He had a simple tooth infection; it for some reason rapidly grew and spread before he could get in at the dentist. The infection moved to his neck and swelled his windpipe shut. All that happened around 3 days time. Therefore, they had to take him in for emergency surgery to remove the infection and re-open his windpipe.

It took a little over a week. It is now fully heald. Of course he has a roundish scar their now.
