can I sing like she does. (All I can do is to stare at vid in wonder)

  • Nope, it still sounds like she's singing "i'm on a whitey" at the start of the song...strong joint?.lol

  • what a beautiful song

  • She's like a bad car accident, horrible to see but you can't take your eyes off of her.

  • @TheRickSm dikhead

  • For me this video and this song are a very beatiful parody-homenage to the incredible romantic novel of Emily Brontë. It is a kind of homenage mixed with irony. Something only great artists and great readear can understand....I remember I was just a girl when I saw this video on television here in Brazil and it was an experience that leads me to read the book. Congratulations and thank you, Ms Bush.

  • @augustoversiani I don't think it is a parody - but now that you mention it, I'm starting to see it. Wuthering Heights is a really terrible story in the sense that it quite dark and sad. But its great that Kate (Kathy) wrote this song 150 years after the book first came out.

  • @augustoversiani Please explain how it is parody. 'a humorous or satirical imitation of a serious piece of literature or writing'

  • There is a man on YT who covered her song Babooshka! And he sounds like an old lady from a panto! Lool! KB reminds me of my friend who looks and sings like Kate (:

  • She his beautiful and talented. I could love her even if i was blind and deaf...

  • This is Beautifully Stunning WonderFull ! ! !

  • I love her!

  • Sorry, but you/she is creepy.....

  • @Natashia013 Read Wuthering heights for gods sake Natashia !. in the story, Kathy dies and her ghost comes back to haunt Heathcliffe . Kate is singing" it's me Kathy, let me in Heathcliffe, i'm so cold" . She is supposed to be Creepy, she is scaring Heathcliffe with her ghostly image at his window. One of the English Languages greatest love stories endowed with homage by Kate Bush.

  • @Mercmad I really like this bookand i never thought of this interpretation of this song and kate bush's creepiness. I think this song is a sort of interpretation of what was going on inside Cathy's mind as Heathcliff betrays her. Heathcliff is portrayed as this man who has gone to the edge because of the one he loves. Cathy was also brought to the edge but was less emphasized. In my opinion, Kate's song isn't scaring Heathcliff, but showing an equal amount of passion Heathcliff had toward her :)

  • @Mercmad,

You have it all wrong. This is a song about the coffee addiction of the lovable owner of a cartoon cat. Kate is singing, "Heathcliffe, It's me on caffeine".

    ;p

  • @Mercmad Just a hint, no mean to offend or insult, but if you insist someone to read a book, try and spell their names right. It's Cathy with a C, and Heathcliff has no e. Have a nice day! xx

  • @Natashia013 your opinion don't mean shit you feeble minded idiot

  • One of the first unique female musicians of her time. Added dance in a rock type environment all her own & the song was inovative back then. The changes within the structure of the song was dynamic for that time. No one did that kind of thing at all.

more than a novelty... You go girl, and don't stop! I need the inspiration! Thanks :)

  • love those eyes of hers ;)

  • I wonder if I'm the only one who doesn't care how old everyone is

  • My grandma (R.I.P) used to do the dance to this song. Ever since I can remember, I've loved thisd song...still do even now! Classic!

    :-)

  • She's a kind of a Sarah Brightman - creepier, I'd say!

  • Phwoar.... She makes me melt ! A proper fit-bit with a Superb voice.

  • How old are you kate bush fans? im just wondering if theres anyone around my age cus im 16 and love kate :)

  • @TheStickynoodle I'm 15 and I think she's fantastic :D

  • @WestiGirl good to know other kids in our generation know what good music is :D

  • OMG This song is so playing at my wedding!!! i just have to watch Wuthering Heights now!!!...:L

  • Oh gosh! She's so gracefull, just like a little doll...

I don't understand why but i'm crazy for her hands.

  • this is atrocious

  • Kate Bush is the Top of the Top

    Clyde TriCanauos.

  • I can't stop watching this vid! She is so haunting graceful!

The song took her a few hours to write. DAMN! McCarntney did Live & let die in that time. As a writer, when you got something you go with it and sort itself out after. But very well done.

  • que hermosa cancion!!!

  • I love her... so much talent.

  • the song takes me back...the posts here though are damn hillarious!

  • @TheTwotonic We aim to please!

  • WHAT did I just watch?

  • this song was No.1 in the british charts the day I was born.

  • @kryptonite1888 Lucky you. I had fucking "My Heart Will Go On".

  • Muuito foda

  • How the blimmin flip did she create this album... AGED EIGHTEEN!

  • @afterlee

She wrote "Man With the Child in his Eyes" when she was thirteen.

  • @afterlee She wrote most of the songs herself when she was thirteen but put them on the album Wuthering Heights after she was signed to EMI in 1974 by David Gilmour from Pink Floyd, and the album was released in 1978. It went #1 on the UK charts and Kate became the first British woman to have 9 #1 songs on the UK Singles Chart.

  • @dsim200000

The album was called The Kick Inside, not Wuthering Heights, and she had one UK #1 single, not nine!

  • @afterlee I knew I made a mistake after I typed WH lol. I know its called The Kick Inside.

And I was saying that throughout Kate's career she's known as the first British woman to have 9 UKSC #1 songs. (UKSC=UK Singles Chart)

  • I really can't get enough of this song!

  • Sheer genius

  • Oh, I guess I wanted to watch some fat cockney x factor shite without actually realising it.

  • She was so sexy!

  • @SSJSonicguy but wierd..

  • lol she's a little over-expressive =P i don't see a ghost doing all those moves! loool (but then again, i've NEVER seen a ghost xD) but love this song <3

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA LMAO

  • if i watch this while i'm high, my buzz goes into hyperdrive.

  • Gorgeous and talented woman, the kind you'd kill another man to make love to

  • @Thurzotron Excellent! Restores your faith in humanity to see feelings such as those remain to drive your sentiments. She is indeed a priceless jewel.

  • Song.

  • I love this woman. End,

  • How does Jim Steinman honestly think "It's all coming back to me now" is a more hardcore song than this one? Both great songs but this one gives me shivers.

  • @vishiquals

Still spouting your tripe I see? As I said the other night, you are a WUM. You keep telling us that you are a musician. I asked you the other night what key this song was in. You couldn't answer because you don't know. Because you are not a musician. You've been found out. You spam this, and other threads with your adverts for your site. You say Kates voice is thin. Not half as thin as your argument.

  • Never heard of her until I went to Italy with the "girls" in 1978. I loved it then and now:-)

  • I suggest we let that dame vishiquals keep vomitting on Kate, the more she does that the more people come and get to know Kate's prodigious music and voice - the number of views and hits is increasing like never before.

  • @vishiquals Ok you dont like Kate Bush, but at least you had the sense to know shes one of the greats.Thats why you picked her out to try to slag her off.You must have quite a bit of envy of her talents.

  • @ggarlick46 Just a jealous, bitter harpy with A LOT of envy. You're right, she picked up Kate because Kate's one of the greatest singers ever. Trying to burn her reputation and take her place. Without proving anything. So pathetic! lol

  • She is just the best. I am so glad she producing more.

  • @vishiquals i would like to kick you in the teeth, but i got 2 club feet...oh shit..wait a minute....

  • envolvente esta cançaõ linda!!

  • My oh my, do I love this gal...

You know in this age of superlatives, to me she is just THE artist. Focused on her work, only comes out when she has something to offer to us, and such things, such things.

I'm not a great lover of mimes, choreography is not my strong point, and yet if I should pinpoint one thing in my entire life I regret missing, it would be her first and only tour in 1979, even though I was too young to go, and in another country, and didn't even know her yet...

  • Listening to this makes me sad about the current state of the music industry. Such a meaningfully highly evocative, original talent wouldn't stand a chance in todays environment. Her music takes you to places todays musicians don't know exist.

  • @vishiquals Mediocre songwriter and not a good singer? The only expertise you have is a professional bullshitter.

  • @ggarlick46 HOW DARE YOU INSULT KATE! TRY WRITING A SONG, AND SEE IF IT'S AS GOOD AS HER'S!

SHE'S THE BEST SINGER AND SONGWRITER IN THE WORLD. Professional bs******ter indeed. AAAAAAARRRGH!

  • @lucypuddlejumper You TOSSER! cant you see I WAS COMMENTING on vishiquals putting down Kate.If you can read that is!

  • @ggarlick46 i am sure she was only 18 when this video was made . How many 18 year olds out there singing today who are this inventive and inovative?

  • @Mercmad She was 19,but your right, cant think of any, certainly not any who would get a no 1 hit on their first record.

  • @vishiquals

I'm not saying she is great or anything, I'm just saying it's nice to hear original voice in a song, something that wasn't digitally converted to sound like a low pitched robot.

  • God dammit how I love the pre-autotune singing.

  • oh man...that was some good shit...i'm trippin....somebody grab my hand before it falls down a cosmic hole in my neighbors backyard....

  • Watching moving around with her eyes all buggy does bring an image of Cathrine at the window trying to get into the house to snatch Heathcliffs soul.

  • Comment removed

  • I really love this song! Wuthering Heights is my favourite book ever! But this woman is not normal, she is crazy! :D

  • @kovakovics You like the song, its the eccentricity that makes Kate a genius.

  • Hands down one of the most beautiful, innovative and progressive females ever to emerge from the British music industry.

  • Easily the most beautiful Tai Chi I've ever seen ...

  • Syndrome, you are f-n annoying.. Gaga blia nah..

  • Classic.....such a talent...voice, dance...thank you for posting.

  • even though i found the book very drying to my soul i enjoy this song.

  • ameiiiii!!!!

  • eu tenho medo dessa mulher Oo'

    she scares me Oo'

  • When this came out I had no idea how really amazing this song and video were.

  • At the time, I didnt think she was anything special. Now, I realise that was just my immaturity.

The most amazing thing about her, for me, is WHAT made her decide to hatch out like this, rather than like any other silly girl group ?

I mean, has anyone EVER seen any female behave like this ?

    Its actually quite amazing !

  • @AnnoyingTypoSyndrome Shes Only Loves her Artwork ! ! !

  • Grande Kate!!!

  • Big tuneeeeeee

  • I LOVE YOU... This is real love when you ever have loved me truly!

  • ...
