Haven't played it for years but i remember i always found the temple boss the hardest- i think i could lose 70 lives! so either he was hard or i was just a really bad player! (2nd was space boss)

@Scizor753 lol this was mah 1st game and when i got to that part i would hand the controler to my mom because she had the fastest trigger finger. i remember that she beat it and i was screaming in joy. then i proceded to the clown levels.
