Actually, the speed limit is 30km/h, same as for mopeds. In the eyes of the law, a moped is actually a bicycle (with a support engine) and all mopeds had pedals 40 years ago. Maybe the new EU regulations will lower the speed limit for mopeds down to 25km/h.
@hunterdp There is some places in Copenhagen where there is "Green Zones". In Rushhour traffic. U have to drive at leest 20 km in hour on the bikelanes.
I think its made to get the "Critical mass" to flow better together.
(Amagerbrogade) Der starter en zone ved krydset Tingvej/Amagerbrogade.
@hunterdp : Here in the Netherlands there basically is no speed limit for bikes, allthough police officers will probably warn you when you are doing 40 in a residential area (where 30 kilometers usually is the limit for motorized traffic.)
A program about road abuse caught a Velo-bike that was doing 60 and the officers (it was a police vehicle equipped with a camera) wondered whether the thing was motorized or not, so they stopped him.
You don't HAVE to drive 20 km/t in the green zone by law, you can do it to awoid red light stop. There's no speed limit for bikes in Denmark.

Cool. Do they enforce speed limits on cycle lanes there, or is it as fast as is safe?

I never heard of anyone getting a speeding ticket while on a bicycle here. My guess is the same speed limit that applies for cars applies for bikes.
